I think they'd probably go with something like... using other Pokémon to hunt.

Not as fun as using weapons, but hey, it's Nintendo.

This is almost opposite to Ranger except-- wait no, Ranger was wrong on many levels.

If we used other Pokemon to hunt, we might as well play the regular games. I'd be okay with a Pokemon hunting game as long as you can get killed by your target as easily as you can kill them(If you don't think on your toes) That way, getting the fur of a very dangerous Pokemon would be much more satisfying. You may even have to team up with other hunters online to take down legendaries. For example, one person preforms various electrical suppression techniques on Zapdos while the other three focus on the hunting. It doesn't sound too bad, actually.

I would buy a Pokemon hunting game simply for the lulz of killing a Pichu or a Cleffa or something.

Every species is fair game. Some of them will just be harder to hit with your rifle, like the Pichu and Cleffa you just mentioned.

I'd personally like to go hunting the typical Pokemon; Stantler, Rattata/cate(I think?), Murkrow etc.

Though shooting a Cleffa would bring some good times.
Rattatas and Raticates most likely wouldn't be worth very much due to how common they are. Having a Stantler head mounted on your wall would be a sign of prestige, though, and hunting for Murkrows at night would be a very good test of your skills (or your ability to earn enough cash to buy a good night vision scope for your rifle).

Or scrapping a Bronzor for it's metal. I can't stand that Pokemon by the way.
Judging from its all-metal construction and tendency to appear in indoor environments, you'd need a very powerful close-quarters weapon to take one of those things down. A Fabrique Nationale SCAR-H CQC or a Heckler & Koch HK417 12" Assaulter would probably fit the bill; if you replace the barrel with a longer one and mount some optics on the top rail, they can also be serviceable long-range weapons in the absence of a dedicated sniper rifle.

It's amazing how only Jack can bring weapons into Pokémon.

I'd like to try harpooning some Dewgongs. Oh yeah.
Harpooning Dewgongs? Clubbing Spheals is where it's at. Just make sure to bring along an anti-materiel rifle to take down the Sealeos and Walreins that'll be giving you grief.

What I would give to be able to shoot Pikachu with a modified nailgun... There's definitely money to be had in a Pokemon hunting game. The pokeball on the end of the fishing rod could be replaced with a nice big hook, weren't expecting that were you Horsea?

First time I've been here in years and.. what the hell guys? What is with all this Pokemon crutely?

I'm calling the PETA...who would probably just freeze them.
