I diagree with that. Not only because Xarimo made me lose my appetite (you are so totally burned) but because Vileplume is MY mascot!

But seriouly, Salamence is sooo....beaten to death. Anything alse?
I mean, if ya WANTED Plume, I wouldn't stop ya.
=[ How about Skarmory? :D

HELL NO!

NEVAR!

NO WAI!

I suggest Ho-Oh as our new mascot. Ho-Oh reminds me greatly of the Phoenix. The Phoenix is a mystical bird, as I'm sure most of you already new that, that never really dies. When its time comes, a Phoenix turns to a pile of ashes adn within the ashes is an egg for a new Phoenix. It forever lives on, much like the clan. The clan, figuratively speaking, has fallen to ashes and given birth to its new self several times over. So I suggest Ho-Oh as some form of synbolism that stonds for our eternal life and determination.

Yes, Ho-oh sounds like a very good idea......but why Lugia? Simply because he happens to be your "mascot"?

Now, seriously...

Well, since my OU team is (at least 90%--may still need a little bit of tweaking now and then) complete enough to battle with, I suppose my next "project" should be to create a UU team. ...However, I have to admit: I have NO idea what works and what doesn't in UU, what counts as a threat, what works as a counter to what other UU Pokemon, etc. So, I would like to ask for a bit of advice on the matter as to what Pokemon I should try using for certain roles, as well as what I should plan to look out for. Mind you, I already have an idea of my final team, but I would prefer not to post it publicly for certain reasons, and at least half of it is not set in stone, anyway.

So, does anybody have any tips?

I find Xairmo's idea very interesting in how into it he got. It really does make a lot of sense.

hehehe Noctowl. I know you like that bird sims. So do I, I actually love it. xD

Ichaste, I don't feel like it now (I'm worn out, & impatient) but later, I'll tell you all I know on the UU metagame.

I agree, Lugia is your clan's Mascot, World King.

I got a Noctowl set that I find that works really well. Since Noctowl is in the UU tier, and this one works as a support in a way too, it should do pretty good in a team. It's in smogon's form in a way so yeah (I made it myself, even go check ANY site and you won't find the set unless it's by me.)

Saba-san's Special

Noctowl@Wide Lense
Nature: Bold
Trait: Insomnia
EVs: 252 HP; 132 Defense; 124 Special Defense
Hypnosis
Roost
Air Slash
Reflect

This Noctowl works as a great support character and works as a fair special wall. It can used Reflect then Hypnosis for a free switch-out. It's also pretty fair at whittling down the enemies health while they sleep, depending on what the opponent is. Most people wouldn't use a Noctowl in BL or OU tiers because of its poor defense, but this set can work fairly well in both. Roost is there to heal when you desperately need it.

Damage Calculations
Standard Electivire w/Expert Belt - 49.50% - 58.17% damage – With Reflect
Standard Electivire w/Life Orb - 53.71% - 63.37% damage – With Reflect
Standard Electivire w/Expert Belt - 99.01% - 116.58% damage – Without Reflect
Standard Electivire w/Life Orb - 107.43% - 126.49% damage – Without Reflect

From these calculations, you can see that if you get a Reflect in, you'll survive every time. Depending on how the Electivire's IVs are, it will determine whether or not you survive without Reflect.

Thanks for liing my idea ^.^
Ichaste, all I know about UU is that Clefable and Hypno are like the Blissey's of UU. At least thats what I think I heard, I maybe mistaken. Ninetales also makes a nice UU special Sweeper. And CB Rapidash is fairly useful IMO

Are you talking about Thunderpunch from Electivire? Wide Lens makes it only have 77 Accuracy for Hypnosis, which is still low. You're better off with Leftovers to give yourself some help taking hits.

...Metallica kicks ass <.<

Right, so! Forgetting the fact that i unofficially left this clan 8 hours ago, I'm gonna have to vote in Crobat as our clan mascot. I mean, think about it; what is more intimidating than a fat purple bad with nasty teeth that makes a sound all like "RAAAAWWWR." Nothing.

...I thought wide lens upped accuracy by 10%? ._.

-A fire bird that revives itself every time it dies
-A humongous whale (Seriously. Don't even try to argue against this before you actually see one falling towards you.)
-A giant dragon that can survive the hole in the ozone and fire huge energy beams from its mouth
-A shark
-Another shark
-BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!
-Lab project gone wrong that can kill you in one hit
-Lab project gone right that can kill you in one hit
-Yet another shark
-A metal monster that can punch really hard
-A monkey with fighting gloves that will never stop chasing you
-Did I mention bears?

Yes, 10% of the original, so a 10% boost to 70 would make it 77.

-A fire bird that revives itself every time it dies
Do you know how quickly bats can reproduce?
-A humongous whale (Seriously. Don't even try to argue against this before you actually see one falling towards you.)
...Alright, imagine a giant-ass crobat flying towards you with his mouth wide open, while making an irritating high-pitched screeching noise. The whale doesn't seem so scary anymore after trying to imagine that
-A giant dragon that can survive the hole in the ozone and fire huge energy beams from its mouth
...Might I remind you of the "RAAAWWWWRR" noise Crobat makes?
-A shark
Tch, lame.
-Another shark
ghey
-BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!
....Crobat's purple, remember?
-Lab project gone wrong that can kill you in one hit
Crobat doesn't even need to hit you to kill you. It just stares at you with fataly high levels of badassness
-Yet another shark
GHEYGHEYGHEY
-A metal monster that can punch really hard
You didn't capitalize the word "Metal," so it doesn't count <_<
-A monkey with fighting gloves that will never stop chasing you
...I'm pretty sure you could find a way to put gloves on one of crobats 4 wings, you know.
-Did I mention bears?
Yeah, like...twice ._.

My vote for crobat as clan mascot still stands <_<

Michael, you're awesome do you know that? Well if we're going by the rule of "You can't vote for you own nomination" then I'll vote Crobat, but if I can vote for what I nominated then I vote Ho-oh :3

Looks like I'm late to the party~

I suggest Ho-Oh as our new mascot. Ho-Oh reminds me greatly of the Phoenix. The Phoenix is a mystical bird, as I'm sure most of you already new that, that never really dies. So... lemme get this straight. You all want to change the mascot? O_o Ugh... mmm... if you guys want to then. Vote?

I really am against Crobat for the mascot slot. I've just never been a fan of it nor do I think it represents us best. Wailord would even do better IMO. XD

The reason I like Salamence for our future 'mascot' was a couple of things. (ps. I have absolutely no care of Draco Alliance's use of Salamence as one of their countless representatives, and doesn't mean we can't have a dragon by the way) One: Versatility, the beast defines it and our clan is very diverse in battle styles. Two: It's dream, like a Bagon that wishes to fly like new members wishing to exceed and become elites of the Clan. Three: It's resistances, the clan doesn't go down easily. Four: It looks kickass, self-explanatory. Five: Matches the new steel blue tan layout, and if we get Ho-oh... we'll I guess I'll have to replace it with a shade of red/orange? Mmm. >>;; Six: It's overused tier: Meaning it's not too overwhelming, yet very very destructive. Seven: Unpredictable, same thing as versatility, but sounds cooler. Well, those are just some reasons I thought it could fit well.

I'm not so huge on Ho-oh just yet... Eh... Okay, it seems we all have an opinion so!

Official vote;
Which Pocket Monster do you believe should be the new mascot of version five, and why.

I just feel that Salamence is too over-hyped :/ Everyone seems to use the darn thing and now it's a mascot @.@ As for resistences, one Ice attack and the thing goes down faster than cake at a fat guy convention ._.
Though I do like you analogy of Bagon's dream to fly and how it connects to us, that was very profound :D

EDIT: Alright I guess I put my vote for Ho-oh and my reason is this-
