At my school we can. Only if the supervising teacher agrees with the reason for the detention. Which more often than not they do.
 
Lighting this question is kinda to you cause I think you would be the only other person in this thread right now that would remember, but did https://www.abbyxsawah.com used to point to PC? I was looking at an old thread that reminded me of it...
 
Nah, they just got Steve to set it up as a domain. XD;

It's actually really annoying reading old posts from back then and clicking a link to another thread only to find out that person linked with the abbyxsawah domain so it doesn't work. >\
 
It... didn't. We just had a bunch so that other people wouldn't take the domains, iirc. Though there were some like pokecomm.info that were mainly around to help get around blocked sites at school. XD;

Now we just use the one URL, I think. If any other domains are still registered, they redirect to www.pokecommunity.com regardless.

I used to use pkmncommunity.com. But I guess it doesn't really matter. It's just an adress :) And PC's pretty well-known nowadays, isn't it? From what I've seen, it may be the biggest Pokémon based community/forum there is... But then again, I don't know very much.
 
I think we're technically the biggest as far as posts and members but that's only because Serebii prunes posts/accounts rather frequently. :(

We're still the best though. |D;;
 
Yesh, serebii and bulbagarden seems a lot trickier... PC's user-friendly :D I mean it.
I had (have?) and account on pe2k... it seemed big too. But I didn't grow attached to it. PC made me stay. Somewhat.

I wonder what makes some forums more successful.

ED: That's not necessarily a bad thing though... to take away accounts "never" used. Some singleposters take up usernames many would like to take... (where's that guy who stole "Fable"...)
 
XD; Yeah, I think I joined twice and then decided I didn't care enough to bother any more than that.

I was also always weirded out. "Lightning" is a taken name there (or it was when I last checked) and the person who owns the username has the same birthday as me. @_@;; Like, right down to the year. And they weren't imitating me or anything. o_O;

'kay, that's freaky.

I go to Bulbagarden sometimes, but otherwise, I stick to PC like Heracross to Maple Trees. :x

Yeah, that is a little freaky. But I have seen some users on Serebii trying to imitate people from PC before so it wouldn't be that far fetched.

That's just... odd. D: Having some n00b run around with, basically, the identity one works to achieve... creeps me out a bit too much. >_>;
 
I've only ever been active at two Pokémon forums and the other one I haven't even been to in years. :\ I just can't find another forum--let alone a Pokémon forum--with the same atmosphere as PC.

And as for the other Lightning... the person wasn't imitating me. XD Aside from the username and birthdate (and the guy's name might've been Eric too--but I think I'm remembering that part wrong XD), he was nothing like me. o_O; He was an anime enthusiast or something and we were nothing alike.

I agree, PC's just... too PC-y to frolic around on other Pocket Monster boards. XD

And that's good, still quite the coincidence that it was same birthday and username.
 
I am only on this pokemon forum. I have looked at the others but the community on them never seemed as good.
