I'll be honest... I've been playing since Red, and I never once tried to make a strategic team...

I really just collect my favorites, take the time to level them to 100, give them the moves I think fit best, and that's it. I don't use Shedinja or Yanma whatever because I don't like them.

I use Arcanine because he's awesome. I use Haunter over Gengar because I like Haunter. I'm just weird I guess.

*looks over at Kanade*

Well, I suppose not that weird. I don't tie people to rusty beds.

*prepares to block any flying objects*
NONE, absolutely NONE of my teams have strategy. Really, I like heavy offense the most, because with stall matches tend to be very long, or in smogon's case, 1337 page long warstory. Most of my strategy is brute force and not using bulky pokemon.

I almost always use my favorites shall it be in the appropriate tier. I choose Gardevoir > Espeon, gardy has better support movepool and nice bulk. It also isn't skuntank bait with WoW. Lately I run the most gimmiky set ever (salac @ sub / split / shadow ball / hp fighting) that doesn't outspeed base 125's after salac (one point =[). I love gimmicky sets (I don't resort to them though, usually I just mess around with my teams. My first team that I mentioned earlier with gengar, drugtrio, latias and salamence didn't even have stealth rock.) and stuff like that. My UU team is built by only pokes I like (well at least the main two that cause most of the damage) being Absol and Feraligatr.

I use Absol because she's (my own absol's gender, at least) a beast. I also like Haunter more than Gengar!

*approaches you*
Come here baby!

It all depends on the way you see things. Pokemon is meant to be played as a fun game and, for some people, the fun is in battling to become the best, while others just like collecting their favourites and battling as it is.

I could get into competitive battling and totally know what you're all really talking about, but I have too many other more pressing things of interest. I understood half of what y'all said, though. XD;
Same thing with me :/

@I'd run if I were you Zero. I'd run far away. xD

Lol, I wish I could do competitive battling, but I don't know where I should start. Maybe I should start by getting wifi on my pokemon games? XD

You don't need WiFi. To start competitive battling, read this article over at Smogon University. It should give you some insight as to what it takes to be a competitive battler, what you need to know and how to constantly improve your team and strategies. Once you've read through the article, understood it and want to get into the midst of it all, you can then use your WiFi or, if unavailable, download a program called ShoddyBattle - which is a simulator for Pokemon WiFi battles - and start battling from there.

Gengar is a good Pokemon for battling, I won my fair share with it :O

I just got back from the gym, and guess who I met at the gym? My freakin Ex gf. I was talking to this other girl that I met today who I kinda like and as soon as we get into a good convo my ex gf comes along and tells the other girl to go away because she said that she was my gf. Then she hugs me and I'm like wtf get off me. And then she was like you wanna go out and I was like hell no. And she started crying and ran off. I felt bad, but I don't want to go through what happened last time I went out with her.

-.-

My sarcasm detector is broken, so I'm having trouble interpreting your message :(
S&M is also Strategies and Movesets.

:3 I know, silly. It's called a joke. Hehehehe.

Charizard.. pardon my language.. but what the ****? ._. Your ex seems like a cunning and very jealous girl, and you're right for refusing her ._. You should go to the other girl and tell her that your ex was lying that you were together cause she's just... freaking jealous. :///

That's sooo.. I don't even know the word for that :/

One could consider obsessing over "strategies" and movesets like these people are doing to be a form of masochism. Because Pokémon is serious business, am I right?

Never read an article.

A pokemon's tier doesn't mean how over/under/middle rated it is. Gengar is epic but frail as hell so it needs to hide behind a ugly substitute, but really, Sub/Split/Focus Blast/Shadow Ball owns more than half metagame. It's a beast I rarely see online. I also like to try out forgotten and underrated ones, like Dugtrio. Dugtrio was my savior one match, taking out both ScarfTar and Blissey so my Latias swept his team. It was awesome. I had to sacrefice Gengar in the process though. The set I mentioned before for Gengar also kills all of Gengar's counters. Which is why I love it, and LOLPURSUITFAGS dies to it.

...If only Latias wasn't banned.. Oh well, I guess offensive Zapdos can work instead. Or SD Luke.

Wow you guys are super fast. You move in like a hawk!

The girl doesn't want to talk to me anymore because she thinks I cheat :/
I mean seeing my ex freaked me out, after I found her cheating on me with my friend she moved to Florida and that was a year ago and I was like wtf why are you here.

You sure she doesn't have another boyfriend that she wants to make jealous? >>

You can tell by its stats that it was never meant to take a hit. It's supposed to sweep, if anything. I'd say it's a shame it doesn't know Nasty Plot but I guess that's what Baton Pass is for.

Anyways, if a Pokemon is OU, it's OU for a reason. Flareon has great attack stats but it's ruined by its movepool and speed. I'd say Flareon is underrated but I don't like flat out lies.

._. Wow your ex just seems like a despicable person..
I'm sorry but I just find cheating to be the lowest form of low.. ._. Intimacy and sexuality is the closest connections you can get with another person.. and cheating just.. defiles that :///

:/ I'd stay far from your ex. She just seems like.. a whorish person who has nothing better to do than to follow you around and make sure no one else has you :///

I applaud you for staying so strong.

I'm pretty sure she doesn't have a bf, and she knows I hate her.
I mean seriously I don't know why she came to me and she told me she loves me and I was like I hate you.

I really mercy if my (future) boyfriend ever cheat on me.
I would be punching her in the face. I would have said that you have a new girlfriend if I was in your place.
Wouldn't you rather want to punch him in the face? I mean, I think the person who kept flirting would be more responsible, and it's almost always guys.
I'm pretty sure she doesn't have a bf, and she knows I hate her.

I suggest you pass. You already tried it before and she hurt you. What makes this any better?

Gengar NEEDS Sub to work. Gen 4 got choice scarfers, sub nullifies attempts to revenge kill Gengar. 110 base speed is great but means nothing when you have scarf jirachi / flygon (lol stone edge over tpunch) etc.
Also Scizor's movepool is crap, and it's very slow. I mean it's best option are getting intimidated and then walled by Gyarados. Breloom is a more awesome Scizor, but that's just imo.

And Charizard I kinda feel she's broke.. I mean going back to her ex after what she did and try to get him in bed try to befriend him again is kinda.. NO.
..Then again, I'm not much into relationships and I don't know how it goes.

Gosh stop being so quick!
And by mercy I mean MUCH, MUCH, MUCH MORE then just a punch to the face. The thing between his legs might even meet the sharp part of my heeled shoes (hopefully the translator got it right). That won't be a nice thing to experience.
