A "Supermoon" typically occurs annually (where the moon is closest to the Earth in the span of a year), however it's being reported that this year's occurrence will be the closest that the moon will be to the Earth since 1948. The next time that the moon will come this close to Earth will be in 2034.

What is a "supermoon," you may ask? It's when the moon itself appears to be larger than normal in the sky. It's typically best-viewed at moonrise wherever you may be.

Damn, the last one was 68 years ago! This is cool though, I'll definitely try to get some good photos of this if I can.

Should be able to see it great from my house! (Especially since some hillbilly shot out the streetlight)

I'll try and grab some pics if I can!

Look Tsutarja I'm posting in the Lab like you wanted!! Are you proud yet?!?!?!

Damn i can't watch it 'cause it's damn cloudy weather here. I'm posting just at the moment *sigh* if only these clouds will vanish. xc

Had a look at it earlier tonight. The supermoon is only about 15% brighter than the average full moon. Not enough of a difference for anyone to notice. If you had something to measure it against you could tell them apart but against the night sky, it looks like no different to an ordinary full moon.
Managed to catch the moonrise though, which was very beautiful. The moon appeared dark red at first, then slowly turned pink and finally off-white.

Got a couple of photos. Forgive the poor picture quality, this was a phone camera.

    Spoiler:

Got a picture of Venus too, surprised that the phone could even pick it.

I got to see the supermoon myself while I was driving back home after a nice dinner at Chili's. It was unfortunately red-colored because I was expecting it to be in its usual gray color.

    Spoiler:

Excuse the quality, my phone is infamous for its mushy low-light photography. Pretty good view of the moon though. Looks like... well the moon!

Don't be too sad if you cannot see it due to weather. If someone hadn't said it was special it would be unnoticeable tbh.

I think the moon might've been a little birghter than usual last night, I totally didn't know it was a supermoon lol.

Still sad we didn't see any superwerewolves at the supermoon. (lol jk)

Welp, surprise surprise it turned out to be a complete failure in my area. It was extremely cloudy last night and although it was kinda visible, the pictures didn't do it justice and it didn't look anywhere near "super". D:
