DELIRIUM
A Fakemon Roleplay. Rated T. 2 spots are open.
Veriti, a beautiful, rich, and incredibly vast region is home to over two hundred unique Pokemon never before documented. For the past twenty years, Veriti had opened its borders to other regions, allowing them to enter and travel around through the beautiful landscapes, battle gyms, compete in contests, and even allow to settle down. Instead of the normal eight Gym Leaders, Veriti has nine. Of course, to keep Veriti's environments the same as much as possible, laws were set down so non-native Veriti Pokemon couldn't be released into the environments; they could only be owned. For years, it worked and Veriti became one of the most coveted areas to travel. However, that all changed about five years ago – Pokemon and humans alike started to become aggressive. They could no longer recognize themselves or their friends. The numbers of the Afflicted continued to rise. Two years after the Hysteria began, non-native Veriti persons on Training Permits were asked to leave the region. Only native Veriti persons were allowed to stay. Gyms, contests, and training allowances were closed down and stopped. Doctors, professors, and high-ranked professionals of the League set out to find a cure for this Hysteria, but have not yet been successful…
IC Thread can be found here!
ABOUT THIS ROLEPLAY:
During the past year, many towns and cities were placed on Lockdown. Gates were built around facilities in hope that it would help to stop Hysteria from spreading, but it did little to help. However, a correlation was found between a trainer and their Pokemon – if a trainer came down with Hysteria, their Pokemon would too, soon after. Maybe it was the bond between them that caused the sickness to spread quicker. Soon, restrictions were placed on families; Pokemon were either released outside the walls, or special permits were given to people who passed tests. Many failed these tests… The few who did pass were Gym Leaders and specific trainers who became part of Security Black Force.
Gym Leaders passed down their titles and were named Lead Protectors over the security of their respective city/town. Security Black Force is the collected group of people and Pokemon meant to help protect inhabitants of each town and city, but often don't travel outside their borders in fear of becoming afflicted with Hysteria. Each Force member usually has one or two Pokemon partners, but because of Hysteria, Pokemon are normally rotated around by members so they don't become attached to one specific trainer. Lead Protectors are a different matter and still have the same Pokemon they used to own when they had their title of Gym Leader.
Hysteria causes symptoms such as loss of identity, aggressiveness toward other human beings, a hive-mind mentality, exhaustion, and hallucinations (including hearing voices or seeing things that aren't there and having active conversations with them). Doctors found that people and Pokemon afflicted with Hysteria have a change in their eye color – the whites of their eyes go dark and their irises (or the color of their eyes) turn a dead gray. The Afflicted were actively scanned and their brain activity had spiked. All areas of the brain were overworked and nerves were constantly firing, before dying and re-healing at incredible speed. No one could figure out the cause for the Hysteria or how to cure it. Soon, many hospitals were filled to the brim with Afflicted, and sometimes there are rumors that Afflicted make it outside the walls into the wilderness of Veriti…
But six months ago, a professional, known as Professor Blackthorn, conducted a test. She found that nine individuals, between the ages of fourteen and twenty, even after being rigorously tested and exposed to Hysteria didn't become afflicted with it. None of the nine came down with symptoms. They all retained normal cognitive functions, their identity, etc. They were immune. Her study documents were sent out to the different cities and towns and baffled professionals. How could these nine individuals be immune to a disease no one could identify the cause of or cure? What made these nine so special?
After a long period of video discussion between the professionals of Veriti, it was decided that the nine immune individuals would be asked to conduct an experiment outside the walls. Though, they'd travel from town to town, they were to find the cause of Hysteria and find a cure. However, Veriti had its dangers. To protect them, each of the nine are given a Pokemon to raise and help keep them safe. Of course, with tests from the past found that if a trainer didn't become afflicted with Hysteria, neither would their Pokemon.
Are you one of Nine? Are you ready to take this journey and find out why Hysteria has such a grip on your home?
ABOUT VERITI:
Veriti is a vast and unbelievably beautiful region. Unique environmental structures and mountains can be seen on every horizon. Pokemon of all different typings and temperaments are documented regularly. There was a time years ago that Veriti was one of the most popular regions for training, battling, and competing. Pokemon, not seen in any other region, could be found here. In Veriti, contests and battles were broadcasted and were some of the biggest events. The champion leagues often attracted thousands of people.
Now though, all these events were closed down. Though Veriti still holds its beauty and grace, the atmosphere is drearier. Each town and city doesn't have the same bright energy it once held…
Gallant Town: Gallant Town is the location where most of the ferries and planes from other regions would arrive in, which are now all turned into Quarantine spots to house Afflicted. However, the town is still peaceful and balmy. It is bordered by the ocean, where many Pokemon and people still play. Gallant Town is said to be one of the only towns who haven't let the state of the region take away life and peace. It is normally always hot, sunny, and has a slight ocean breeze that help to sway the palm trees that border the town's gates. This is where Professor Blackthorn has her lab and studies from, and is where the Nine will start their journey. Gallant Town's Lead Protector, Andie, specializes in Water and Electric type Pokemon.
Celeste City: Celeste City is the closest location to Gallant Town and still retains the beauty and tranquility of its sister-town. The skyscrapers of Celeste City can be seen all the way from Gallant Town and Wenge Town, and most hotels and shopping malls can be found here. Celeste City is the Castelia City of Veriti. Though, now, a good percentage of the hotels have been converted into Quarantine Zones for Afflicted. Celeste City's Lead Protector, Nadine, specializes in Steel and Flying type Pokemon.
Wenge Town: Wenge Town, such a small little town that borders the biggest city of Veriti. Wenge Town can be described by many non-natives as dark and dreary. Wenge Town, however, is the only town that cannot house Afflicted as it is too small. Instead, many of the Wenge Town natives care for the graveyards and mountains surrounding them. Instead of mourning, they celebrate life and death. The night is usually alive with beautiful lanterns of all different colors, and its enchanting music seems to calm Afflicted and normal human and Pokemon alike. Wenge Town's Lead Protector, Stephani, specializes in Ghost and Dark type Pokemon.
Xanadu Town: Xanadu Town is hard to find, and even harder for many to live in unless they were raised there. Xanadu Town is located in a dense rainforest, blocked from Falu City by large mountains. Many steel buildings were built outside the forest to house Afflicted, but most occupants of Xanadu Town make their home in the tree houses high up in the rainforest canopies. Rain is typical here, but when it isn't raining, it's hot and humid enough that sweat is sticky on your skin. Xanadu Town's Lead Protector, Ken, specializes in Poison and Grass type Pokemon.
Falu City: Falu City's home is made over the remnants of hardened volcanic lava. All the houses are made from brick, rock, or mud – naturally-occurring substances, however there are two steel-made buildings made on the border as Quarantine Zones for Afflicted. None of the nearby volcanoes are active, but the atmosphere still retains an impressive amount of heat and humidity. Most occupants of Falu City are used to these extremely hot and humid temperatures, which is normal for their city. Falu City's Lead Protector specializes in Fire and Rock type Pokemon.
Drake's-Neck Town: One knows they've arrived in Drake's-Neck Town by the miles upon miles of vineyards, as well as all sorts of produce. Drake's-Neck Town has the most famous produce, including wines. Hosts here are welcoming and actively give away food to Black Security Force members, as well as helping to feed Afflicted. Residents of Drake's-Neck Town are said to be amongst the friendliest. Many of the food for events are provided by residents and farms of Drake's-Neck Town. This town's Lead Protector, Elle, specializes in Psychic and Bug type Pokemon.
Brandy Town: Holed up on a large snowy plain between four mountain peaks, Brandy Town is a haven for Pokemon and humans that love ice. The weather drops below thirty degrees Fahrenheit on a regular night, and the day never goes above twenty degrees. Many of the residents here live in castle-like structures surrounded by leafless trees, hard like iron. Be prepared to bundle up. Most Afflicted cannot live in this town, so are sent either to Drake's-Neck Town or Eburnean City to be treated and housed. Brandy Town's Lead Protector, Donovan, specializes in Ice type Pokemon.
Eburnean City: While most towns and cities in Veriti are outside, Eburnean City is built inside a mountain. Homes are carved into the natural foundation of several mountains, and there's a large communal area in the middle of the mountain which used to be the pit of an active volcano, now long dead. Despite many thinking it would be claustrophobic to live inside a mountain, it's actually not so. Windows are built in each room to allow natural light, but where windows cannot be made, normally many Pokemon lend their light so the city is never dark. Half of the City was converted into a Zone for Afflicted. Eburnean City's Lead Protector, Ciri, specializes in Ground and Fighting type Pokemon.
Incarnadine Town: Most say Incarnadine Town has the most beautiful view of the entire region. This town is located at a perfect vantage point, which allows the residents to look out to see every town and city, even the ones blocked by mountains. Many of the residents live in either the mountainside or two to four story buildings. This town is built on four smooth mountainsides, and one such side is now dedicated to homes and a Zone for Afflicted. It's normally incredibly sunny and beautiful during the day, and the night is clear and bright. Several residents have created paths that lead to natural streams and lakes. Incarnadine Town's Lead Protector, Dolan, specializes in Dragon and Fairy type Pokemon.
---
Time in Veriti works differently than most regions. The way time works in Veriti is based off its history with ancient rulers, dynasties, cities, and empires, as well as conduits for a powerful Pokemon now believed dead. There are 7 Days in a Week, 4 Weeks in a Month, 9 Months in a Year, and 18 Years in a Cycle (There are also 3 Seasons in a Year, with 3 Months in each Season). Each Day is named after an Emperor during the period of Ancient Veriti – Zhou, Han, Shang, Sui, Yu, Yin, and Ren. Each Week is named after the four Dynasties/Empires of Ancient Veriti – Song Dynasty, Nebra Dynasty, Ming Dynasty, and Thinis Dynasty. Each month is named after the Nine Ancient Cities that were build after the Dynasties were split – Turin, Perdida, Daro, Abydos, Calak, Skara, Huni, Taxila, and Baka. Each Season is named after the Ancient Pokemon believed to be the Conduit Voices of the thought, long-dead Houlstyx – Scarabeam, Orakowl, and Destineye. Each Year in the Cycle represents a Typing of Pokemon, of the eighteen known since ancient times, in this order – Dragon, Fairy, Water, Fighting, Electric, Dark, Fire, Bug, Flying, Ground, Steel, Ice, Ghost, Normal, Grass, Psychic, Rock, and Poison.
Now, how does one write down the dates? Easy. Under the Spoiler is how the days, weeks, months, and seasons are broken down.

Ghost Year, Daro, Ming, Renday
Please note: You do not have to make note of the timeline if you don't want to. The timeline is just available if you'd like to add the Veriti base timeline.
FEW EXTRA NOTES:
Thanks for your interest in the roleplay! Here is a little bit of extra information on this RP. This RP is a completely Fakemon-exclusive RP. It features over 200 unique Fakemon. Each starter below is UNIQUE and can only be received as a starter, so choose wisely! All other Fakemon in the Dex can be found as the players travel through the region. Let me tell you how that'll work – most of the Fakemon in the Dex will be seen as silhouettes. Why? A big part of the game is that I'd love the players to discover new Fakemon through exploration or through evolution. Each location will have between three to five new Fakemon to find, and there will be times in the RP where you might be able to obtain Event-only Fakemon.
Now, what about evolution? Will there be unique ways for some of these Fakemon to evolve? Yes, that is the idea! Though all starters evolve simply by leveling up, a lot of Fakemon will have different methods of evolutions; some seen before and others completely unique to Veriti. Don't worry though, it will not be a shot in the dark; as Game Master, it is my job to help guide and take you through this adventure. In the Dex, even if a certain Fakemon evolution hasn't been discovered, I will explain the possible ways for you to evolve said Fakemon. For example: #(Number) – (Name) evolves into #(Number) – (Name) by achieving 3 Friendship Hearts or #(Number) – (Name) evolves into #(Number) – (Name) by reaching Level 25.
Friendship and Love are going to be important in this RP, and are also key to certain evolutions and bonds with your Pokemon. Friendship and Love will both be kept track in the official Team post (which I will feature in the first post of the Stage thread). Now, let me tell you how Friendship and Love can be raised. Every time your Pokemon raises three levels, they will get half a heart. You have to fill Friendship before you can fill Love, and you have to reach three full hearts of Friendship before Love will begin to be raised. There will be methods from time to time you can raise Friendship or Love without leveling, but those will be rare. Friendship is measured in red hearts, and Love is measured in violet hearts. Both Friendship and Love can achieve THREE hearts each.

There will also be a location in every town that acts as a Kitchen! This Kitchen is solely there for the sake of baking and creating PokePuffs! Pokepuffs also help you raise Friendship/Love without battling or raising levels! PokePuffs, however, can only be created using Berries, which will be found in wild routes between towns/cities. You will find them through me (The GameMaster) by Randomizer, and certain Levels of PokePuffs receive a certain amount of Berries to create, and certain Berries may count as more than one depending on rarity. Each Level of PokePuff raises a different amount of Friendship and Love, and below is the Level chart for your convenience:
Spoiler:
POKEPUFF LEVEL CHART
Note: These PokePuffs will raise the Friendship/Love of your Pokemon based on where the Level of their Friendship/Love currently is at the time of receiving PokePuff.
Level 1: Requires 4 Berries to Craft || Receive 2 PokePuffs

A Pokemon with the ability Pickup will increase your chances of finding more Berries!
Money and Items are also important in this game! If you run out of Pokeballs, you run out of Pokeballs until you arrive at the next town. At the start of the game, each player is given 500PD (PokeDollars), a Pokedex, and 5 Pokeballs to start, which will be tracked in the main Team page. You'll be able to find money and items as you travel, but you can also go to Pokemarts at local towns/cities and purchase specific items. They will have prices and I will subtract that from your total when you purchase an item. Every time you reach a new town or city, you'll also receive 150PD. Sometimes items may cost more than you have, but don't worry! If you leave that town, but still want that item, you can make a call to Professor Blackthorn to express your interest in said item. Speaking of Professor Blackthorn…
You'll be able to keep as many Pokemon with you as you want! Remember how I mentioned above that sometimes you might come across items that might be too pricey? You leave the town it's available in and then contact Professor Blackthorn to send money through your device and receive that item immediately. You can call this device QuickDev. QuickDev also acts as a PokeNav, and you can communicate with other people, such as family, friends, and can even receive news on any settled location in the region.

RULES:
1. Follow all PC and RPT rules. Please be respectful, polite, and kind to all fellow players.
2. The GM's word is law.
3. The rating of the RP is T (Teen), so please keep it to mild themes, including minimal swearing.
4. This is first-come-first serve! Meaning you cannot reserve a spot. Just try to get your sign-up as soon as possible.
5. Never god-mod another person's character; meaning, do not take control of them without their permission. However, if players work together and craft posts together, discuss it amongst yourselves, but I just don't want to see any issues arise from this. It is allowed to take anything they did already and react to it in your own post, though!
6. After each of your posts, I will paste your stats. If you capture a new Pokemon, I will list their level, moves, etc. If you battle, I will tell you how much experience your Pokemon has gained, if a new move can be learned, can evolve, etc. It's going to be done so this remains a fair system for all players.
SIGN-UP:

Personality: (In general, how does your character act? What are their quirks? Strengths/Weaknesses?)
Background: (Explain the background of your character before they were chosen for this journey.)
