heh I been at Pc for a very long time near the begining really since 2002 * so long ago I used to be a Art Mod just wasn't active enough busy ect tho alot happened through the years on PC ah memories XD

I remember mid 2005 when I joined, I had sooo many friends. One particularly stands out in my mind every day.
And I think Morkula was a Mod when I first joined. But I can't think of any others...

That gets me wandering, how much data PC actually holds and how it can cope with it, theres so many OLD posts i can still go to from my previous accounts "Late 2004", ah well, that's technology for ya.

In other news, remember that cult I posted about that claimed they believed Pokèmon were real? It was all a hoax, apparently. Created as a parody of DigiClipse.

They were just making fun of DigiEclipse, people who beieve the Digimon world is real, and then the rest of the general world began to believe that they were genuine about believing in Pokèmon. Biggest trolling of a forum ever.

What I don't get is... was Digiclipse a joke too? I heard from some places it was. It seems the site's down now.

But yeah. I wasn't too clear on what happened to PokeClipse either. I know the whole thing was just random people from /v/, IGN and other places putting on a joke, but I'm not sure how exactly it came down. I saw how it looked like it'd been hacked, and I heard from some places that /b/ found it and took it over not knowing it was a joke. But then I also heard that they faked the hacking.

So, yeah. I saw the forum all screwed up and everyone talking about how stupid it was that they had so many people going. But seriously, I was completely fooled. I got a little suspicious seeing that all of the threads (even really far back ones) had only been made within a few days, but I still thought it was for real. D:

/v/ is 4Chan's video game board. At least I'm pretty sure it's 4Chan. One of the *Chans.
 
Basically some guys from /v/ set up Pokeclipse as an april fools joke, but people from /b/ from the same site trolled it early for some lulz.

Apparently it was /v/'s idea of funny. Thing is they put so much effort to making it convincing it was just a bit sad in the end.
 
I still don't get that. What are then *Chans? The only one I know is 4Chan, and like... 6... Chan? D:

The *Chans are basically just image/message boards where people... talk about stuff. And post porn. And lolcats. And really anything, as there aren't many rules. And they're the ones responsible for most internet memes, from all your base and O RLY? to scary things like lemonparty. D:
 
I didn't know there was more that just 4Chan, but, I guess, now I do~

Yeah, I was wondering where all these random memes come from. :D
 
Eh, the Wikipedia article would probably be most helpful, actually.

I used to lurk around the *Chans when I had snuck around the parental controls on this computer. And I have friends who consider themselves /b/tards and think I'm one too because I know most of the memes and I think Encyclopedia Dramatica is funny, but I really haven't been on in forever. That screenshot on the article looks completely different from what I remember it as. o_o

Edit: Actually, I dunno, it has links to the site in the article and it'd be unpleasant for a person to click there not knowing how exactly the place is. If you're curious, you can go on wiki and search it and it'll come right up. :>

Don't bother going to the site. It's rather vile if you aren't resilient to disgusting stories/pictures. I go on it sometimes, but usually for /w/ and /wg/ which are wallpaper sections.
 
I prefer Uncyclopedia over Encyclopedia Dramatica~ I don't know, Uncyclopedia just seemed funnier to me. D: I think there's too much /b/tard-ness over at ED and almost none at Uncyclopedia. xD;
 
Yeah, I haven't really seen Uncyclopedia, but the random hate speech and porn in ED's articles does get pretty old. It's... completely overdone.

I was laughing my ass off at ED's Death Note article a few weeks ago, just at what they were saying about the characters and stuff, but they basically spoiled the series in big letters at the top of the page and put pictures from a fanmade hentai game in the article. :|
