The Middle East is a beautiful place to live in.

Well Dubai is anyway.
It's scary what happened there the other week, though. :[

It's beautiful but dangerous :(

Well, nowadays everywhere is dangerous actually, but the bombings last week were very creepy D:
Still, living in panic 24/7 is not a good idea either.

I'd be scared living in the Middle East, even if it is pretty :[

And lawl, my room is so messy >_> I have a random chair stuck in the middle of my floor, along with an extra bed-side table and stool thing. I think I sat there... twice, and now it's a catch-all for school books and jackets lol D: I really should just get rid of it >_>

Uh...

The Middle East is a beautiful place to live in.

Well Dubai is anyway.

I was thinking...Where's Dubai? "Saudi Arabia? the UAE?" But then when someone mentioned "bombings" I was like O_O the bombings were in Mumbai not Dubai. (Dubai is in the United Arab Emirates)

Anyways I need to brush-up my geography. XD

Edit: Yup Rekhyt I agree. But the US also has it's share of Violence maybe unlike Ireland. The news puts way too much bad news nowadays for more ratings. D=

Haha, I hate to make it sound like I make generalizations, but I wouldn't really like to live in the Middle East too. I know that it's probably a beautiful place to live in most of the time, but it doesn't really compare to Ireland in terms of safety. Every day, I go on Sky News and learn about the latest shooting, riot or attack in a city in the Middle East. Sure, you may never see an attack if you were to live there, but when everything you hear about the Middle East is the deaths of people after a petrol bomb was thrown, someone with no experience of the land is bound to start thinking the wrong way about it.

It's like teenagers and bad press. Whenever something bad happens and a teenager is behind it, all that's said is that a teenager was responsible for the crime. That gets to people. There are some adults and elderly people who think that teenagers are just out there to cause trouble. In fairness, that's rarely the case.

Yeah, totally bias and ignorant decisions really aren't the way to go. The media always lies and you really shouldn't believe them.

I'd love to go to the Middle East, more specifically, I'd love to travel to Dubai. Dubai's becoming one of the most powerful cities on Earth and many companies are flocking there; it'd be great to be a part of all that while it's on a roll! It's a very neat place for entrepreneurship as well as getting cheap gold too. Also has the newest architectural advances. Check it out~

As far as I know, Ireland's not exactly a safe place to live either. The Provisional IRA may have officially laid down its arms, but there are still other IRAs perfectly willing to use force of arms against the civilian population. I'd rather hear about the exact situation from someone who actually lives there, though.

Northern Ireland ain't all that crash hot either, or at least it wasn't a few years back :P

And wait what? You mean the media is just blowing this out of proportion? Cause people are being killed there all the time. Kidnappings too and the like.

Experience of the land? What are you talking about? PEOPLE DO DIE THERE.

But yeah, the Middle East is beautiful, at least the mountains of Lebanon. Everywhere else is just crappy desert, though the coastlines are nice too, especially on the Mediterranean.

Yes, I know, I'm not completely oblivious to the world. All I was saying is that the media makes the Middle East look like a massive riot. A lot of my friends would think that if you were going to the Middle East, your plane would have a bomb on it and you'd get shot at in the airport and the like. It's not that bad, but when all you hear about the Middle East is news of the latest terrors, people start believing it is. I never said that the Middle East was a meadow to prance around in.

Only in places like Iran, Pakistan, Israel, etc. Other than those places, the Middle East isn't just full of Arabs swinging guns. That's just the media :|
People die everywhere, it's just that people from our countries are specifically dying in the Middle East.

If you really wanna talk about PEOPLE DYING AND KIDNAPPINGS, talk about Africa. No one cares about Africa. Dare someone prove me wrong on that.

Agreed. Sudan is another area full of deaths and bombings. I swear to god that place is a bombshell. A lot of people from Africa and Sudan are coming down to Australia now and the Government don't like it.

funny how we're comparing the loss of life in different areas of the world like it's a competition.

O-or we could talk about happier things? Like the econom--oh wait. But seriously, this is too heavy for DCC. Let's be happyyyy. :( Discussing which place is worse, gets the goriest news coverage (or lack thereof), etc. isnt at the top of my list, sadly.

What's everyone doing this weekend? 8D

I'm cleaning my house to get ready for the holidays; it's really cluttered but once everything's cleaned and tidied up, we'll probably put up our tree. :D I'm also going to try to head out to get my mom a gift and then I'll have finished my Christmas shopping.

I just left traffic court to contest this ticket I got in October (when some 70 year old man rammed into me while I was making a left hand turn on a light I KNEW I had a signal, yet I got the ticket >_>) and the old man didn't show up. XD Neither did the cop (he was in Marshall training school), so they waived it. Yay! No 3 points on my license or a $100 fine. *dances*

He'll pay for what he did to my wonderful Oldesmobile. >:O

Otherwise, I'm working tomorrow and studying for a few tests as well as playing endless Spore/FFTA2/Animal Crossing City Folk/Sonic Olympics.

I have some driving to do and I should be going out on Sunday night to the girls school party. xD

Also have work on Saturday after my driving and maybe a bit of Christmas shopping.

Time Warp!

Well...the economy is doing great! The Dow just recently hit 14000 Points, well they say it's "slowing down" but don't worry President Bush is proposing sending "stimulus checks" to everyone so everything's fine ^_^, The US Primary elections are about to start...(Go Hillary!) 8D Oh wait..it's December 2007 right? XD *shotz0rz*

Well for some "happy" thoughts this weekend, me and my grandma who's visiting from Canada are going for a day's stay to a relative...I have an essay due Wednesday about "How literacy affected my life" for English...Some "normal" HW for various classes such as AP Bio...Yeah that's it...My life is BORING T_T

I have to leave to my dad cabin today for the weekend. No computer but we have a couch and a radio... no tv.
...okay that sucks. :( I'm so glad my family doesn't have a cottage or anything. It sounds so boring (and all my friends who do have one HATE having to go up to it every weekend in the summer XD).

Wow, that's mostly awesome! The ticket thing sucks but nice that you got off the hook with no trouble. XD;
