Yeah, I still really like the idea of Pokemon, but I've just lost a lot of the interest I used to have in playing the games. I actually have a copy of OmegaRuby that I haven't played, and I just realized that I've now had it for over six months o.o

I feel the XY anime might end just as hated as BW was, mainly due to the complaints I'm hearing about the AmourShipping stuff and also the fact that Serena does little-to-no battling.

I find it so hard the cute ones are hated. The fact female leads have to settle for goals that writers consider "feminine" while leaving all the Gyms for Ash and his rivals only.

But I think it's the variation of goals in Pokémon which makes it good. No matter if it's the Pokémon League, Pokémon Contest or Pokémon Showcase, as long as it means having a bond, that's great.

This makes me wonder a bit if there are any females who are focusing on battling yet (besides of Misty).

The only other one I could recall was Iris. I know May and Dawn had battling moments but most of the time they still focused on contests. Serena's only battles so far were the Summer Camp stuff, Aria (in the episode where Fennekin evolved) and Team Rocket.

I don't pay very much attention to the anime, but I do like how it showcases that trainers can do more than just solely battle, which is an aspect that is largely missing from the games.

And funnily enough those who loved BW seem to not like XY and vice versa. And then there is me. Who loves both.

I'm part of that minority too! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to catch up with XY ever since XY072 (the haunted house episode), but I'll try to keep up to date after the Get-Together ends and whatnot.

That's the dub's fault, not the anime itself haha. But it seems the majority of viewers would prefer to watch it in English, so I guess it can't be helped. (I prefer to watch the subbed version, though.)

Wait, the English subtitles are different than the English dub?

Someone messed up the counter again? Crap.

Anyways, I feel like the one problem with the English dub is that they are literally replacing almost all the music tracks due to licensing issues and the fact they'd have a compulsory order to pay the owner every time his work is used.

Don't worry! The counter in the Bulbasaur Race works differently, so it shouldn't be messed up at the moment.

But yeah, I totally agree about the dub's music being problematic. It lacks the emotion that the original music has, which really does make a big difference.

*thinks of Serena's epic haircut scene*

I watched both versions of that and I agree the Japanese does a much better job with the music because the dubbed one was just tranquil and didn't build up well enough. The Japanese version handles the music tracks so well, but sadly at the expense of making dubbers not allowed to go anywhere near it by forcing them to pay tons of money when the tracks get used and as we know the dubbing companies can't afford it.
