The Bulbasaur Race [Part 2]

Actually, I quite like the plot of Mystery Dungeon games. It's difficult to say the plot is bad compared to the main game's because it's rather different. Mystery Dungeon has a much lighter theme and it's a lot more relaxing than the main game is (mostly).

I agree! PMD has much more story than the main series, where it's the same global adventure every time where the player collects badges and fights the regional evil team.

You can actually bring up a topic yourself, you know. :) (Or start playing Mystery Dungeon so you can take part, I really recommend it.) But here goes, staying close to PMD: what's your favorite spin-off game?

My favourite spin off games would be a tie between the 2 PMD games I've played(Sky and GTI) and Conquest is a close second. Conq peobably would have won if it had better plot and if the ghost castle was less troublesome, but it's decent otherwise. I like the idea of mons communicaring, hence, I like PMD, and hence, it is my current favourite. My least favourite spinoff would have to be Rumble World... Not that I hated it, but I tried it and it kinda felt a bit boring to me. Sorry if I hurt anybody's feelings.

This. While I can't speak for Gates to Infinity (considering I've never played it before), Explorers of Sky has the most well-written plot out of any Pokémon game I've ever played, and is easily better than the main series games in that regard. The story utilizes a stunning amount of depth, background, plot setup, and character development which all add up to a very compelling story, despite seeming overly light-hearted at the beginning.

I'll admit that the Rescue Team games had a pretty simplistic story, but they were still likable nonetheless. More importantly, they have nothing to do with the Explorers games, so you won't be missing anything if you start out with Explorers of Sky. (Well, other than musical references, haha.)

That would have to be Explorers of Sky for me, haha. However, Explorers of Time/Darkness aren't necessarily obsolete, because they're technically more tragic, if you know what I mean.

I've really enjoyed playing Mystery Dungeon and the TCG Game. The TCG is fun and it's a lot easier to obtain cards for a decent deck in the game than from real cards (if you don't spend tons of money on it.)
I've played Ranger and Shuffle too, but I they're not as good. Ranger just didn't appeal to me and Shuffle is one of those free-to-play games with a difficulty set to high if you're not paying money.
Conquest is one of those games I really want to try, it looks very good. I really wonder why they haven't given it a sequel.

7 I haven't played anything outside the main games xD Was never interested

How are Explorers of Time and Darkness more tragic than Explorers of Sky? As far as I'm concerned, they do have the same plot.

The main difference is the lack of Special Episodes in Time/Darkness. Which means...

Spoiler: Don't open this if you hate getting spoiled!
Grovyle, Celebi, Dusknoir, and the Pokémon of the future actually stay dead at the end of Time/Darkness.

However, in Sky, they somehow survive, but at least we get a pretty epic side-story to compensate for that.

Anyone else tend to restart their games after their done the first time?

I don't really, I don't want to lose my progress. To prevent having too many save files of the same game when doing challenges, I restart them after trading my team and important items to one of my other games. xD
