T-Dome...A good addition?

Wow, it's a pokemon forum, so what, most of the people here are teens, and they oughta learn about this kind of thing. Some people have no real life friends(No offense to anyone), don't get along with their family, etc etc, so this is the perfect alternative for them

You all keep talking about T-Dome being 'an addition' to PC. It's not an addition unless you want it to be. That's why by default, none of the normal members can go to it. You actually have to exert some energy(no matter how small) to get into it.

It's not a sex forum either. It's for mature discussion. Some of you need to get a life and quit trying to find excuses to argue about a problem that doesn't affect you(or anyone else for that matter) unless you want it to.

I have no problem with the T-Dome, I don't see how one forum should be affecting PC in anyway, if you don't like it, don't go to it.

Awesome, but you have to realize that T-Dome is the hot tub, while the rest of the forums are the pool.

Don't go to the hot tub unless you want to xD

Ironically, I have a feeling that this thread about the TDome, may belong in the TDome. xD After all, although this is asking us for our opinion, it is pretty obvious that this is going to turn into a debate (then again, I'd like to see some opinions of people who don't go into the TDome, so I'd prefer if this thread stayed out of it).

Anyways, I do think that it is a good addition to PC. Although some people may not be interested in the kinds of discussions that go on in the T-Dome, it lets some members who want to talk about the real world and what is happening in it, to discuss them, without getting their threads closed. The best part about it is that it is optional, meaning, that the people who don't want to look at it, don't have to! Sure, there are some that do not approve of the TDome, but there are obviously a lot more that do. After all, the TDome wouldn't exist if most people didn't approve of it's creation.

Sure, you could, but people like to discuss things on forums, because that is the purpose of a message board; discussion. Sure, it is a Pokemon forum, but like some have said, some people do not just come because they are big fans of Pokemon. Some come because of the environment, or the activity of forums that they like like FanFiction, or RolePlay.

Yes, although we have to satisfy our members who prefer discussions about other things that would not fall into the T-Dome, we also have to satisfy our members who like to talk about things like Politics, or any other serious discussions if possible (which it is).

The reason why we are creating strange remarks is because it's not a good analogy. PC isn't a pool, nor the T-Dome a pool section. They are completely unrelated, and have no simularity debatable upon.




Also, people keep refering to the statement "This is a Pokemon forum". Maybe we should cut ALL of the off topic(by your definitions) forums out too!?

Heck, Music doesn't belong in a Pokemon Forum
Nor, Other games, or other entertainment.

Heck, lets cut the RPs out too, and take away Official Forums.

1. We don't need to. Thats why its optional. Don't join if you don't like it.
2. Sure they can. Is it our faults? No. If somebody wants to join something that they know they shouldn't, then thats their problem.

It seems that everyone forgets the simple, most important fact in this debate, and that is, that T-Dome is optional Batteries not included

1. Need? No, of course not. Then again, when do we ever need to talk about anything on a forum? Talking on a forum is a want, not a need. Going to school is a need (well, unless you want to be unemployed for the rest of your life), you don't need to post on forums.
2. Little kids could go on any forum, and could be witness to threads like those. Just because this is a pokemon forum doesn't mean that every thread should be rated G. Yes, little kids are more likely to come here, but there are still a lot of teens that come here too, and they'd like to discuss serious topics.

Oh...nope, in my first statement, I stated that people do get sick of talking all Pokemon, and that other stuff is necessary and perfectly healthy. But I'm just saying, do we really need the mature discussion thing? Can't you talk about it somewhere else?

Sure we need a mature discussion thing. How else are we supposed to talk about certain topics with our friends.

It's optional, if you don't want to talk about certain topics, then stay out.

There are only like two or three threads in there with the smallest relation to sex in the T-Dome. The rest of the threads usually deal with scientific, political, or society issues

When I first thought up the idea of the T-dome, I totally didn't want it to turn out like it did. I pesented it to the rest of the staff and they said it'd be a good idea, mature discussion always good...

But honestly, all we have now are dumb little kids who get off talking about nothing but sex cause they can;t get none in real life.

But I think the additions of important topics like Abortion, Homosexuality and politics outweigh the bad as little kids doing tons of sex topics...

Well, to be perfectly honest... I actually think that some people are going a bit too far in there now. I used to enjoy posting in it, but lately I've stopped and I never go in there just because some of the topics are just plain disgusting. No offense, but that's how I see it. I know that viewing it is optional for regular members, but as a Super Moderator I'm kind of forced (unless there's a way for me to not be able to see it without getting de-modded or something...) to see the topic title of the thread last posted in when I scroll down to the bottom of the page, and a few of the ones I've seen were quite gross. I know that sooner or later we'll all learn about certain things in life, but right now just doesn't seem like the time for me so I'm staying out of it! o_o

Sure I like the TDome as much as the next member, but did it belong at PC? I mean, do we need to be talking about s.e.x. at a POKEMON forum? To me, it just doesn't seem worthwhile. I think it degrades our image. The age limit rules aren't enforced well enough, letting kids talk about things that they shouldn't be.
I'm not against the TDome concept, I'm just asking, does it belong at PC?

That wasn't its original intent. It was for more mature discussion. Debates, somewhat, as well as stuff that wouldn't go elsewhere. Sex is a part of that, but not the whole thing.

I actually like it, and don't mind the topics, but my question was: Does it belong in a POKEMON forum.

The theme is Pok?mon, but again, this was for discussion broader than that, to entertain the maximum number of members. And we didn't want to alienate anyone who felt uncomfortable with it. Thus the required asking.

Careful, didn't you know how oversensitive some of our mods are? :P

Okay, look. You're all acting as if it's a sex forum. It isn't. There might be one or two active topics about it. But you know what? There's like…50 others that don't deal with that. You guys are taking one or two topics and blowing it up as an excuse. Quit it. Did no one see my announcement? We cut back on the specifics of sexuality in the T-dome.
