I used to collect pokemon cards up until about 4 months ago. Not because I entered leagues; hell, i didn't really even know how to play the damn game, but because there's nothing cooler than collecting little cardboard pictures of your favorite little 2-D japanese fighting monsters. Especially the shiny ones.

...Dude, I remember once buying an Umbreon ex card for like, $20, just because I liked the way it looked. I was 15 at the time, btw. Yeah...it was just that bad. XD;

...I eventually stopped after realizing how much money I've actually spent on them over the years, and how much better, more useful stuff I could have bought with that money.
 
LOL. I bought a pack of Pokemon cards when I was like 10. I played for a week then pretty much quit. I got bored of it.
And also I used to post in Other Cards in this forum all the time. I was obsessed with Duel Masters, but they don't make it in English anymore.

I just find them a waste of money. Maybe cos I'm older and I like different things. xD
 
I would never want to live in America, Canada is much better, we have less crime, a better health care, less pollution, and are overall a much better place to live. And another problem is that in America there are only two real choices for elections, Democratic or Republican, in Canada we actually have several parties which have different ideals for the country, not just 'WAR' and 'PEACE'...

And Canada is not a socialist country like many stupid American have been made to believe we are...

Um, you obviously know very little of American elections.. Republican and Democratic are the only ones that make the news most of the time, but there are many other parties that run for election in many different levels of the government.

In the current 2008 presidential election, there's about...ten other parties running for the presidency or other areas in the government that will be voted for during the election. o_o;

And each of those parties has ideals for America that they want to promote. But the odds of any of those parties actually having a candidate that would have any chance of being considered close to winning the election, let alone being elected, is slim-to-none.

But I will agree on your point of Canada having a lower crime rate. It's been proven in many studies.

..I'm not really sure where the hell this came from, but umm...there are several other political parties in the US other than just Republicans and Democrats; those are just the two most popular parties at the time, and so they're the only two you really hear about in the media anymore.

I'll admit that the US really isn't as wonderful as alot of close-minded people claim it to be, and yeah, are crimes rates are horrendous compared to..just about every other country at this point in time, but that of yours really served no other purpose than to claim "The US sucks, and Canada's much better," which I'm sure alot of other people could find offensive =/

Oh and plus, not all Americans believe that Canada is a socialist country. Infact, I don't think I've ever heard anyone here make that claim before. Ever.
 
I know there are other parties, but we rarely here from them just because they recieve less funding... and aren't corrupt...

But about the socialist thing, many Americans do believe our country to be socialist based on our health care, whenever we get sick the government pays for our treatment, even ER visits. And a lot of people assume because of that, that we are forced to go where the Government tells us to, in other words: Socialist. And we are not. I could have an accident half way across the country and go into any other hospital ER, and still get treatment because our Health Care is one of the best in the world, not the best mind you, but one of them.
 
Uh, you'll generally find that all politicians and political parties are corrupt. That's the way it works. I'd be willing to bet that every party in the 2008 election is somehow or in someway corrupt. Maybe not horribly corrupt, but there will be dirt dug up for each candidate.

And..I'd like to know what Americans you asked that think Canada is a socialist country. o_o; Plus, I'm not sure you even know what socialism is, since socialism isn't really related to controlling the actual people nor are the people "forced to go where the government tells them to." From what I see of socialism, it's basically the government controlling goods and their distribution, along with the economy, unless I'm wrong, which I can easily be. But you could possibly mean communism, since the communist government controls their people.

No. I don't think anyone but you thinks that. :/ That's just about the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen.

Nice try attempting to make Americans look stupid or whatever you were thinking would be the result of this.

And since that's over, I used to collect Pokemon cards...XD; I regret it now, but it was just one of those stupid childhood fads that everyone goes through. I think I grew out of following those about 5 years ago though. :x

Sadly I also collected Yu-Gi-Oh cards too, but I will be selling them whenever I find them. XD I threw them into some box before we moved, so hopefully I can find those and sell them and get some cash~

And I can't even remember where I found that definition... I thought it was just as ridiculous as you do.

And I still do have some Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh cards, but not enough to make money from selling them so I'll keep them...

well, to that obama-thing.
a german psycologist analized him. Of course, JFK was great, but I do not think that obama will be as good as he is. His wife wears exactly the same clothes as Mrs. kennedy, and his appearance in germany before he is president speak for themselves. That psycologist said he trys to create an illusion and he trys to convince the people because of the kennedy-memory. I hope you can get the point.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. My parents are really into American politics, though, and they're rooting for Obama, despite the fact that we're Canadian. XD Me, though, I don't like politics, so I don't really care.
 
I'm not interested in politics in my own country so I don't really care about it in America. Everything always ends up the same. People say they will do great things ends up with prices increasing and nothing changing.

Meh, American politics are pretty important. I pay attention to the American presidential elections quite a lot. I think Obama should win, he's probably the smartest person in the election. I prefer his war plans to McCain's, anyways.
 
Politics in my country is hilarious. That's because all of the politicians are so like "they need a brain and a life". The media (TV Specially) has got onto their nerves because, it was unveiling their stinking plans. Can we talk about something else?
