[Sword/Shield Section] Why was the icon changed?

Is it?

If any pokemon is the mascot of the games, wouldn't it be the starters? How about the pokemon that are actually on the box art?
Also, SM's icon was simply the region, just like SwSh's used to be. Why change it?
 
To give a more serious response to this, we're not really inclined to change something as trivial as a forum icon just because literally one person wants it changed. At the very least, the icon is of a Pokemon that is from the games in question.
 
Ummmm obviously the only right choice is Alcremie????
