Gengar had lower sp attack compared to others . why not run a scarfed porygon-Z , that has alot of power ,
 
because porygon-Z has adapbilty , and that make a tri attack from 75 to 150 , that's like a hyper beam beat that , also it has 5 more in special attack . and is definetly more sturdy , with the weakness of fighting which is pretty covered here .

Porygon Z doesn't have an Earthquake, normal, and fighting resist, not to mention a spikes resist. Gengar also has WoW and Hypnosis at its disposal.

Gengar is also a lot faster without having to scarf it. There's a reason Gengar is used so much more.

Pory Z is less sturdy then Gengar since gengar has immunities and resists to work off of. Also, Tri Attack has 80 base power >.> Double STAB still isn't unbeatable and can be predicted with a simple switch to Bronzong or any sturdy steel (or a ghost).

Gengar can hit every single pokemon in the game for some serious damage, even Blissey takes a hit. Sorry, but if you have to hyper beam to kill Blissey, it really isn't worth it...


Pory Z doesn't even fit in well with this team since it has the same Special Attacking coverage as Starmie does, adding Dark Pulse (and STAB sahdow ball beats dark pulse any day.)
 
well ok i just wanted to bring that up , umm does the current team run weezing or gliscor?
 
I'm not even gonna pretend to remain calm, as I am getting fed up with MANY things. MANY things indeed.

First, I don't know how it is on shoddy, & I don't care. 80% accuraccy doesn't miss all that much. On WIFI, the most you'll miss is 2/5 times. I can understand your issues with PP, that's fine, but I am getting very impatient with people constantly bringing up shoddy. The accuraccy isn't THAT bad AT ALL. I've battle tons of Gliscor with SE, which made it impossible for me to Dance. I
ve also battled many Aerial Ace Gliscor, which also gave me problems. Never Ice Fang, for some reason.

Second, jb, if oyu post here one more time with some random bullcrap that makes no sense, I will not hesitate to report. It is getting VERY annoying, as it seems like you are only doing this to "fit in", like a kid trying to hang out with his big brother's friends. I couldn't care less if you post, but MAKE SURE IT"S INTELLEGENT. Just because you state out the obvious like "Staraptor is an awesome Hera counter, with Brave Bird & it's SPD. Just keep it away from electrics", doesn't make you sound smart. Makes you sound proud to know the bare basics.

Third, As much as I love Porygon-Z, Anti is right, he doesn't fit into this team. Granted, I can deal with a Gengar anyday, yet I always shake in my boots at Porygon-Z, he won't fit in this team.

Honestly, I think SR or Knock off would be better over Ice Fang. The only reason I think it should go there is if we have some mammoth Fear of Aerodactyl, in which case it might be a good idea (though I actually would rather put it over AA...we maintain a reliable move with good coverage and can still use our support slot).


On a sidenote, I think we should have a torment user on this team. Sounds totally random, but it annoys the crap out of any Choice Item user, which will force a switch. Or the TrickBand.Torment combo Zam can run.

Eh, probably not after further thought, but I think this team really should have an annoyer of sorts (the good annoyers, like subseeders, not the double team crap).

What about a mixed wall Torment T-tar? Pump some Def EV's, the rest HP and a small amount of Sp. Atk.

Dude Im sick, bronchitis, and STUPID POSTS AREN'T HELPING!!! Now that we seem to bre using Weezing, and Heracross which was new to me, we do need something that can switch into stuff fairly well. That T-Tar just looks, not exactly amazerific. How about a Togekiss? Ok yes Togekiss isn;t really a mixed wall, unless you;re like me and go full defenses and HP, and a paraflincher. Ok that not the greatest idea. Mixed wall, Bronzong, Dusknoir, (There goes the psychic weak), Cresellia (Nvm no legends), Claydol. I say Dusknoir helps counter for this team.

POSt 2008 on this thread and its the year 2008!!! Ok yeah Im done.

Well... I always were for Weezing and Gengar; I've never tried paraflinching Togekiss (it could be good for sweeping).
and you guys are saying that we don't have enough sweeping power yet you're suggesting to remove Nape? (the skarmbliss counter!!).. hmm BIG psychic weak, I know you discissed this before but... Weavile anyone? we DO need sweeping the best Zam counter and I personnally love pursuit.

I agree, three Pokémon that are weak to Psychic isn't a good thing. Why not use a Dragon-type physical sweeper over Heracross here? We'd still have a counter to Heracross, right? It seems to me a Salamence would be pretty good here. Then we could add a Forretress or Skarmory or something.

I think Infernape should go. It can't switch into anything and dies really fast. I'm actually thinking Azelf would be better than Gengar in this circumstance...for our special sweeper.

Or better DD mence w/Fire Blast. As we need something that can "Stat up" and sweep.

Snorlax is horrible this gen due to the invention of Special fighting moves and other ridiculously powerful sp.atters , even Blissey has trouble, but can actually survive Aura Spheres and Focus Blasts and Nasty Plot Tri Attacks and Psychics from Porygon-Z and Azelf respectively, Snorlax gets 2HKO'D by all those, whilst Blisses doesn't. And as you said Blissey provides team support, So Blissey >> Snorlax 99% of the time.


Also apparently we arnt allowed to use legendaries for this which is stupid as they are OU and therefore standard. Azelf however is amazing and one of the few Sp.Sweepers that can actually break and beat blissey.

I say we get to be allowed to use legendary Pokémon anyway. It's not like we're using ubers.

Synchronize / Inner Focus or Levitate?
Azelf is lighter.
Alakazam has better Special Attack and Speed.
Azelf has better HP, Attack, Defense, and Special Defense.
Azelf can learn U-Turn, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Explosion, and Stealth Rock.
Alakazam can learn Focus Blast.

Hmm. Seems like Azelf is better.

It is. Still, we must respect the thread starter's wishes.

Stat-uppers are basically for late-game, in early game they generally don't do so well IMO. I've always thought DDmence was just an inferior copyof Dragon Dance Dragonite, and I stand by that. If anything, we should use that...
