Basically the idea behind this is to help other members find other great shows to watch, based on the type of show they're looking for. From there feel free to suggest more shows that others haven't suggested, comment on shows suggested, respond back after seeing the show etc.

So, I'll start! Currently I'm looking for a new drama to watch. Some I've enjoyed in the past are Sherlock, Game of Thrones, and United States of Tara. I don't tend to like anything that's purely emotional like a soap opera, or anything that has like... a super weird plot twist. Anyone got any suggestions? :D

    11/10 show

also feel free to suggest me a show. i pretty much like anything guys, particularly on netflix so have at it [:

EDIT: also another good drama/action drama on netflix is the following. stars kevin bacon and is actually a really good and intense show. i feel like it's only downside is that it's a little drawn out but still worth a watch.

If you like paranormal shows check out dead files. The first couple episodes are kinda meh, but once you get into it, it's so good. It's on netflix!!

What is a super weird plot? Just to clarify a bit :P

Dexter: A Blood splatter analyst who works with the Miami cops who secretly murders criminals who have found loopholes in the system in order to avoid jail time.

Heroes: A group of people suddenly gains super powers after an eclipse and then realize they are all connected to save the world.

Prison Break: A brilliant structural engineer gets himself into prison in order to break out his brother who have been wrongfully accused of a murder and together they try to clear his name.

Breaking Bad: A very very over qualified chemicals high school teacher gets diagnosed with cancer and in order to earn money to give to his family and not to leave them with debts, decides to cook meth.

Bloodline seems kinda interesting, I may check it out! Not quite sure what the plot is though?

As for Dead Files, I'm not usually super into people exploring haunted stuff but if it's good I'll try it!

Super weird plot would be like if there's a weird twist or something that's just like trying to be as shocking as possible, but ends up being nonsensical. Basically like how a lot of Lost was just cryptic semi-nonsense. I'm fine with weird premises and plot turns so long as have reason behind them XD

I enjoyed both Dexter and Heroes, though after season one Heroes got pretty lackluster. For some reason I never finished Dexter though (probably cuz I heard it just started going downhill) D:

Tbh I should probably ave watched Breaking Bad by now but oh well. I'm a little afraid it won't live up to all the hype. Never heard of Prison Break though! It seems like an interesting plot so I think I'll start there when I get the chance :D

Bloodline follows the same plotline as Damages if you have ever seen it. You are previewed with the ending of the season beforehand and it plays out that way.(lots of flashbacks telling the story) The story itself is about a family with too many secrets that are finally catching up to them. Oldest brother Danny is looking for revenge on the family that betrayed him I guess? I can't say much without spoiling it lol but it's very good and develops fast. It's a super small cast so you can really get to know everyone well.

BB is good, slightly overrated after re-watching it. Better off watching Better Call Saul tbh

People overhyped it waaayyy too much. I was expecting a great show that would be like the greatest show in the world. But don't get me wrong, it's a great show. But people overhype it a lot :)
    Still a recommendation haha.

Looking for something like The West Wing, but is a) not House of Cards or Scandal as I'm saving my time to see the former and I've seen the latter and b) not written by Aaron Sorkin. I'm on the fourth season of WW right now and I'm just not gonna make it to the end.

Keywords being: political (but not necessarily), modern, scathingly witty, not too many seasons.

Doctor Who, for sure. That's one of my absolute favorites~

My taste in shows is really picky. I only like cartoons because I have a very short attention span. I do like paranormal stuff, just as long as it's not super scary. Like, I don't want it to have things jumping at you or give you too much of a thrill with suspense as well. I'm very squeamish. I just can't bare horror and gore at all either. :x Not sure what anyone can suggest based on that.

I suggest The 100 if you havent seen it S2 ended not so long ago and S3 is on its way phenominal survival/adventure series
Falling Skies S1-4 is epic and the final S5 is on its way
Once Upon a Time I believe S4 has ended and S5 is on its was
    Gotham

Not sure if you wanted current shows or not but shoutout to these
Merlin (BBC) this is on Netflix sure it was from 2008-2013 but its 5 series of great fun and enjoyment
Stargate Atlantis sure this is old but have been watching it through on Netflix just got to S4

I'm going to advise anyone who enjoys comedy, superpowers, and ineligible british accents to watch Misfits. It's about a group of early twentiers that have to work community service, and receiver superpowers, together with a lot of people in the city. The characters are super interesting and funny, and the first 2 seasons are some great tv. The other three seasons are less amazing, but they still are a lot of fun. The way the world works and everything, the way the powers show off the psyche of someone, it's just great. It does get a bit vulgar sometimes, and the humor is a bit dark sometimes. I'll put on of my favorites in a spoiler below.

I've heard that Newsroom is decent and kind of similar, though I haven't seen it myself. Same thing for Veep which may also be something you'd like! I'd recommend House for wittiness and modernistic, but it's like 9 seasons long.

Doctor Who, for sure. That's one of my absolute favorites~

Mm I've wanted to try watching Doctor Who at some point, but just haven't gotten around to it! I also heard a good idea would be to start at the 9th season?

Depending on your sense of humor, you may like Futurama! A lot of the jokes are well thought out and it's something you can watch some of whenever (which means you can jump into it in like the second season when it comes together more). Another short series you might like is Over the Garden Wall. It's cartoon as well, and has a paranormal weirdness to it. It's also animated really well and is fun. And one more suggestion would be Gravity Falls. It's an awesome cartoon all about paranormal happenings in a small Oregon town, and a show I personally find really funny.

Yeah. it is. I haven't even seen the original Doctor Who. I prefer the reboot a lot more.

I've actually watched Futurama, and I love that show already. As for the other two, I've heard of them as well. Gravity Falls doesn't really interest me for some reason. I do want to see Over the Garden Wall though. Another one I want to see is Steven Universe, but Netflix is stupid at times. That and my current visual kei obsession is to blame for my lack of watching TV like I used to.
