LET THE CAMPAIGNING BEGIN
The Underground Republic (UGR) has finished its party forming phase! There are 4 parties running in this season's elections.
One of the factions formed is the wholesome Hardwork Overcomes Problems Everywhere - Watchog, Ishimaru, and Nicki's Squad (HOPE WINS) party, which consists of Presidential Candidate Kiyotaka Ishimaru, Vice Presidential Candidate Nicki, and Secretarial Candidate Watchog. Their aim is to bring a better future for all, mafia, innocent, or third party alike.
Another is the meme-driven National Triggering Party (NTP) which consists of Presidential Candidate Trigglypuff, Vice Presidential Candidate Abby McDabby, and Secretarial Candidate Jeb Bush. Their objective is to bring peace through outrage.
The third party formed is the Rapture party, with Presidential Candidate Andrew Ryan, Vice Presidential Candidate Rare Pepe, and Secretarial Candidate Phoenix Wright as the core members of the faction. Their aim is to build a city within the UGR that has a set of ideals and values.
The last faction formed is a two-member party known as Team Shiny Skull (TSS), with Presidential Candidate Guzma, and Vice Presidential Candidate One Punch Man as the members. They have no general aim, however they can get their jobs done right.
Aside from the 4 parties, there are also 3 candidates that decided to run as independents. First off is Presidential Candidate Commander Superjolt, who wishes to build a strong UGR. Another is Secretarial Candidate Taylor Swift, who wishes to own the UGR and replace the snail motif with snakes, and Secretarial Candidate Spark, who aims to bring new programs in the UGR.
According to Salzorrah, the UGEC Head, polls have shown that the HOPE WINS party has initial support from the public, and Independent Secretarial Candidate Taylor Swift has the most support among the independents. It seems they would be getting a bump in their votes in their first voting phases.
It's time for the campaigning phase for the first Secretarial preliminaries. Question is, who's going to the end, and who's gonna meet it soon?

For this phase, you must send in your save vote, and if you wish, a favor action.
Save votes is a mechanic that would spice the election up a bit. Each party and independent candidate must send me who they wish to save. You may only save people that are up for vote in the next phase. If you are in a party, you may not vote for your own party member. The person who gets the most save votes gets saved in the next voting phase. If they end up at last place in the polls, they will be saved, and the next person who got the least amount of votes is forced to drop out. The result of the save vote will be revealed at the end of the voting phase. The save vote is mandatory. Failure to send this will incur a 30% reduction of votes in your next voting phase, and everyone in the save list getting an extra save vote.
Apart from the save vote are favor actions. They can only be used once per campaigning phase. For parties, the favor action list is found in the OP, and it is a shared action list. Independents get an enhanced favor action list, which is given to them through PM. Anarchists get a different favor action list, that was given to them at the start of the election season. You are not mandated to use your favor actions, but it is highly suggested you use them. Please state if you are not using your favor action for the phase.
The campaigning phase ends when all of the save votes and favor actions are sent.
Lastly, you may chat in the thread while the campaigning phase is ongoing.

CAMPAIGNING PHASE UPDATE:
Only one candidate has not submitted their save vote and their intentions of using their favor actions. Once this candidate has sent in their votes, the election season moves forward.
I'll also be reminding everyone that you can, and encouraged to, ask the public for votes in the UG Discord Channel or even PM your "friends" outside the UG but please be smart and careful, don't spam or bother random people for votes, and as much as possible don't do it on the main PC server. If I get complaints of this behavior, candidates in question will get a 20% reduction of votes and I'll be limiting the voting public to only the UG Discord Channel and UG snails.

THE SECRETARIAL PRELIMINARIES BEGIN
The Underground Republic (UGR) is ready to hold the Secretarial Preliminaries, which pits the 5 secretarial candidates for the top 4 secretarial slots in the election. These are HOPE WINS secretarial candidate Watchog, NTP secretarial candidate Jeb Bush, Rapture secretarial candidate Phoenix Wright, Independent secretarial candidate Taylor Swift, and Independent secretarial candidate Spark. Four of these candidates will advance to the next round of elections, while one is forced to drop out. The power is in your hands!
SECRETARIAL CANDIDATES
These candidates are up for voting in this phase. You may only choose among these candidates for your votes.
VOTING PHASE
As per the election code, all of the candidates of the election season must vote on who advances to the next round of elections. Each candidate and voter are given 3 sets of votes, with a value of 1, 3, and 5 votes. To vote, please use the format [VOTE position] Name of Candidate.
You must give out 3 sets of votes, and indicate each one on how many votes you may give. If there is no indication, the first vote will get the 5 votes, second vote with 3 votes, and the last vote with 1 vote.
You may not vote for yourself, or if you are in a party, your party mates.
For the candidates up for vote, you must also answer the pressing concern that will be given to you. Non-candidates can choose which candidate has the better answer to the pressing concern. If a candidate gets the most number of votes in this category, they will get a 20% increase in votes for this phase. If no voter steps forward with an interest, I as the UGEC head will determine who gets the increase in votes.
Once the phase ends, the votes are tallied first, then the vote modifiers are applied to the votes, which come from your actions, in which the final votes are then received.
The candidate with the least number of votes is forced to drop out of the election, unless they are saved by the save vote, in which case the candidate with the second least number of votes is forced to drop out.
Votes in this election season are cumulative, meaning that the votes you receive in this voting phase will carry over towards the next voting phase you are participating.
The voting phase ends one day (or on the weekend, whichever comes first) after the last candidate's votes are sent.
