Yeah, I thought I'd drop by with my opinion, in case anyone cares. :P
I'm all for the revival of "The Clan" and under that name and that name only.
I'm also all for BeachBoy becoming the leader. I think it was actually World King and I that suggested it a few pages back.
I also agree with sims that NoS should have the position of Founder, out of respect. But giving her leadership right back if she returns doesn't feel right for me, and I'll tell you why.
I joined the Clan near the end of January this year, having only been participating in the WBS since mid-November. The Clan was under the control of Okami, and he instituted this rule, which is found on the front page of the thread:
How to Join
This is not an organization for new players, and not for those who cannot behave themselves.
In order to join, you need to show that you have skill in pokemon battling and can act maturely. Contact one of the Clan Leaders in the list below and ask to be admitted. You will then battle under conditions set by that person. If your battle sufficiently proves your skill or if you have previously demonstrated your skill to the tester in other battles, then you will be admitted. Admittance is not necessarily determined by your victory.
This, above all else, is what made me join the Clan. Here was a group of some of the best battlers on the site, and in order to join, I had to impress them. I did, and I was allowed in. Furthermore, I became a recruiter, and I was actually the recruiter who tested Ichaste Pekoni. So under the lead of Okami, the clan flourished, and even though Okami was planning on leaving soon, everything was going well. And then, NoS shows up. I don't want to make it seem as if she's an awful person, because from what I know of her, she isn't. But let me quote some of her posts after returning so you can see what I mean.
In response to goldenhammerhead's request to join,
I have no problem with you joining the clan. No critiera required. Not sure where this clan ranks thing came from but since everyone seems to like it. Ill keep it.
No criteria? That's contradicting the How to Join. :(
Yes we should test people to get in the clan.The Clan will lose its respect if we have noobs here.
I want to point this out, Please do not be ignorant to people who arent not good at battling.
The statement above is a very rude and inconsiderate message to people who want to get better. This clan was originally made to help people to get better. NOT to keep bad players from being good ones or keeping bad players from joining. That is NOT what this clan original purpose. Somehow in my absence this all changed and im changing it back to the way it used to be. The point of this is to allow players to get better while being in a friendly environment. NOT keep them away because of the fact that they arent as good as YOU want them to be.
That is how you earn respect. Not by shutting out lesser players.
As far as this Recruiter business is concerned. Anyone can recruit whoever they want. But the CURRENT recruiters will do the testing. I will be testing everyone personally myself really soon when i get my game up to speed.
So now the awesome ingroup of great battlers is open to anyone? Although not very descriptive, the very first Clan thread, posted by NoS, said this regarding entrance.

So it seemed from the beginning that the idea was to make sure members had some level of skill by testing against NoS or Richard. What happened to that?
If you want to see the entire argument, go to the second page of this thread and read. Obviously, the ideals the clan held for so long were being tossed away by NoS so the famous Clan can be a place to teach new battlers. I have nothing against teaching new people, but the Clan was a group of Elites. To me, this seemed the same as letting anyone join a pro football team to teach them 'how to play football well.' This doesn't seem right, does it?
SO here's my proposition. BeachBoy as leader of "The 'Clan' Organization Thread v.5". NoS automatically gets position as original founder. Also, she becomes co-leader.
The former higher ups of the clan, particularly anyone who was a recruiter or that's been recognized as skilled(I don't remember if sims was a recruiter, but he certainly was good enough to be one) all elect two more co-leaders to take care of the clan in the absence of BeachBoy.
Then, those who have been recruiters keep their positions and hopefully we will bring in lots of great battlers and once again have the Clan back to it's former glory.
