I don't normally burn anywhere but arms/shoulders/face but that's only because I raaaarely go outside in anything but pants, haha. My legs are so white they'd blind people if I wore shorts outside in sunlight so I do the world a favour. :(
Well...you also have a really fair complexion to begin with. I can guarantee you I haven't left the house without pants. XD My legs are blinding. I wear shorts in the summer, but...that doesn't really make a difference for me. Right now? My legs match the rest of me.

My shoulders are the only parts of me that burn XD Otherwise I tan really easily. Every time after we go to the beach I get so many compliments on my skin colour XD
Mediterranean skin is sorta...oily... so, I tan pretty well even if unintentional.

While were on beach topics...

Salt water or fresh water?

I don't know. I'm weird. Lakes just always seem so dirty to me, even if they're like isolated in the middle of nowhere. The beach and like... a river is all that's there, but at least you know if you're at an ocean beach, you've got the whole world's oceans counteracting any nasty stuff.

I KNOW IT MAKE ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE but I still just think "ick" when I think of lakes and that doesn't happen when it comes to the ocean, lmao.

Well, I'm sure some areas of Georgian Bay are cleaner than others. But, gotta say I felt a whole lot cleaner coming out of the water on the Wasaga end of it then I did coming out of the Mediterranean Sea in France.

I mean, I know that the sea was cleaner. It was crystal clear and blue and I swimming with fish. And at Wasaga it's very sandy and green. But...walking out of the fresh water? I *felt* clean. Walking out of the ocean? Well...they had showers at the beach for you to rinse down with afterward. When you walked out of the water you had a whole layer of salt on your body. Coarse to the touch. I felt dirty. :\

Maybe it's different elsewhere. But the Mediterranean was really damn salty. Ruined it for me.

You know that oceans are like, a billion times more dirty than lakes?
[/hyperbole]

But seriously, when the whales are...You know...Some of it doesn't reach it's destination, if you catch my drift.
That's why the ocean is so salty x[

@Triffy: But the salt is a necessary part of the experience! Just like a beach isn't a beach without sand getting everywhere, a trip to the beach isn't a good one if you aren't all salty afterwards.

I am aware that oceans are disgusting but it still just doesn't seem like it to me. XD;

My face burns really easily, even when I put sunscreen on it. My legs burn very little, but anything else is usually burned after I've been to the beach, especially my face and arms. XD
And I hate the feeling of having salt all over me after I've been out to the beach or out on a boat, but salt water is pretty much all we have around here, so...

Well, for you a beach isn't a beach without salt. You grew up with it. I didn't. Last summer was my first experience with salt water. So... both are beaches. But different. And we can both think the other one is crazy. XD

Hey... did the server shut down for you guys? o.o

Please don't change the topic without addressing the previous one.

I love all sorts of beaches as long as they don't have:

1) Tons of seaweed
2) Sharks
3) Jellyfish

I actually went to a lovely beach while in Toronto. It was a nudist one (with lots of hot guys). The water was a little too cold for me, but I went in the middle of July so it was really hot so the water was refreshing.

I hate jellyfish. So bad.
I didn't notice the purple flag one time, which means dangerous marine life, and got a swimming trunk full of jellyfish.

That was not pleasant

HAHAHA! You went to the nudist beach on Centre Island?! I stumbled across that place by accident when my family and I took a ferry there.. Haha.. oh well~

I live about a 5 minutes walk from the beach. I'm not that beachy a person though...sand and water you can't drink and even more sand... =P

I don't really have a preference between lakes and oceans - just depends if the waves are too rough or not at the beach, and the amount of seaweed and jellyfish if any (here at times we get blue-bottles), is all. Might lean slightly towards lakes, come to think of it.

I do have bushland for a backyard as well though so it's all good. -_- Well, besides the fact that some of the wildlife isn't necessarily nice. Only a few days ago, I opened the front door to see a giant snake sitting by it. O_O

Surprising to say the least - there are snakes, but never ones that are fat, longer than two metres, and sitting on the porch. =/ At least upon checking I found out it wasn't venomous...
