Brozong walls dragons quite effectivley. Having Levitate makes it worse.

Well i was thinking of Skarmory and Steelix too, despite super effective moves there both physical.

I don't think the plan was ever to send Dragonite out against them, but do we have anyone with a (preferably) sp. fire move. And i don't think Fire punch at least is an option on Dragonite.

Well for a physical sweeper it can go for one of the dragons. But we really need a special sweeper that has Surf and Ice Beam in it's arsenal. I am going to bring up Milotic and Starmie again.

What? Go to bed, Punish! I have insomnia, so there goes my beauty sleep. Now, I don't want to bring Milotic up again. It's annoying. But I will gladly vouche for Starmie.

My vote foes for Starmie, too.

And for Dragonite, I prefer fire punch over thunder punch on the grounds that my Salamence has thunder fang and I almost never need to use it, but when it comes down to fire punch... I always need it to take some annoying steel type like Bronzong...

For special sweeper, I have my complete votes on Gengar for 2 sweeper-common immunities

I concur, and for the last time STARMIES SPECIAL ATTACK MAX IS THE SAME AS GASTLYS! Is that not sending up a red flag? Surf maybe we need, but Ice Beam, well we have 2 ice moves, powerful ones too. (If HP Ice is good enough)

Your point is? 328 is a number you shouldn't laugh at. If Starmie was up against a Gengar who would win? Starmie obviously since it outspeeds.

Starmie has remained potent throughout the metagame. In fact it is one of the few Pokemon that has remained OU for all four gens. 266 is the magic number to OHKO any Dragon Pokemon with no EVs in Special Defense with Ice Beam. I like Starmie more because she is faster and has a very wide movepool that gives you bang for your buck. Not to mention it has the useful Natural Cure ability.

HP Ice is powerful but it is on Jolteon. As a lead Pokemon it will be in harms way. If it gets knocked out we have no potent Ice move. Ice Shard is powerful but it wont kill a rampaging dragon.

Surf and STAB for obvious reasons. Same with Psychic. Finally there is Thunderbolt which gives it an edge against other water types. Not to mention she can support with Rapid Spin.

Yes true but unlike Salamence, Dragonite can have the sp def to risk going up against a Milotic, Starmie or any pokemon like that.

Which leads me to agree with Punishement, I didn't actually know what gastly's max sp, Atk was, but because of movepool and a much needed water attack.
We'll just have to max Starmie's sp. atk but i like the idea.

Gengar and Starmie come out
Starmie gets Gengar with a not super effective move down to lower HP
Gengar uses Thunderbolt or Shadow Ball as he wishes.
Starmie gets KO'd.

Anyways, Starmies max speed is only 11 better. not counting all the Pokemon with the same max, Gengar is only 2 spots lower on the top 100. Purugly is in the middle. Gengar has a diverse movepool and killer speed and special attack.

I still say Starmie. Saying it has the same sp.atk as Gastly isn't insulting Starmie, it's complimenting Gastly. And that senario doesn't mean much. I say Star cause, well, boltbeaming, and its Recovery options, as well as being able to absorb status attacks.

Yeah but Gar has 3 immunities in his favour, and can also cause disruption with the use of Hypnosis + Wide Lens (sure sleep clauses effects this but still)

My vote is for Gengar

Fine, Starmie, but Gengar can avoid 3 types as noted by diablo who posted before me sadly, and has a good moveset still. But Starmie it is. Now is DDnite official for sweeper? I would suggest Metagross if Bronzong didn't fill in his type, and what about CBcross?

Punishment, this is why Gengars carry Focush Sashes, but Starmies are now either ChoiceScarfed/Modest or ChoiceSpecs/Timid, but it really doesn't matter who beats who Punishment, as it matters through teamwork as Blissey suffers from Close Combats which Gengar can take without any trouble. Gengar has immunities above average, I'll give you that :)

Ok, well I settled for Starmie because I thought I was fighting a losing battle, but now I have help! Gengars immunities and his amazing speical attack are amazing for him.

Gengar also o*ns SubPunching Breloom being immune to both it's attack moves (Seed Bomb, Focus Punch) Switching in on Breloom's Focus Punch works quite well

Gyarados damn sure has Waterfall. There is absolutely no arguement there.
