  • I don't find any pokemon particularly terrible. All pokemon can be great if you put in the effort to train them as such. If you really like a pokemon and you want it to shine, then don't be afraid to use it. Luvdisc could be considered terrible, yet I love using it. Whenever I train it, it's not really terrible.

  • Unown
    Bidoof
    Rattata

Zubat isn't included because I've used Crobat to great effect in both XD Gale of Darkness and Platinum.

Back when I played Yellow, I should mention that Pikachu was a COMPLETE letdown... It went down far too easily and couldn't KO foes that my other Pokemon could easily finish off.

  • I was disappointed with Kricketune. It had great design, but it was extremely hard to train because of lame moveset.

Oh, yeah, I forgot about Kricketune. I was disappointed too. I wouldn't even mind bad stats, but the terrible moveset just made it impossible to use.

Shedninja is... not useless per se, but incredibly awkward.
Anything rock-type is going to have a hard time
Ditto wastes a turn transforming and is no better than its opponent for it.
Wild cocoon monsters have no damaging moves.
Unown are plot-devices unworthy of anything beyond collection.
Bidoof is to Shinō what Rattata is to Kanto, thus redundant.
Abra can only teleport (or has this changed?).

So on, so forth. I'm not going to spend my entire day listing these things; they're usually obvious enough.
But I'd like to say, while Zubat is annoying in its abundance, it's far from useless. Confuse ray, screech, bite — great little thing.

  • Zubat until it learns Wing Attack.

Zubat used Leech Seed. Does 1-2 damage.
