It's that time of the year again! You can check out the categories and nominees here on the official website if you're curious, and the presentation will go live tomorrow (December 12th, or painfully early on the 13th depending on your timezone) at 8:30PM ET/5:30PM PT.

Perhaps more exciting than subjective critic awards that Death Stranding will probably win most of is that we also have the promise of "around 15 new games" to be revealed, as well as a more in-depth look at the long-awaited Ghosts of Tsushima, which received a tiny snippet at the end of that (frankly awful) State of Play aired yesterday promising more at TGA. Plus Reggie is going to be there as a host.

Will you be watching the presentation? Anything you'd like to see revealed, or are expecting? Which games from this year that you've played would you nominate for the categories in The Game Awards?

I'm excited for this because last year's Game Awards revealed Joker as the first Smash Ultimate DLC character, and we still don't know who the 5th one is. People have been joking that Reggie's appearance, in spite of him already having left Nintendo, is his last shot at giving us Mother 3, too. It's not going to happen of course, but it's a nice thought.

That said, I'll be looking out for this tomorrow morning. Hoping to see one or two crowd-pleasing announcements.

Edit: Well, it was a nice event! Seeing Reggie again and him give that heartfelt speech was lovely. No huge announcements unlike last year, but that's okay. There's still lots of things in 2020 to look forward to. :)

I'm actually amazed that Sekiro beat Death Stranding - I thought Kojima would have had more clout than yet another Souls clone. Death Stranding didn't win much at all...perhaps it's more divisive than the so-called critics made it out to be?

Of the games revealed only Bravely Default II really got my attention, and then not by much...I mean, as appealing as the games are they thrive on repetition, and it's not a very engaging kind of repetition, so until I see something that says they're going to take the narrative in a different direction, I'm not going to be all that interested in it. One to watch, but not one to be excited about.

Oh, and there was the Xbox Series X, I suppose. Excuse me whilst I try my hardest not to laugh.

Death Stranding is also quite a bit newer than Sekiro, so there's probably a familiarity aspect involved there. Plus I hear that it's very strange, perhaps too strange for some tastes or, maybe, some people just weren't able to "get" it?

I can't say much for sure, I haven't played it myself.
