The Adventures of Pok?mon!
Welcome all trainers, to The Adventures of Pok?mon, basically a posting challenge here on Previous Generations where you'll be able to obtain all manner of pok?mon, and all sorts of items! The posts you do here on Previous Generations will also determine how well your pok?mon will grow. There will also be some charming events where you can use the pok?mon you obtained to do various things, mainly contest battles.
How to sign up:
To sign up, all you have to do is fill out the form here:
You can also choose one stater pok?mon that you like. The starter pok?mon can be one of these pok?mon below:
Once you've gotten your starter, you'll also be given
50 Gems! Once that happens, you'll be recorded and all ready to go!
I'll provide an example on how signing up it should typically look:
Username: Dragon
Trainer Class: Kimono Girl (Gen 2)
Starter: Eevee
What are these 'Gems?'
Gems are like the currency in this system. To obtain more Gems, all you have to do is post! For every post you do, you'll obtain
5 Gems. It's wise to save up on them, as you'll need to use these Gems to obtain new and rare pok?mon!
Obtaining New Pok?mon
Yes, as said, you'll be able to obtain other new Pok?mon in this system through the usage of the Gems you collect. Ever so often there will be a scenario, or banner, where different Pok?mon will appear. Here's an example below:
Focus Banner: Streak in The Game Corner! (RBY)
Focus Pok?mon:
Appearance Rates:
Super Rare
Porygon 5%
Dratini 5%
Rare
Scyther 10%
Pinsir 10%
Abra 10%
As you can see, there are focus pok?mon in each banner or scenario, where there is a chance that you'll be able to obtain these rare pok?mon that you wouldn't normally get anywhere else. There are also some common pok?mon in each banner too, in case you don't get a rare pok?mon.
Once you see a banner, it costs 5 Gems each to obtain a Pok?mon from it, or you can use 50 Gems to obtain 10 Pokemon at once. So, to demonstrate, I'll obtain 3 pok?mon from this banner right now, using 15 Gems:

Every time you use Gems to obtain new Pok?mon, they'll get a random generated moveset, with four moves. There's a chance that it can get a powerful random TM move too. So, even if you get two of the same pok?mon, they both can have completely different moves!
In addition, you'll be able to get similar pok?mon with different sprites too, depending on the banner. Different sprite arts from each gen will be able to have moves from the respective gen it's from.
Can the Pok?mon evolve?
Yup! To have one of your pok?mon evolve, you'll just need to make 10 posts altogether here on the Past Generation board (or in other words, 10 posts for each pok?mon that needs to evolve). That includes any evolution methods you can think of. Yes, at times, you'll get pok?mon that have more than one evolution that it can evolve to, for example, Eevee can evolve into multiple pok?mon, based on what stone you give it.
On that regard, you can choose which evolution the pok?mon will evolve to! Like for instance, if you get said Eevee and you'd want it to evolve into a Jolteon, just mention that in your update post once you make your required 10 posts. Again, that's only for pok?mon that has a branched evolution.
Once your Pok?mon evolves, it can learn a new move that it could learn via level-up! However, if your pok?mon has 4 moves already, you'll have to delete one of its older moves before learning its new move, or you can choose to obtain from learning a new move altogether.
Ribbons, Medals and other awards
Ribbons and Medals are the achievement system here. If you win a contest, or do something good overall in the Previous Generation board, you can obtain one of these for your portfolio! There are a bunch of them to collect!
