Here, primary roughly equals elementary, intermediate roughly equals middle school, and high school roughly equals, well, high school.
Intermediate is, according to many sources, supposed to prepare one for high school. Really, though, my intermediate at least was absolutely hopeless for that. I mean, sure, it got me to come out of my shell a little bit, but it did nothing to prepare me for just how 'different' high school is. I mean, it took me till the end of my first year of high school to understand how the NCEA system works, and I still struggle a bit. (You have to collect certain numbers of credits at certain levels at certain grades to pass in a certain way, including a certain number of credits in certain subjects. @_@)
I adapted fairly quickly, but that was through my own observation. And no, DG, I don't think it's wrong to not start the year at the beginning. Just odd. Stupid planetary tilt.
