I missed the Nickelodeon talk. :<
LOL I haven't heard those titles for YEARS now. XD To be frank Rocco's Modern Life got me soooo scared of escalators for almost 7 years after seeing one fall over as he was tring to get on the second floor. O_____O Heh, I remember the Bubblegum Shrine by Helga.

As for the continuing talk on Pop Culture artists. D=
Ugh...It's still a wonder to me as to how these guys rise to prominence. Coincidentally I asked Aura about this yesterday and concluded that it's the fangirls that are behind this. >.>

Hmm, I've heard some of them due to my love of history and current events.
Slobodan Milošević = Former Serbian President, Heard about him due to Bill Clinton's Kosovo air strikes.

Kim Il-sung = Father of North Korean Dictator Kim Jong Il, 'Nuff said.

Pol Pot = Cambodian rebel leader?, Heard about him due to the Vietnam War.

Augusto Pinochet = Former Chilean dictator. Read about him somewhere.

Suharto = Former Indonesian President, Read about him in Barack Obama's "Dreams from My Father" XD

As for the other 2, no Idea. D: Please explain who they were.

Three, actually.

Idi Amin = President of Uganda from 1971 to 1979. General nutcase who had an Israeli airliner hijacked to get attention, among a great many other things. Was eventually overthrown after a war with Tanzania. Died in exile in 2003.

François Duvalier = President of Haiti from 1957 until his death in 1971. Notable for his belief in voodoo, his cult of personality, and his liberal use of secret police.

Nicolae Ceauşescu = President of Romania from 1965 until his overthrow and execution in 1989. Admirer of Kim Il-sung. Notable for his attempts to increase Romania's population through bans on abortion and similar policies.

By the way, I don't do positive.
 
Pol Pot was the leader of the Khmer Rouge, which was yeah, a Cambodian Rebellion group.

He wanted to turn all of Cambodia back to peasant time, where everyone was treated as an equal and nobody was set apart because of intelligence. Most people who stood up against it or showed any signs of intelligence or independence were executed. Thus we have the infamous Killing Fields.

How I know all this? My parents were part of the Khmer Rouge. But after seeing what was happening, they decided to leave. Yeah, they're one of the lucky ones.

Meh, I don't really like my real name running around the forum. I'm sure people know it, but it just seems a bit weird to me.
 
Only a few people that I talk to here know my name, but even if others knew it, I wouldn't care. For a while, you used to be able to Google my user name and get my name, both first and last. XD

Haha, I used to really paranoid about telling people my name. Don't know why, but it seemed weird telling people personal details about myself when they were a bunch of people. Thankfully, I've managed to get over that insane fear and most people here know my real name, but it still feels sort of odd when people use Kevin instead of Rekhyt or Oni when they're speaking to me online.

Well yeah, it's not that I'm afraid of people knowing my name. It just seems like your online name should be used by you online friends, and your real name should be used by your real friends. Not that people shouldn't use their real names on PC...That's just how I feel about it.

My name is in the top ten for male names and the top pair of names for twins happen to be those of mine and my best friend. O.O

Or at least it was in 2006.
