What? No Yu-Gi-Oh A reference get?

But yeah, I'll think about the shipping costs. xD

Amateurs :P When I was 13, I faked owning a card shop in order to be able to buy entire boxes of Pokemon cards wholesale from Wizards of the Coast. I turned the front room of my house into a hobby shop because they required photographs, strung Hot Wheels and mint Star Wars figures from the walls, hiked in cases and filled them with holographic Pokemon cards in top loaders, used my Game Boy games to form a "used games" section, and filed for a vendor's license with the local government. Legally, I was a business owner during that time. It was awesome and I got whole boxes of cards for a little over $30 until I quit playing the TCG XD

...you've got to be kidding me, Alan. Someone had too much time on their hands. XD

I have a year to beat that. Oh wait. I can't do that. xD

That would be a pretty cool job though, I can't even find one at the moment. No availability at any local camera shops, or sport warehouses, and I'm definitely not going to go work at a fast food outlet...

What I want to know is how you got a vendor's license at the age of 13. They must just give those away.

Damn, when I was 13 I was busy stalking the fandom on the internet and playing Neopets. xP

I was doing all of that AND scamming Wizards of the Coast. Epic nerdy multitasking ftw

Holy...you weren't even born when the Pokemon TCG came out, were you? I think I'll take this chance to lord my seniority over you by saying that nothing will ever duplicate the smell of a freshly-opened back of Base Set cards. It was chemically-treated cardstock nirvana.

That's actually quite an ingenious ploy. XD

/writes that one down

I do not think that Nintendo is as gullible as 90s WotC XP

I strolled into city hall, I asked for the form, I paid the $25 fee, I strolled back out with a certificate and a special transaction logbook for tax purposes. My business, Big Al's Collectibles, made a grand total of $0 before quietly going out of business some time later.

I step out to play Fallout 2 for a couple of hours, and I come back to see yet another relic of the old guard unearth himself. I really need to be around when these things happen.

Well maybe not when they came out... Born in 1998... But ohh yeah...I know that smell. I have tons and tons of cards in the basement. I used to live around them. I think I counted once and had like.. 1,000, a lot for a 1st grader (when I was actively collecting them) I remember collecting cards and when I got a good one I'd do a weird dance and show it in my dads face and be like "LOOK DADDY IT SU GOOD!"

Mr. O'Neill, what a pleasant surprise.

Okay, so maybe the smell is still there XD But I could swear that the earliest smelled the best. It's probably the nostalgia talking. And the fact that the local card shop used to gouge the Base Set packs to $7 each so I had to absorb every molecule of sensory experience that I possibly could out of them.

Did you play the TCG or just like the pretty pictures of the pokemans? One thing I can guarantee that you didn't experience was the ecstasy of pulling a Base Charizard from a pack circa 1998. Striking oil wouldn't have felt as great. You were officially among the upper-crust of collectors (but also ran the risk of being shanked for your card at any moment <_<)

The only official card pack of Pokemon cards I've ever gotten was this FRLG booster pack a while ago. My parents usually only let me get bootleg cards from my Aunt's shop. :V

I can never have the nerve to do such an audacious thing. Back in '05-'06 I was busy worrying about Internet security and privacy to even post for a long while. Although I was active for a little while in TV.com and Rockman.EXE Online. :I

But yeah...Has it really been that long since I've moved here to the US? Wish I joined PC back then. :U

Actually I liked both! But I did have an awesome Video that showed you how to play! I went to a tournament once but you had to have certain types of cards and I only had like 3 of that type. :[

C'mon. I could have pulled that baby out in late December... I CAN RIP OPEN A BOOSTER PACK WITH MY THREE MONTH OLD HANDS!
