4th Gen The "Is my Pokémon legit or not?" Thread

But i have every single 10 aniv pokemon shiny and non shiny. theyre all legit with the right coding and everything.
 
You can't even hack FireRed. How do you even know what to check for? And who's your reliable source?

Well to be honest we can't ever know 100% for sure that GBA Events can or cannot be shiny. While we have the algorithm for them and it allows for shinys, since at the end of the day they were traded and not generated by the GBA roms, the Nintendo people could have had instructions to skip all shiny pokemon. For NDS they automated this by having DPP generate the pokemon and skip any shiny pokemon.
By the same token, they might have had no such requirement and indeed shiny GBA events are possible. We might never know.

But again, we know the algorithm so if they very correctly then you might have legit pokemon. But IMO we won't ever know.
 
Tell me how you SR for a shiny GBA event received through link cable, which the 10 ANNIVs were.

If shiny GBA events were possible, they would not be something you can SR for, of course you know this. You would have to be incredibly lucky.

How the GBA events were generated they have a non-zero probability of being shiny. So I'm actually willing to bet that shiny GBA events were generated. Whether they were ever traded to someone at the event is a whole other question.
 
I've heard that 10ANIV's CAN be shiny, and that it's been proved 100%, but I'm not sure. Someone on smogon said it.

Well, maybe just say something like this:
"If you really want to know if a caught (not bred) Pokemon is hacked, PM ~Twister*, and he will find out if it's hacked. It might be hacked even if it comes back legit, but if it comes up hacked, then it's hacked. You must give nature and exact IVs."

Well, that is quite rare. It's actually impossible to catch Pokemon of most natures with those IVs; and even the natures who can have those IVs have such a low chance, that's it's not even worth trying.

If the name is in "normal" English, then it is most likely hacked.
 
It's more than likely hacked. I don't know off the top of my head where you can legitimately get an English Mew that's not an event.

Stats don't seem to abnormal, but it would have to be a very high level for the stats to be ok. The moves and stats don't seem too out of the ordinary. But yeah, can you give us the level and where the poke is from (ex: distant land)? And where/whom you received it from, like the GTS?
