I don't have a good amount of shinys that I found myself. (Only 20 in all my games D: )

I think I've only ever found two. A Phanpy and a Hootoot, both in Sapphire. Though I've recently found out there's a PokeNav(?) that can alert your to a shiney Pokemon by glowing when it shakes. Might tyr giving that a go sometime.

Right now I'm going to try breeding my first ever 'EV' Pokemon. I'm using a Cranidos as my first test subject. I think I'll give it 10 Proteins, 2 HP Ups, 2 Calciums and 1 Iron. It sounds like it's going to take so long training him on only a certain Pokemon!

I find PokeRadar exceptionally easy to use.

Well, you're supposed to chain the same Pokemon up to 40 to have a decent chance at finding one.

Then you have to reset it constantly until a shiny patch appears, which has taken me up to an hour before. :(

I rarely play Pokemon for more than 15 minutes at a time nowadays. Too many other interests.
