Wow, math really seems to let some people down. As for me, math is my strongest point. I'm currently taking Physics. The calculation part of Physics is easy for me to remember. On the other hand, it's a bit more difficult knowing what numbers represent Intial Distance, Final Distance, Intial Velocity, and Final Velocity. So it's really the literary part that lets me down. But then again, I've never really been good at English anyway (and I even speak it XD). I was also planning on taking AP Earth Enviornmental. But I couldn't find another AP class that I'm good at to pair it up. So now I'm stuck with a bunch of Freshmen.

What if you're kidnapped one day and you need to graph cosine on a radial scale so that you live a day longer? huh, HUH?

Yeah, what's annoying about maths for a lot of students is that they can't see/won't need the practical application for whatever it is that they're learning, making it a whole lot more difficult for them.

Still, some parts of mathematics are just fun, like trigonometry! ^-^

Trigonometry is the job of the devil.

In my case, I'll be studying journalism. I don't need maths for anything at all, and yet I have had them until the last moment :|

At least, I was somewhat good at them. But trigonometry just made me mad. I couldn't understand a single word out of it.

Trigonometry. <3

Not only was it the unit that saved my math mark from dipping below 75%, but it was just my favourite in general. It was very easy to understand. And it feels pretty freaking good to know you understand something really well in math. <3

Quadratics is the real killer. :x

Well your devil is my god.

Journalism aye? You'll be traveling around a lot to foreign countries, right? Seems like your chances of getting kidnapped are pretty high - you need more maths.

I don't understand why? Maybe you just didn't grasp the basics so when that was built upon it only got more difficult and hence more frustrating for you.

Saryka: omg quadratics ♥

I miss mathematics ._.

I still think that the amount of evil psychopaths who challenge you to a maths exam to save your life isn't that high, though.

And probably, my maths teacher in 10th grade was the most horrible one I have ever had D:

SOHCAHTOA~ ♥

Trig was my favourite in grade 10. And after that it goes downhill and, sadly, it's probably one of my least favourite parts of math. XD; It's just so complicated now and almost everything else is more enjoyable. Oh god, trig identities make me cry because I'm too lazy to memorize all of them. T_T;

edit: OMG Went you just decided what my life's dream is going to be. I'm going to be an evil overlord who challenges people to math exams in exchange for their lives. DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIND THE ROOTS OF THIS QUARTIC? I'LL FEED YOU TO THE ALLIGATORS. 8DD

I almost took college + high school courses in my junior year, but then junior year got full of classes and I was always busy, so I decided against it. I'm over my requirement fufillment so I'm good anyhow.

MATH ;_; It's my weak point, but I like it. ALGEBRA + ME = <3 GEOMETRY + ME = 8( I'm in precalculus right now and looooving it. I'm not looking forward to when trig gets involved again though. rawr.

I didn't take physics this year, best. decision. ever. I can't do the mathmetics involved with science, so that class would have killed me and my current awesome grades.

I still have trouble believing I thought Sohcahtoa would be a good character name.

I had some trig my senior year. I think. It wasn't so bad.

If you take over the world, can you spare me? :D;;
...then again, I might be able to do squares of quadratics. Depends. Are we using the quadratic formula, or are we getting ones that factor easily? Can it be the latter? The latter's actually fun! :D;;

It's a concurrent enrollment program offered by one of the JCs here, but it's severely limited. I can only take 9 units. u_u; (But at this point I'm kinda glad, otherwise I would have totally overloaded myself. @_@)

Even getting 9 credits out of the way is a good thing, though. ;p I'd be lucky if that's how much credits I'd gotten from my AP classes...

*sigh*

At this point I am just thankful I am not currently in highschool and don't have to worry to much about that stuff just this second xD

I often get scared when college is brought up..... I don't know.... Everyone says you're performance in 8th grade determines ultimately what college you can go to, because if you do well you will be placed into advanced classes, and then into a better (or more prestigious I might say) college...... who knows I may be getting my facts alll wrong xD

Psh. Maybe some would be easily factored but it'll probably be, oh I don't know, quadratic formula with substitution? ♥

...oh god now I feel like digging out my math textbooks, orz. <_<

Math has always been a pain. ;;
And physics = eww... :<
Basically, I'm a history freak. XD;

Math = who's bright idea was that?

English/Reading/Writing/History/Biology/Anthropology/Archeology = awesometasticfandabulistic. Yeah. I said it.

Haha, but yeah, not a math fan either. Pre-Calc was the worst idea ever >_> Now I'm at a CC for a year before I transfer and I'm finding the large amount of reading doesn't bug me as much as all the petty assignments they gave us in high school does. I'm getting a lot more done and actually finding interest in it, especially my anthropology class which is awesome. Physical Anthro, not cultural, I heard that was awful.

well you do need math for the future (bills and whatnot) but the only part of math that I excell in is Algebra, and it is Really easy surprisingly, but for now, we're doing the polynomial stuff which I hate.

All this talk of math makes me miss it so much. ;_; I'm not taking it until February, so I'll have forgotten all this stuff by then. D:

Goodness gracious, I hate English, though. We're reading The Great Gatsby and although I liked the book when I first read it in the summer, I didn't like it when we started analyzing the crap out of it. :x

The Shakespeare units were what irritated me in English class.
Social Studies and History type stuff was always my worst subject.

I found those easy but they were incredibly BORING and I literally fell asleep in class when we had to read it out loud, the midsumer nights dream was boring and I hated it when our teacher gave the role of guys to the girls and the guys got the girls part, I had to play Titania for goodness sake.

THE GREAT GATSBY <333! I loved that book so much. My class read it second semester last year, I'll re-read eventually when I finish all my other books. I love english in general, I'm finally in an honors class for it, and we're reading Hamlet. We had to re-write the "to be or not to be" sililoquey with any theme we wanted and I chose The Office 8D

I'm not in very many classes this year. Just precalc, world lit, current issues(which is very fun), gym and foods. The rest of my day is full of free periods!

I did Romeo and Juliet in Grade Nine and found it ridiculous, and last year, I did Othello. Not as ridiculous as R&J, but ridiculous nonetheless. XD; Needless to say, I'm not looking forward to reading MacBeth this year. The Shakespeare units are my least favourite parts of English as well, although I don't really like English in any case. :x

The unit in English I looked forward to most was the Short Story one. Even if the majority were about "growing up", or something like trouble. I liked when we did "Flowers for Algernon" and "On The Sidewalk Bleeding". The emotional vibes from those two just got to me. I still have the photocopied handouts in a box in my closet.

We don't have a short story unit this year. :( I miss it so much, especially when you get to write your own. I really like creative writing, but we don't get to do too much of it this year. :x
