Clarification: New Zealand was discovered by the Dutch explorer Abel Tasman, who initially named it Staten Landt under the assumption that it was connected to the island now known as Isla de los Estados (English: Staten Island [no, not that one], Dutch: Stateneiland), off the coast of Argentina. Several Dutch cartographers later renamed it Nova Zeelandia, after the Dutch province of Zeeland (which really does literally mean "Sealand" in English); James Cook then anglicized it to New Zealand. All in the details, Jorfe, all in the details.

New Zealand was only discovered by Abel Tansman after the Polynesian navigator Kupe found it. For certain reasons (which would take long for me to explain) he and his family left Hawaiiki (the mythical ancestral homeland of the Maori) in their waka (Canoe). After some time Kupe's wife spotted the islands of New Zealand, which appeared as land lying beneath a cloud. Because of this, they named the islands Aotearoa (The maori name for New Zealand), Land of the Long White Cloud.

In Year 7 we were all forced to study the history of New Zealand, in terms with the Maori history. They never bother to teach us about anyone other than the Polynesian discovery and James Cook

lol He sounds lazier than my old fat dog.

That was the same was as my other dog though. eeew

That sounds like my older cats. I've got seven cats and the older ones are like that while the young ones...basically run around and ninja flip off chairs onto one another a lot.

My cat can get pretty active when he had a toy to play with. But other than that... yeah he sleeps. Sometimes he would go and mess with my sister's dog, or vice versa.

My cat used to love playing with anything in the shape of a loop - whether it was rubber bands, my sister's hairties or the plastic rings off milk bottles. She was so little back then, and full of so much energy. She would bat them around all over the kitchen floor, because they skidded across the lino so well, and then she'd lose them under the fridge and get all upset because she couldn't reach them. When we moved out, we found about fifty of the things in the space where the fridge was.

Haha, always count on Jack to come through with the truth. :P

Oh hey, I step into the DCC for the first time in five years and Jorge's posting. I see Operation Act Like You Did in 2006 is going as planned.

Hey Kaga! So has your welcome been good? Is PC what you expected?

Multiply this post by about a thousand lines or so and you'll be right back to where you were before you left!

...

I fear I have unleashed a beast.

The welcome has exceeded all expectations. I come back expecting to be completely forgotten, and yet this whole "legend" thing keeps getting thrown around and nobody will explain it to me aaaaaaaaaaaaaagh XD

PC is surprisingly similar to five years ago. Just more fun stuff to do when you're not posting in threads XP Hopefully I'll be back to my old habits in no time.

You, me, we can make it happen. Together we can rule the DCC as father and son!

Well, it's good to see some old faces back in the DCC along with some new ones. But I miss the old faces back when I joined :(

Ya'know I wish I wasn't so immature when I joined PC. I was a total noob, if I had joined sometime around here I would be a better member. Yeah, when I was nine I was completely immature and stupid.

Even older members before they become equated to the forums act like morons. Many people upon joining act like "noobs" regardless of their age, it's just a matter of adjusting to the forum, the people, and it's rules and regulations.

The face of the DCC has changed so much. The last time I was in here for any length of time was barely six months ago, yet now . . . I don't see any of the regulars from back then. Of course, I know and love you guys, but it's so different here now. And all this in such a short space of time!

Well yeah but I was just a moron through and through. I knew somebody who had a forum and I would outright ask to be a mod. And beg, and beg. I was really moronic. But I haven't got an infraction since I joined. but omg I have a warning from beachboy.

I'm glad I'm not like that anymore. /is three years older
