But isn't it completely pointless then? If you have nothing to specify as an s.mod?

Not sure about Super Moderators, but most of the moderators have it in their signature to specify what forum they moderate. How I put it in my signature (whether it's with title tags or 'Moderator of Pokemon/Other Trivia' depends on the theme I have at the time. If anything, it could be possible that the S.Mods put it in their signature as filler text.
 
I just feel like adding it to my signature because it looks pretty XD;
