I just want to say that while Nidoking was the clear MVP on my team, the other three main members (Kadabra, Hypno, and Muk) all contributed significantly (and Vileplume was okay for a while too). Hypno in particular was invaluable against Psychics, and Muk was necessary in taking down Lance's Gyarados in particular. Kadabra beat Bruno by himself, but he really wasn't able to do much else in the E4, although he was very useful during the game especially since he had Dig.
Here are my final movesets:
Nidoking: Earthquake, Horn Drill, Strength, Rock Slide
Hypno: Confusion, Hypnosis, Body Slam, Psychic
Kadabra: Psybeam, Recover, Dig, Psychic
Muk: Disable, Thunderbolt, Minimize, Sludge
Vileplume: Mega Drain, PoisonPowder, Stun Spore, Sleep Powder
Also, I was thinking that you should have to have every team member within 5 levels of each other at the end of the game or something, so that what I did wouldn't be possible, soloing at the end with Nidoking (although I actually didn't solo as much as I thought I needed to, and I used most of my Rare Candies on him at the end too), and the game would also go slower since you have to put time into training your team, especially if you have to change types or someone gets boxed or something.
As far as the ending for Ruby/Sapphire, maybe it could be capturing Rayquayza, although a capture at the end seems lame because all you need is the Master Ball. Lati@s does have merit though, since you have to look for it and could potentially get shut down or overtaken.
I think something we could do if Lati@s is the ending moment is that a Sudden Change used on someone looking for Lati@s would have to beat the E4 again with the new types or something, so they aren't immune to that particular item. That would give others time to catch up and extend the game.
I also think there should be a Lottery item that takes away points on its own (not the Friend Ether).
And there should be more than one item given away each day, but not to the same person, and the second roll shouldn't include the Black Out.
As far as the actual challenge, I'm fine with the dual monotype. Not sick of them yet! I'm not real sure what other challenge we could try. The Sudden Change item would need to be changed however.
Here's an idea relating to the rankings, for the future though.
If we are able to find a way to do different challenges, we can keep track of how players finish and give them ranking points. Every time we finish a game/challenge, we add it to our score. That would also allow us to replay games (with different challenges) as well.
anyway, there's some random thoughts. anybody else?

Well, one idea that has merit is to reduce the amount of points or actions that gain points.Well I'm writing rules and instructions down now and something is bugging me.
Jes said I shouldn't make points have to do with winning the game (my idea of 3 people finish but the one with the most points is the winner) because the purpose should be to buy items, but all the items anyone cares about (wrist watch, black out, etc we decided should be lottery items so many people wouldn't be spending their points. Idk.
Also I want this to be a lot like an rpg within an rpg so I thought about quests. For example what if it was something like "Catch all Pokemon and obtain items in this cave" if you completed that you'd get a special treasure chest that contains all sorts of goodies.
Also what will the challenge itself be? Aren't you all sick of monotypes?
