Film Surprise (voice) actors?

Have you ever been surprised to discover a certain (voice) actor/actress played a certain (or many) character(s)?

I personally had my mind blown when I saw that Zazu from The Lion King was played by Rowan Atkinson. I didn't register until like two seasons into Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. that Ming-Na Wen also played Mulan. It also didn't dawn on me until the credits of Whiplash that JK Simmons also played Tenzin in The Legend of Korra as well as J Jonah Jameson in the Sam Raimi Spiderman films.

not film but i still laugh every time i remember that freddie prinze jr was in mass effect 3

hmm
demi moore as esmeralda in hunchback of notre dame was the first thing that came to mind lmao.
but did any of you know that michael keaton voiced ken in toy story 3? i sure didn't!

Ming-Na Wen was indeed a delightful surprise, though I already knew a few episodes in, haha.

One voice actor that also taken me by surprise was Liam Nesson in Ponyo (don't remember which character he played). This was amusing to me as I think it was something after Taken and probably Taken 2, lol.

He was also in Dragon Age Inquisition . He knows his Bioware games. =P

Finding out that Mark Hamill was the Fire Lord in Avatar was my most recent surprise. Also JK Simmons as the yellow M&M is the weirdest thing.

Is it bad I knew Mark Hamill was the Fire Lord before I knew he was Luke Skywalker? Probably.

Also holy shit I had no idea about the M&M, that's hilarious.

I knew he was the Joker in batman before Luke Skywalker, is that bad as well?

I know this is a video game but relatable to the topic, but in Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath Of Cortex, Mark Hamill also voiced one of the villainous elemental masks. That was even before I found out he was Luke Skywalker.

Lots of times. I don't really have any recent experiences, but I've discovered a lot of my favorite voice actors doing roles I didn't know. Actually, one in particular would be Tara Strong voicing Timmy Turner and baby Dil at the time. It surprised me because I couldn't tell what her voice was from Rikku's.

It surprised me when I found out that the voice actor who voiced Dawn from Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, Emily Jenness, also voiced Zuzu Boyle from Yugioh Arc-V. :S

Speaking of Yu-Gi-Oh! characters, apparently Tori Meadows from Zexal is voiced by Eileen Stevens a.k.a. Iris from Pokemon BW. But at the same time, her voice is kinda high-pitched to the point I can easily recognize her.

And also Eric Stuart. Took me a while to realize that very hot voice of Seto Kaiba was actually him.

I love playing spot the voice actor with my boyf :c He's got a really good voice-memory, so when I spot someone like OMFGITSTHATGUYFROMTHATTHING before him I'm ever so proud.

Mostly applies to anime dub voices, and a few japanese anime voice actors as well. I'll make sure to record the next time it happens though because I can't recall our last shock.

When it comes to certain actors/actresses known for certain characters doing voices of different characters. I have seen happen in certain seasons of the same franchise. I am of course talking about it happening in the Power Rangers franchise. Course that is a more TV angle than movies. Course I do happen to have heard certain characters in anime or video games voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch, who is best known for playing Adam in the Power Rangers franchise.

When I was a little boy and someone told me that Luke Skywalker did the voice of the joker {D:}

JK Simmons was also Cave Johnson in Portal 2. I love that Juno's dad, Tenzin and Cave are all the same person.

Speaking of LoK, I was actually a big fan of Janet Varney before I knew she was Korra.

I could go on about this topic for a while, I probs know more about voice actors than I do actual celebrities. I do think it's worth noting, however, that I hate when regular actors just play the same personas in TV and in animation. Aubrey Plaza in LoK really bothered me. It's not voice acting, you're just being yourself/April >__>

Yeah same, whenever Eska was speaking it completely took me out of it and I was just imagining Aubrey Plaza talking into a microphone.

Now that I think about it, as much as I like Dante Basco and how much I love Zuko, I also wasn't a fan of using him as Iroh. He has a younger sounding voice and it just didn't match the character at all.

Travis Willingham and Laura Bailey always blow my mind, they're in EVERYTHING. Like Laura Bailey played Tohru Honda in Fruits Basket and Lust in FMA. I love her range <3

I didn't know Hugh Laurie was Jasper in 101 Dalmatians (live action) and Stuart Little as George and Stuart's father either.

I've met them before! Laura is total sweetheart, and Travis is a big teddy bear. They are both very amazing people as well.
