Is it still worth that much? :( I swear I saw a mint one for like $5 a few years ago.

Was tempted to buy it just to satisfy my inner 10-year-old but didn't have any money on me at the time.

Well, reasonably, it's at most $10. Not too many people are looking for the older cards at the moment. I'm probably one of the few who is.

Me too o.O. Talk about drastic price uppings. I just started HeartGold. So yes, and I just beat Falkner, after losing twice, and cursing, and pointing my naughty finger at my DS. LOL

Which Holo Charizard's that? I have/had 3 Shiney ones, two of the normal ones and one Rocket one. I remember I got 5 Team Rocket Shiney Blastoises in a row (out of those packets). I was well annoyed!

I think my primary school banned them after a while, due to causing too much trouble. A guy in a wheelchair stole all 50 of my shinies (he could still walk though, I'd seem him do it often enough) so I pushed him over and got them back. That's what those cards did to me.

My elementary school banned them as a countermeasure to reports of older kids taking advantage of younger kids not knowing the monetary value of a card.

That's probably the best reason to ban them I have heard so far.

I can distinctly remember trading a shiny Venusaur card for something in primary school... and then they, like everywhere else, banned the Pokémon cards. I can't remember the reasoning behind it, but I know we were all unhappy about it.

They also banned yo-yos, because everyone at the time had started to collect those again but the strings were a "hazard" in the playground, and students were getting hit in the face with them. Ah, well. :(

There is no Shiny Venasaur card? Is there? Bulbapedia says there isn't.

These are the two Charizards I have.

One must be the Base Set you refer to, the other isn't Team Rocket in the end, I'm not sure which one it is.

I even have some Japenese shinies, like Heracross, Togetic and Steelix... no clue how I got them! Must've got them in a trade at some point.

They're probably talking about the holofoil one from the Base Set. Most people call holofoils shinies, even though there are cards like "Shining Noctowl" and "Shining Gyarados".

Oh, I never realized that.

I just always called them holos. D:

I have a Shining Magikarp, ooh.

Raikou, Pichu, Japanese Amphros, Dragonite, Mewtwo... I never actually played the card game, I just collected them because they looked cool. I'm holding onto them for the same reason, as well as hoping they might be worth something in a couple of years.

Do these cards have 1st/2nd/ 3rd editions etc.?

Every set that Wizards of the Coast printed (Base Set, Jungle, Fossil, Rocket, Gym Challenge, Gym Heroes, Neo Genesis, Neo Discovery, Neo Revelation, and Neo Destiny), with the exception of special sets like Southern Islands, Promos, and reprint sets like Base Set 2 and Legendary Collection, has a first edition version and an unlimited version.

The collector's market for those cards probably won't pick up until the economy recovers fully, if it picks up at all. Most collectors (but not all) are done collecting cards from the early sets. The only ones who aren't are the ones like myself who had limited income during the first time the cards were big.

I'm so bored I'm gonna go make a pizza. from Scratch expect for the pre-prepared dough I got.
EDIT: Anyone know a good sauce recipe?

No I know any sorry. I am not sue if my school banned pokemon cards. They are probley going to banned sillybands they hate those things lol.

I <3 Silly bands. LOL my little brother has like 20. We aren;t allowed to use them in class, but we are allowed to use them in the hallway, before class, and after class
