I remember how I felt about Toriko.

It was indifference.

Then I saw this:

And I needed to see it because it was all Cross Epoch and stuff. o3o

Seeing that reminded me one of the problems I had with the first couple of episodes of Toriko. His attacks should be food-themed and all, but all he ever does is the "knife" and "fork" attacks, which consist of the animators just superimposing images of a knife and fork over his arms and we're just supposed to imagine that he's doing something amazing from that :p There's also the Kugi Punch, which I think was just described as a "punch in a punch", which just made me go "oh......oooookay." when I heard it. I was hoping he'd be more like Sanji from One Piece, but if the actual battles get good I'm still definitely going to watch it.

I wish long running series were more consistent with their animation, the opening episode of the current Bleach arc had movie quality....then it dropped.

Oremo true route ending sucked, I wish it was more like some of the endings in the game.

One Piece is strange. There was one thing, in which I really did like the animation style.

That might have been animated by Naoki Tate, who's known for sacrificing detail for fluidity. When you watch enough One Piece you can recognize the Tate episodes and they're some of the best. So many people won't watch One Piece just because of the animation style, which is pretty sad T_T

Yeah, let's get this arc animated :q

Tate's animation really brings it to life. If I were to choose an animation style for One Piece, I would probably pick his. Or Mamoru Hosoda's, they're both the same. o3o

I don't exactly remember the animation when that thing happened, but I might go back and rewatch it so I can exactly see what happened with the animation. But I really do love that sort of animation though. It's purely amazing, and I don't really pay attention to much of the animation.

Also Blackbeard is creepy. He has an inspiring speech though. :)

They really do make sure to put some real care into the most important scenes of the show. My favorite animated moment from OP is still when Luffy defeats Crocodile, largely because of their incredible choice to play the 4th movement of Dvorak's New World Symphony. It's still amazing to watch for me.

Inspiring...or terrifying? :p

Spoiler:

One Piece looks great when it wants. :U

Yeah, that was really well-done too. Especially the way that they did everyone's reaction shots in the following episode.

It's an inspiring speech he says. All that stuff near Jaya about dreams that never end and that you should always dream what you want and don't let anyone stop you. One of the best lines in the entire thing if you ask me.

Oh, I thought you were talking about the (Marineford arc spoiler)
Spoiler:

Mr. Toot and his magic farts, how nice.

And this is my 100th post in the DCC thread :) YAY! :pink_giggle:

Congratulations, that means over 1/10 of your posts are made here.

Oh, wow. Congrats, buddy! :D
100 posts in one thread is pretty impressive!
