Team Rocket ... Are In Alola?

I am still convinced Team Rocket are linked to Mewtwo. The games were too lazy to make Mewtwo apart of their plot and/or post game.

Why should i get excited for Team Rocket in USUM if they are not aiming for a legendary? It just be a boring post game in which they did mostly nothing. Team Rocket should for once target a legendary instead of aiming small like RBY, FRLG, GSC & HGSS.

But there's no reason for them to go after a legendary? That won't help them achieve their goal..... Which one would they go after anyways? And why should the player care?

And the games aren't "lazy". The legendaries were likely supposed to be hidden away, and not supposed to be something everyone knows about.

Going after a legendary would actually benefit them. If they need to ensure that no one messes with their plans then a legendary would be a perfect trump card.

Mewtwo would make the most sense. It would definitely be a big help to their plans if they got hold of it.

Giovanni in the previous games would have been a force of nature if he had Mewtwo under the belt.

The fact that Team Rocket still did not go for a legendary when in Johto proves how useless and incompetent they were.

I love stories with evil teams who try getting their hands of legendaries. It makes them more interesting.

All these complaints about Gen I pandering because of Team Rocket's return makes these modern fans just as bad as genwunners. We don't want this fanbase to become worse than the Sonic fanbase, Zelda fanbase, Minecraft fanbase, FNAF fanbase, Fire Emblem fanbase, Bendy Fanbase, Metroid fanbase, Final Fantasy fanbase, and Smash fanbase (at least the Cuphead fanbase is doing fine for now).

People can complain all they want, GameFreak will just put whatever they want into THEIR creation, and Pokemon will remain one of the top sellers anyway.

3. Fans are dumb and toxic
^ Spot on, I know someone particularly like this, so toxic we are Fairy types.

It is rude to call other fans dumb and toxic. Not to mention that it makes the person who said that just as bad. Please keep it civil. No need to resort to insults and rudeness.

Anyway, team rocket appearing is another kanto pandering that we don't need. Hope they are smart enough to go after/use Mewtwo this time.

Sagacious!

I was a bit saddened when I heard from the nugget bridge guys that Team Rocket had been long gone in Kanto. I always hoped that Team Rocket would just become more and more sinister, until they became the most evil and powerful criminal organization in the Pokemon world. Sort of like how DARK was in the Kikaider series, which is how I've always thought of Team Rocket.

The prospect of Team Rocket taking over the Aether Foundation makes them a serious threat, serious enough that Legendaries aren't even required. Aether has some pretty sophisticated technology, on top of their research into Pokemon, Ultra Beasts, and most likely now Ultra Space and the Ultra Recon Squad as possible allies to you and Aether. That's some pretty serious s*** for Team Rocket to get their hands on, it's almost scary.

I diagree. Taking over the aether foundation was no different to siph co. It was basically a terrible plot.

Legendaries are required otherwise evil teams are just pointless and have a useless story/plot. FRLG & HGSS showed how boring team rocket was.

Do we really need team rocket to be boring once again?

I don't think you understand what I'm trying to say here. The Aether Foundation are a hell of a lot more advanced in technology and research than Silph co. If Team Rocket gets their hands on the Ultra Space research and Aether' s technology, and quite possibly access to Ultra Megaopolis, they can do some serious damage to the Pokemon universe in the games.

I do not think team rocket is that smart. I doubt they would come up with a plan like that.

and Team flare was chasing after Zygard not Xerneas or yveltal right? Games were just too lazy to put Zygard!

grunts? yes. But giovanni? He is smart enough to have influnce in two regions ( and so far Team Rocket are only teams to have base of operation on two regions)

On the topic of chasing legendaries, I would prefer that they didn't. We've seen that so much already in the last few games.

I want to see an evil team that is formidable in their own right. And one that isn't morally ambiguous where their motives are understandable, but misguided (such as wanting to make the world a better place... by going to extremes).

I want a powerful, wealthy evil team that wants nothing more than to seek more power and wealth, and cause chaos. One that is a force to be reckoned with, without needing a legendary at their side.

Obviously we won't get this in USUM, but for future games I would actually like it for the evil team to be so powerful from the get go that it is the protagonist and their allies that need to seek out the legendary in order to stop them. Perhaps a fresh spin on the gym system could be to have 8 people hidden around the region who have sworn to protect the location of the legendary - and we need to seek them out and win a battle against them in order to receive a piece of a map or a cryptic clue leading to the legendary's location (taking the role of gym badges). In the end the protagonist tracks down the legendary, captures it, and then rides it into battle against the evil team.

Sorry, I got sidetracked a bit there haha. But long story short, I agree that Team Rocket being a formidable force in their own right, without the need for them to hunt a legendary, would be best for this game.

Ok... so I tried posting this on my blog, but couldn't because I don't quite have access to it just yet. But I came up with a theory... what if Necrozma was actually created by this supposed Rainbow Rocket?

Spoiler:

I apologize in advance, this theory most likely has a butt-ton of holes in it...

Do you think they look awesome?

Welp, this image has more rainbows on it, on their logo. It was kinda hard to make out on Lusamine's mansion in the leaked picture, to me anyways. I wonder just how much of the RR portion of the Chinese Riddler thing was right. JEEZE WHY ISN'T IT THURSDAY ALREADY.
