It certainly takes a while for me to go to sleep, especially if there are a lot of things on my mind. If I'm really exhausted however, I'll fall asleep within a moments notice and wake up about a good three hours later. Staring at the ceiling does no good as far as aiding to help me sleep, but rather just let my mind drift, wherever it goes...and think about sleeping, of course. The easiest way to go. :D;

I can understand why it would take a while for you to sleep, seeing as your mind would be too preoccupied with many thoughts, but...when you ARE exhausted, you only sleep for about three hours? o_0 Oh dear.

I don't even know anymore, to be honest. All I know is that I can never get more than approximately five hours of sleep, and my body is so used to getting so little sleep that it would just be a strange thought alone for me to get more than eight hours of sleep or anything. D: If I slept at 8 PM or something, I would probably wake up at either 11 PM - 1 AM. Which is just about four to five hours sleep time.

I haven't really felt refreshed after sleep for a while, since I continually seem to want more sleep after I just woke up from one or something. .__.; I'm not usually that tired, but just tired enough to want a few more hours of sleep...

Hm, it might be because your body is completely adjusted to a rather strange sleeping schedule you've planted yourself into in the past, it's...eh, easier said than done I know, but I do think it's possible to change that. Lord knows if my body were to function like that, I'd be looking like a zombie every bloody day. XD;

Actually, staring at the ceiling while letting my mind drift...hm...that actually may help...

You might have a form of sleep apnea or some sort of sleeping disorder. Perhaps it'd be good to get it checked before it gets worse.. I know someone who's in their early 30s who can't get a real night sleep every single night for the past 4 years and it's really draining his body.

Not trying to scare you but you should be at least a bit concerned.

Edit: You feel that way because you never get any deep sleep. In the 4th stage of sleep.. also known as delta sleep, is when your muscle tone drops... your body uses the energy to recover itself from the day in the next stage of sleep.. which is REM sleep.

So if you awaken before REM sleep, you'll always constantly feel fatigued because your body hasn't finished replenishing itself..

Basically.. Non-REM sleep rejuvenates the parts of the body damaged by metabolism and free radicals, REM sleep repairs the repair center that rejuvenates the body during Delta Sleep..

if that makes sense..

So wait, he hasn't been able to get a good night's sleep during the last four years? I feel sorry for the guy, something like that must easily make his life harder to manage. o_O

Yeah.. it's really hard on him

Also I'll repost what I wrote prior..

That may be the case, but there's also the case that I might not actually need anymore sleep than necessary. What I'm thinking about is that if my body really needed more sleep, then there would be a situation in which I would oversleep way past my time, and that hasn't really happened as of yet, so I'm assuming my body is too accustomed to have little sleep and doesn't really need any more sleep than it already gets in order to be fine.

Of course, that doesn't explain how I fall asleep during math class and how I become drowsy as soon as I come home from school, but I digress.

Well if you feel tired then that means you DO need more sleep, regardless of the fact that you'd like to think otherwise.. haha..

It'd be wonderful if we didn't have to sleep at all! Just think of how much more time we'd have @_@ <3

I suppose. I'm always in need of more sleep anyway. I feel like I need like 12 hours or something. If I could fall asleep an entire day, that would suffice for probably an entire week or something. xDD; Slight exaggeration, but it would definitely feel that way!

And I disagree in a sense. I believe it would suck, and I'm speaking/typing at this very moment with my eyes feeling like they're gonna burn out of my face the longer I stare at the computer screen. I'm thinking it's gonna be that bad if we didn't have to sleep, at least it would have a detrimental effect to the eyes. xD;

Well.. if we didn't need to sleep at all, we wouldn't be fatigued or have dry eyes because our bodies would've adapted to it, right?

Haha..

Speaking of sleep.. I really need to head to bed .__.

192088.

Oh that'd be great, Kura...but at the same time I do actually like sleeping for three reasons.

1. I love the comfort of pillows, quilts, beds...or anything comfortable just to lay my head upon.
2. Sleeping, to me, is a little break from the reality you need to keep up with from day-to-day.
3. Dreams! They can be fun and amusing.

But otherwise, I would have A LOT more time to finish off college projects earlier than I already do. <_<;

Also, goodnight? :o

I love my sleep because I like to dream. I love my sleep also because of soft pillows. I love my sleep because I absolutely love sleeping in a cold room with a cold pillow and a heavy, soft blanket to keep you comfy and snuggly while you slowly drift off to sleep.

That is so much heaven. ♥

...

This is the scene of which I am currently experiencing at the moment.

It's so cold here, the pillow is cold and my quilt is very thick and warm. XD;

Oh gosh no, I love sleep. I wouldn't miss it for the world.

Resting and sleeping are two different things!

Or are you trying to tell me you remember every moment of every minute that passes while you were in slumber..?
:3 Nah.. sleep is instant. It's like... death in a way. Scary.

But resting is when you feel snuggly, soft, and you have that break to think to yourself, meditate, and relax away from the world.

192090

Now imagine if we didn't have to sleep.. but we could REST if we choose and feel energetic when we get up :3 <3

192093.

Ah times like this make me treasure the respites that we do get...sleeping or non-sleeping, everybody needs a form of relaxation to rejuvenate themselves.

Derrick...hm, I forgot what I was going to say...I hope you get more sleep in the near future? If not, see a doctor. XD;

Umm same avatars Derk+Maly.

Anyway I see my PM never had a response despite being asked to, oh well.

192097. I told myself I would post here, so, here I am !

Kay.... looks like I won't be able to access any of my files for about two weeks, because the hard drive isn't going to work on Vista. At all. Oh well, hopefully my laptop can be put in for repair tomorrow. Hopefully.
