Suggestion: Supported Hacks

So as we know ROM hacking is the main thing PokeCommunity offers, besides the sweet community and staff, it's the reason why many of us our here.

So that leaves me with a question, why don't we have a way to show what hacks we support built in? Yes we can add them in our signature if they have a image, or we can sub to the thread. But I'm talking about a section in the forums like a friends section on our profile, or at the very least a thing in our about section. Of course the first option would be the best. We could require hacks to have a small emblem size image that can show up in that section, or we can have a team to make them uniform (I volunteer). And code a button on threads to automatically add it, or like subbing to a thread.

Couldn't you just edit the "Biography" of your profile and just list what hacks you support there. Wouldn't that suffice?

Or rather, do you want a section under say, "Claims" which says "Supported Hacks" in which you can list off which one's you show favor to? Because I definitely think that is doable.

But some people aren't here for anime but we still have a place for bishies. Some people aren't here for clubs but we still have a place for club memberships. Just because not everyone uses that feature of the forum doesn't mean we shouldn't support it.

IIRC when we added some other thing like claims it wasn't a difficult thing to do and frankly I'm surprised that it took this long for someone to ask about it!

I would love to have something like this, especially considering my signature is a bit of real estate and I don't have room to make my own mess in it with supported hacks and it not be a mess…

I honestly don't see why it wouldn't though, as it's frankly a pretty good idea.

It is the reason why a lot of us here and why we stayed. Its how I found it, and I stayed for so much more. I mean we could share our favorite pokemon or what clubs/hobbies we have in the bio too, yet they have their own sections. And some people arn't interested in claims, so why is it there..?

Well it could be "Supported Games" #equality. Dev'd games are almost not as 'supported' the way hacks are, so thats why I didn't think of them. :)

I'd have no idea how to code that and even if I did idk if I'd entirely support a whole profile element dedicated to something that only some of the forum uses. I get that you don't have to look at it / use it if you don't want to but it still seems a little... big, haha. Sorry. We... can't? I never knew that haha. I do remember there being a music claim thread and I guess I just assumed there to be equivalents. It's not such a case of that you can't claim those things as much as it is that the facility to simply doesn't exist yet in any case. If you'd like to see video game claims, book claims, etc. then bring it up with the staff of the respective sections and maybe it can be a thing!

We actually do have a Video Game Claim thread already up; I'm on my phone right now so. I can't get you the exact link - Ill edit it in later - but it does exist. As for the other items in question - i.e. books, music - if they don't exist in Culture & Media ask Antemortem and I'm sure something can be written up for that.
