Coh-fuh-gree-gus sounds retarded. Given, that's mostly how it would be pronounced if the Great Vowel Shift didn't occur in America (the only exception is that the "gus" should be "goos").

I'll continue pronouncing it "Coh-fag-grih-gus" though, because it sounds better. Just like "Chair-rim" sounds better than "Che-rim" and "Ray-kwah-zuh" sounds better than "Ray-quay-zuh".
