Being of the opinion that it is the human natural mechanism for controlling our own population, I think there's not enough war. And bearing in mind that our societies no longer have a warrior class, today a much smaller percentage of the population is actually belligerent.
 
War can't be avoided. Humans are just too crazy, killing each other the whole time. If there were aliens somewhere out there, I bet they would be sitting there watching us, thinking we're all a bunch of weird little ants.

I mean, seriously. We have our hamburger, we have our football, and BAM, we're happy. o.O

I'd have to agree with you there. Sure is odd to think about, at least.
 
It would be really odd without war. It's just a natural human function, to fight. No one likes war, but I suppose it has to happen.

Funny, isn't it? Everyone claims they would love for the world to be entirely peaceful, yet when you think about it you can't really comprehend what it would be like.
 
I have to go with Kevin (Rekhyt) on this one... After all, I really want the world to be peaceful, but without all these events going on, the newspapers will probably lose subscribers. And even if we were to get world peace tomorrow, places all around the world would still be suffering from a bad economy or from some sort of epidemic. Having a world without war wouldn't mean that everything bad would go away like that. People will still get laid off every day, there'll still be crimes committed (especially non-violent ones if EVERYTHING was peaceful).

We wouldn't really need news if everything was peaceful -- 95% of media is centered on media. (Besides, by the time (if ever) we get world peace, newspapers wouldn't even exist anymore. Everything will have gone digital.)

You haven't heard about the Newspaper Crisis? The publishers are blaming the web for it...but the need to be more adaptive than they currently are. The ad-based Newspaper industry is well in need of life-support. D:

But yeah, the world wouldn't really be perfect even without conflict. Sorta funny in a twisted way.
 
Well, the world is perfect WITH conflict. And even if it was peaceful, in the sense of no life-threatening human conflict, there are still forces at variance with one another within everything. Conflict IS life.

There isn't anything adventurous or romantic in the universe without conflict. It brings out the uniqueness of each individual.

I changed it...twice. Before this I was Serene. But, because PC had a DBE during the time of my more recent name change, my previous name didn't get recorded. So... Yeah XD

Mm, any chance we can discuss something a LITTLE bit happier? XD I mean, current events, war, etc. is something vast to talk about, but it gets a bit depressing after a while. Idk if anyone feels the same way... ><'

So, how's life going for everyone?
 
My life is good. Everything is good -- relaxed and peaceful. [Not that anyone cares xD]
 
Could be better, since I have a tidal wave of finals fast approaching. I am merely a small sailboat in the storm ;____;
