The Bulbasaur Race [Part 2]

Other than the lore of TPP, my absolute favorite thing that came out of the TPP fandom is this little gem:

Spoiler:

So meaningful <3

18 I used a Pidgeot on my Y replay and it was pretty good~

My favorite birds would have to be Swellow, Staraptor, and Talonflame. :D

Dodrio isn't bad, but I find it a bit weird how it can learn Fly, haha.

Spoiler:

We're onto Kangaskhan: 10

Pidgeot is okay, but it learns its moves too late. I mean Wing Attack in level 38? C'mon, Starly can learn that move in level 9!

I never watched TPP, except for a few seconds when I wanted to see what it was about. But I have a gripe when I'm watching someone play a video game incompetently, even if it's an experiment to see if a large group of people can play one video game. So I couldn't keep watching.

The lore of TPP is fascinating, and a fun read to see how everything came together. But I'm really glad that the "heyday" of TPP seems to be over, and Pokemon discussions aren't overrun with forced memes about Lord Helix and whatever.

I mean, TPP is still going, but it seems like everyone still enjoys the first season best with Lord Helix and ATV and everything like that. As soon as that magic adventure was over, TPP just kind of became a once-in-a-while mention.

Personally I'm not someone that watches others play a lot at all, I prefer playing a game myself. Still, TPP was a great experiment, but once they finished playing Red all got less interesting. At first it was new (which always means it's more interesting) and then it was finished. The second playthrough was just a repeat of the first regarding its style and yeah, one try was enough as experiment.

Starly seriously learns Wing Attack at level 9? I... wow. No wonder I found it so much easier to use. :P

It gets even stranger if you look at Wing Attack's base power in Gen I: 35, that's less than Gust nowadays! And even then Pidgeot didn't learn the move before level 31.

13 Wow, such a weak move that late in gen I? C'mon Pidgeot!

Man, I can't believe that I've never noticed these things! But on the bright side, there ways always HM Fly as a suitable alternative, but I'm not sure what the average levels are by the time you get that HM in Generation I.

How strong are your teams by the 4th Gym, usually? Just a quick estimate will do!

(You can talk about any generation, by the way.)

In Emerald, the 4th leader was Flannery, right? My team consists of level 33's. If I remember correctly :p I guess I was a teeny bit strong.

In Kanto HM Fly could be obtained near Celadon City, so that's 4th Gym-ish (~lv.30-32 I think), but in Emerald for example it was somewhere between Gyms 5 and 6, but I don't think you have much higher levels there because the fifth Gym is directly after the fourth.

Btw, Fly also used to have a lower base power in the early days, 70 prior to Gen IV.

20 Safe!

It seems like a lot of moves got a boost :>

Shame that you need to trade with someone to have a Kingdra.

That isn't too bad compared to Wing Attack, right? You said it had 35 base power in Generation I, so that's like half the strength. XD
