Good luck with that! I randomly decided to upgrade this desktop when I discovered that through the upgrade advisor that it can handle Windows 7. Didn't think it was too old to be upgraded anyway...then again can a four year old computer be considered really old? It's got a pretty good processor to boot, so I'm satisfied.

Unfortunately there's no way to keep all your files and settings unless you were upgrading from Vista, sure, Easy transfer made my life a tad easier, as did my 1TB harddrive...but there's still a few things that'll take me a long time to find before I can install them again. XD;

If it's a gaming computer it could be considered somewhat old, since games 4 years ago are significantly different from games today.

It's not really that old then. I still use my '95 tower(I think) for emulating SNES games. I'd have Internet, but for some reason the modem isn't working.

I think my tower would explode if I tried to play something like Starcraft II on it.

Oh that's good, I was a little worried at first, but I blame myself for not checking to see if my desktop is compatible. Reason I checked is because the company who provided the large student discount for Windows 7 Home Premium last year released a new promotion; the Windows 7 Professional Upgrade can be purchased for about £30 if you have a valid university e-mail address (which is...actually the same price as the last 7 promotion, got that for my laptop last year.)

Windows 7 looks really neat, but I can stand XP.
