But Florida is Beaches, Old People, and Disney World.... so..... yea it's not "The South". XD

College students? Jamaicans!? The Caribbean! :D We don't just have three categories. XD And besides people come to Florida for the oranges too! :O

It's the north only if you live in North Florida. :[

I've been here all my life. I have to admit there are some goods and downsides to it. And fine, I'll admit we do have a lot of old, retired people, but at least Florida has a lot of multi-cultural people. You have Cubans, Jamaicans, most of the Caribbean Islands coming here.

I don't live in North Florida, so I wouldn't know. I'll just continue to hug the shoreline.

Well, in my life experiences, Florida is much much better then VA, which is where I lived most my life. So for my first year, I'd say the positives overpower the negatives by a large amount. Miss snow a bit... I don't really have a lot of negatives, I've loved my entire year in Florida, and hope to live here for awhile, not to mention college and such. I really couldn't live anywhere else... *points to username*

And speaking of Florida, I do happen to know many Floridians here at PC. o.o

That bold is win! \o/

If Florida isn't the south, what are we? The north? XD

That's a pretty big stereotype. Florida is much more diverse then just those... So yeah, kinda agree with Skittles on this one. Though you got beaches, Andy, so A+. (b' ')b
Ok, here's why I (and lots of other people I know) don't count Florida as "South" (don't get mad at me or anything, just saying something XD).
I believe they've lost a lot of their "ways" because you have lots and lots of people come in. Have I been all over Florida? No. Have I been all over GA? Have I been all over TN? No. But I see TN and GA as "South" but FL not... I see Florida as a place for people all over the US to go to, and in turn taking their "ways" with them. You say Florida is diverse, yes that's a good thing. But at the same time you lose a lot of your "old ways". I'm sure there's lots of places around Florida counted as "South", people who sit on their porch, talk, wave at random people driving down the road to be nice, so on and so on. But when I look at Florida I see beaches, and Disney World. Not "the South" like I do when I see TN, or NC/SC, AL, and others.
Heck, I don't see VA as "the South" and Robo hates me for that. XD
I'm not saying Florida is bad, I'm just saying I don't see it as "South" when I think of the South.

:/ Isn't Florida part of the east? Not the south anyways? Or.. possibly southeast ://.. But I guess "THE south" is different from "South"

I'm not mad at all, and actually I can agree... ;P

Florida is diverse and that does damper our "traditional south." I would agree that not many view it as the South. And honestly, I love Florida just the way it is... not the (complete stereotype) south were people talk in a twang and little towns... :x (No offense to anyone of course)

We may not be that classic south feel, but we do add some "pazzzaz" to the south-eastern region of the United States, as many many people flock to Florida. o_o" So yeah, I would agree, we aren't the "south" but we are our own little country of various people and cultures. :D And we're are the east as well. :x

Florida I consider it more "Southeast". Like stated, I see "South" used more toward states like Texas.

Florida is southeast. I guess straight up "south" would be Texas.

Yeah I guess so. I'm not the greatest with my American geography @@ But that's alright since I'm not from America~ .O.;;

:3 I have a friend from Texas :33

I do get that classic sunshine though. :[ It's so awesome. You know, if it would snow in Florida, that would be so awesome...

I doubt it'll ever snow in Florida. It doesn't even snow in Georgia that much.

Same here.

Yeah we are definitely more "east" than "south." And yeah, Texas does define the "south" really. XD

If we had snow as well, this place would be insanely packed. XD The snowy and sunny people. But I would prefer just sunshine anyway. :D Even if I do miss the snow, I'm growing away from that. Sheesh, Disney in the snow, talk about epic. :O The sunshine is one of my favorite things about Florida, it's great. Not to mention the "feature" I love about Florida the most is the beaches! :D

However it will probably never snow here again, and yeah I think it was '72 Skittles, if I can remember correctly. XD 82? Beats me, but a long time ago.

Yeah, it only snowed in Florida like what, 30 years ago? XD

Now that's a long time...

With all this Global Warming stuff around, I doubt it will snow any time soon.

Dude... I just made fun of your State (kind of.... well not really just saying it's not Southy XD) and you agree? Ryan are you trying to make me feel bad by being kind? XD

Anyway, I got to admit, Florida does spice things up when it comes to the South (as in a whole, not "the South".... oh heck I'm confusing myself now XD). Where else in the world can you visit the world in one place? XD

Making fun of us? You saying were not just a bunch of hillbillies and that we are different and diverse is making funny of us? I take it as a compliment to say Floridians aren't true blue southern folk to be honest. (Kindness can be the deadliest form of manipulation *BB shotted*.) Seriously though, of course I agree with it, I'm a surfer not some southern boy sittin' on dat porch wit me chew grass watchin' the tumble weed (Oh wait, now I'm getting west, aren't I?) (No offense to southerners by the way)

Ahahaha. South in location as a whole, yes we bring in many with various Floridian traits. (The old people come for the weather, the young for the waves, the college students for the good schools, and the Jamaicans, well they come because it's Florida... And others for Disney, and a ton of other types... At's 1AM and there's too many to list anyway.) XD

Where can you visit the world in my place? Well I bet some Californian (Californian? What are they anyway?) would come in and say them. But heck, Florida is just like that, having beaches, "experienced elderly", and Disney is big.

Though yeah, I like that Florida isn't exactly "southern(ish)" I'd rather be stereotyped for beaches then people with loads of farms. O_O"

I don't own a farm or anything like that. XD But I do live in the south, and I have a southern accent. xD
I'm not that bad, I mean I'm not a "Spin that partner round and round." XD
But I do say, "y'all". And I have my own cowboy hat. XP
I don't like Beaches though, I wouldn't want to live on a farm either. xD

I'm from Texas. I...don't think I have a southern accent, at least I know I don't have that stereotypical southern drawl. I think I'm pretty normal, most of the time. XD Someone once told me that Texas wasn't in the south and that just made me want to smack them. Any lower and you're in Mexico! XD

Yeah, you're right. xD
I've been to Texas once, and that was when my family and I were going to Hawaii.
I was never too fond of Texas though, the time that I was there it was quite cloudy. And it looked like rain was going to drench us.

It does tend to rain a lot there, I haven't lived there in 4 or 5 years but it rained a lot, of course it had that "awesome" heat that the place can be known for at times. XD I've liked pretty much every place I've lived, except for New Orleans, sorta, I liked the actual city, the city government was so inept.

w00t, everything's going around America...

I am on the other side of the world, and usually, when people from other countries such as England or America hear about Slovakia, they think it is a sort of developing country like Somalia :! But anyway, I would wish someone from you here would visit this country. I would make a quite good guide, indeed XD

Well, Slovakia is a sort of mountaineous country, Tatras are soo beautiful :3 But those panel houses in Bratislava aren't :x And the weather can get quite interesting over here XD

Anyway, sorry to interrupt your conversation :P

And how would you present your country, eh?

Ryoutarou: I hate heat; I like temperatures in the range of 50 to 55 degrees. That's why I don't like states like Florida or Texas, because they have very hot climates.

Martin: It's alright. xD

Same for me, I detest the heat, but the winters in Texas were usually pretty awesome, as were the rainy seasons. I did dislike the fact that I never got to see snow until I was 14 when I moved to North Carolina. XD;

Ouch, you never saw snow until 14 years old? How sad. o.o
