Well, I don't want to stumble amongst those depths of hell

What happened?

230898

The socialists (90 seats) proposed a coalition agreement to the centre-right liberals (40 seats). Since majority is 175 seats and clearly that agreement goes nowhere, the socialists then tried to guilt-trip the three left parties into passing it "or else you'll be responsible if there are new elections". The lefties proceeded to walk off and tell them to ask the conservatives for support if they are into right-wing parties so much now. So, since the king appointed socialist leader Pedro Sánchez, he'll have to go to Parliament next week and get a large 200+ vote rejection thrown at his face, with both the conservatives and the lefties saying no. The lefties then will try to propose him a left-wing coalition, but chances are the socialists will play the victims and cry that "we are the only decent left here see everybody else voting with the conservatives against us waah wahh".

Pretty fun.

Ngl, that sounds Trumpy as hell.

Gotta love political parties.

EDIT - Ech, no wait, Trump is conservative. Nevermind, nevermind.

It's a bit more complex because we have four levels.

Conservatives (right): 28% (total vote share) - liberals (centre right) 13% - socialists (centre-left) 22% - commies and co. (left) 24%.

Well, in most European countries what we mostly see is "how the hell are people actually willing to vote for Trump"

Guilt-trips, warring lefties and socialists, centre parties that go with whatever is the flow, right-wing crying because they won't be appointed though they had the most voting, socialist leader struggling to get agreements with the rest of the left. Sounds familiar.

More of a leveled distributed mess than what we have over here. Also lol'd at your adorable "commies and co." label :P

Why are people asking me to cover their shifts? I want to relax but then m$one$y

Ah, I'm always so conflicted when that happens. It's so annoying to come in on my day off but it IS extra money. I almost always go because they really need me and I'd feel bad if my team was short a member.

Add the bonus part of the king appointing conservative sitting PM first, but... he rejected the appointment because he was going to lose the confidence vote.

Also the Co. is because the "lefties" is a mishmash of 5 parties that went into sorta-coalitions in some places and separately in others. The full name is "Podemos, las confluencias, Compromís e Izquierda Unida-Unidad Popular".

I don't like my family so I'd do that in a heartbeat. c:

In 2013, I worked for most of the Christmas time.

My family was 12,000km accross the ocean so didn't mind it much.
