Dude, I feel for you. I remember back when I was playing for in a Soccer U-13 League and I suffered from a mild form of shin splints. That was only a mild version of it and it was, and still is, some of the worst pain I've ever felt. And it's not just the pain, it's the fact that nothing can be done about it other than to stop running, which is easier said than done when you love doing it. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, I ended up having to stop running for a few months any due to another completely unrelated injury I sustained. So, I guess it all worked out in the long run.I have more of a habit of getting sport-related injuries. I have bad knees thanks to rugby, a lame back thanks to football and weight lifting, and shin splints thanks to cross country. =X
And a weak back sucks too. Because you always use your back, even when sitting on the sofa just turning your body. I remember one time I was bed bound for almost a week with a bad back because one day I was leaning over the side of the couch to pick up the TV guide and, as my body was twisted, I sneezed, pulling some muscles. It was embarrassing having to explain that injury to the doctor. XD
That's my contribution for the night.
