Damion stood there, quietly with his Larvo on his shoulder. The music from his earphones calmed Damion after his battle, but soon the space around Damion seem to alter a bit as time resumed. Prof. Elm continued on his speech as if nothing happened, Damion squinted his eyes as the other trainers talked. The professor poked his glasses up and nodded his head,

'He knew?' Damion thought to himself.

"Well I guess my fears were correct, you aren't going to be safe on your journey…as you have just witnessed it seems they will be monitoring your process as trainers…You may very well be followed every step and hunted at some point…Why they are doing this I have no idea, but maybe it's time for you to learn about something that happened way before your time…You will not find this event in any history book or text…the only people who remember it are those who are still around, myself, Oak, and Rowan all worked to stop it along with a few selected trainers, many died along this time line. The event I am talking about can only be referred to as the Dark Days of Kanto." The professor stopped as a look of uneasiness spread across his face. Damion lowered his earphones and placed them around his neck as the professor began talking again,

"It was around 40-50 years ago, a young trainer went mad with power and vanished from the indigo league finals after losing to Zypher. This mans name was Beo and while he was gone he was in search of the ultimate power, to be able to control the shadows and he was successful in capturing Giratina. With this Pokémon's power he returned to Kanto and spread darkness throughout it causing everything to turn dark and die, Pokémon fled the area people fled from Kanto, the Indigo league was in ruins. Until Zypher set up the Clan of Hope, to face of against the Dark Brotherhood. Six new trainers took there place and fought huge odds to bring Kanto back to it's glory, some fell off the right path and landed in the darkness but eventually they all found there way back to the light. But Beo wouldn't let this stop him he captured Darkrai and then he went after the time controlling Pokémon Dialga with this he went back in time to make sure he won the Pokémon league finals that day, and kill Zypher there on the spot. But the clan of hope would not let this happen with the help of Celebi they traveled back and stopped him. Kanto went back to normal and the very Pokémon world was saved from the darkness…" Elm stopped talking for a bit as he wiped his forehead clean of sweat.

Damion's eyes shifted around the floor as several thoughts filled his head, his arms crossed as he began to think about his grandfather.

'Grandpa Tai...said something about this. If grandpa is in his sixties, he must've been my age around the time this happened.' Damion thought. He looked up, anxious for Elm to continue.

"Now these events most likely are not related but what scares me is that after the events Giratina's and Darkrai's pokeballs were given to Celebi and with the help of Dialga the two hid them in time and space…About a year ago a strange event happened in the Ilex forest home of Celebi…It just stopped in place…in time…Trainers have gone in…but have not come out…One of the trainers from the Clan of Hope, a close friend of mine has been investigating this event and it seems to be involved with the other missing trainers…Sadly though before he could finish his research it seems he was captured to or that is what his last message read…So I ask please do not go out there trying to be heroes and figure this out on your own…Just do what you can to stay safe…Now I need to go rest I'm feeling well…I will contact you in a few days…Good bye." Prof. Elm walked to the back of the laboratory as the trainers scattered and exited the lab. Damion stood there, arms crossed, collecting his thoughts.

'It must be true....I need to speak with grandpa Tai.' Damion thought as he began walking down the lab isle, 'I need to find out what's going on in Johto. Grandpa Tai is known for being a hero by Prof. Oak. Now it's my turn.' Damion thought calmly as he placed his earphones on his ears.

The sliding doors opened, NewBark Town opening up to Damion. He smirked as he adjusted his single-strap traveling bag, looking down at the Pokedex latched onto his right hip. He opened it to see the heading on the top screen:

Seen: 2
Own: 1

"Hmm..alright then. Looks like I'm a trainer now, my adventure is starting. Come on out Taro." he clicked the pokeball open to reveal a happy Larvitar, the smoke released from the ball circling his feet. Damion suddenly felt a vibration on his back, he lowered his earphones and quickly opened his bag. Inside was a box, on it was a picture of a red watch-like device. He opened it and took out a small device,

"A Pokegear?!" Damion was shocked as he looked on the small monitor. Incoming Message

Damion clicked a few buttons to read the message, it was from his grandfather. Damion smiled at the warm message from his grandfather, he clicked the PokeGear on his left wristband as he looked at light forest west of NewBark Town.

"Well Taro, let's go!" Damion grinned as the Larvitar happily trailed...

Setting Lily down, Kenneth turned to look at Prof. Elm. The man seemed to be a little stunned, but after a few moments he began to talk again as though the battle never happened.

"Well I guess my fears were correct, you aren't going to be safe on your journey.. as you have just witnessed it seems they will be monitoring your process as trainers.. You may very well be followed every step and hunted at some point.. Why they are doing this I have no idea, but maybe it's time for you to learn about something that happened way before your time.. You will not find this event in any history book or text.. the only people who remember it are those who are still around, myself, Oak, and Rowan all worked to stop it along with a few selected trainers, many died along this time line. The event I am talking about can only be referred to as the Dark Days of Kanto."

He was confused now. Never before had he heard of the Dark Days of Kanto and he didn't like the sound of 'they will be monitoring your process as trainers'. True be told, Kenneth didn't want to meet up with the guys in white cloaks again. It only made his heart beat a little faster at the thought. He shook his head, trying to dismiss it to the back of his mind. That's when the Professor began to speak again.

"It was around 40-50 years ago, a young trainer went mad with power and vanished from the indigo league finals after losing to Zypher. This mans name was Beo and while he was gone he was in search of the ultimate power, to be able to control the shadows and he was successful in capturing Giratina. With this pokemons power he returned to kanto and spread darkness throughout it causing everything to turn dark and die, pokemon fled the area people fled from Kanto, the Indigo league was in ruins. Until Zypher set up the Clan of Hope, to face of against the Dark Brotherhood. Six new trainers took there place and fought huge odds to bring Kanto back to it's glory, some fell off the right path and landed in the darkness but eventually they all found there way back to the light. But Beo wouldn't let this stop him he captured Darkrai and then he went after the time controlling pokemon Dialga with this he went back in time to make sure he won the pokemon league finals that day, and kill Zypher there on the spot. But the clan of hope would not let this happen with the help of Celebi they traveled back and stopped him. Kanto went back to normal and the very pokemon world was saved from the darkness.."

'Hmm, this happened around 40-50 years ago? Does grandpa know about this?' He shook his head again. 'Nah, probably not. I didn't read about anything like this when I went through his journals.' Still, he was worried since if the time of the events were correct then his grandpa would have been in his teens or early twenties. He felt something rubbing against his leg and looked down to see Lily. She smiled back and he patted her head.

"Poli!"

"Now these events most likely are not related but what scares me is that after the events Giratina's and Darkrai's pokeballs were given to Celebi and with the help of Dialga the two hid them in time and space… About a year ago a strange event happened in the Ilex forest home of Celebi… It just stopped in place.. in time.. Trainers have gone in.. but have not come out… One of the trainers from the Clan of Hope, a close friend of mine has been investigating this event and it seems to be involved with the other missing trainers.. Sadly though before he could finish his research it seems he was captured to or that is what his last message read… So I ask please do not go out there trying to be heroes and figure this out on your own.. Just do what you can to stay safe.. Now I need to go rest I'm feeling well.. I will contact you in a few days.. Good bye."

Kenneth watched, a bit shocked, as the old man left to the back room. 'Stopped in time? Is that even possible? After he was through the door he looked over at the other trainers in the room. A few discussed what they just heard but most of them just left without a word. At that moment, Kenneth felt a bit out of place so he turned around and headed for the exit with Lily tagging along behind him.

"Celebi and Dialga, the two pokemon of time. Where have I heard those two names before?"

"Ah! Route 29!" Jakki said with pleasure. "This is where it really begins." She surveyed the grassy field. "Hmm... Looks like a good place to catch some Pokemon." She pulled out her Pokedex and read the list of Pokemon found in the area. "Let's see. There are Pidgeys, which are very common this time of day." She contemplated getting a Pidgey, but dismissed the idea, since she already had one Flying-type, and wanted a well balanced team.

"There also are Sentrets, which are common as well. A Normal-type is usually very flexible, so I might get one of those." She continued to look at the list. "Well, there are Caterpies too, and they are easy to train, but they probably won't be too powerful in the long run. Besides, they also evolve into Flying-types. Alright, I'll look for a Sentret!"

As soon as she started to find a Sentret, she noticed another entry on the Pokedex. She looked at the last Pokemon on the list. "A Smeargle!" she said with glee. "They have the ability to learn every move! They may be rare, but this is the Pokemon I'm catching! I won't leave here until I find one!" She marched off into the grass, looking for a Smeargle.

Around twenty minutes later, Jakki still had yet to find a Smeargle. She sighed. "I guess they don't call them rare for nothing." Right before she was about to give up, she saw it. A Smeargle. The Smeargle. It was peacefully painting some flowers green, and Jakki knew that the moment of a lifetime had come. An angelic chorus sang in her head as she crept towards the blissfully unaware Pokemon.

"Go get it, Glimaru!" she shouted with great enthusiasm, as she released her Gligar. "Gligar!" It responded with the same energy as his trainer. Meanwhile, all of the other Pokemon fled, because they were startled by the volume of Jakki's voice.

"Glimaru, use Poison Sting!" Glimaru dove at the Smeargle and unleashed it's Poison Sting. However, the Smeargal quickly responded with a barrage of Scratch attacks. "Scratch?" Jakki thought in confusion. "This Smeargal must have already used it's Sketch fighting another Pokemon." Gligar flew back, out of the endless Scratch attacks.

"Glimaru, use your Sand Attack!" The Gligar did as it was commanded, and threw sand at the Smeargle's face. "Now, hit it with another Poison Sting!" Glimaru hit the Smeargle once more, but looked exausted, and was cringing. "Oh no, you must still be hurt from that fight with the Ditto. From the looks of it, you're poisoned." She frowned, at looked at the Smeargle, who still looked like it had energy left. "Oh, I really don't want to do this..." Jakki returned Glimaru to his Pokeball, and fled the battle, not even bothering to catch the Smeargle.

"Are you okay?" she asked Glimaru, who was resting in his Pokeball. "I want to get you to a Pokemon center, but I can't just leave this place empty handed!" She looked around the field for another Pokemon, but for some reason, she couldn't find any. "I wonder where all of the Pokemon went." she thought, not even considering the fact that she scared them off.

"I don't even care anymore!" Jakki shouted. "I'll just catch the first Pokemon I see!" Right as she said that, a Caterpie fell out of the tree in front of her. She stared down at the Pokemon, with a look that said, "You have got to be kidding me," which was, in fact, what she was thinking at that moment. As the Caterpie stared up at her with scared, pleading eyes, Jakki sighed and said, "You'll do."

Despite being injured, Glimaru made quick work of the Caterpie, and Jakki walked away with a brand new, yet unwanted, addition to her team.

A New beggining to an Old Story

Cairne could feel the air pushing the follicles of his hair in all directions as his fathers trusted steed Angel made her way towards the laboratory of his fathers friend Prof. Elm. Cairn could see the beautiful landscape speed below him and he could almost feel his body begin to pull away as the lab came closer and Angel slowed down. Off in the horizon Cairne could see the border of Kanto region, he thought of home and was excited to finally have his chance to make his parents proud. Angel touched down on the soft grass of the town and Cairne dismounted.

"Thanks old girl," Cairne said to the golden bird, " I'll miss you!"

Angel let out a beautiful coo that sounded like a beautiful chorus and filled Cairnes heart with happiness. Angel took off from the ground and Cairne was left smiling, as he walked at the nearby lab. Carine couldn't wait to prove himself to the world and someday be a great Trainer just like his grandfather. He began wondering what Pokemon he would get... Maybe a Pikachu like grandmom or a Abra like granddad... Or a Hippopotus like dad or maybe even if he was lucky a Snorunt like mom. He felt his heart racing with excitement.

He pushed the doors of the Lab open and got in line along with few of the other trainers there for their first Pokemon. Out came Elm he seemed to have a worried expression on his face.

"Today is an important day for you five young trainers, it is the day you get to set out on your journey and discover if you have what it takes to make it."
He paused for a second and rubbed his forehead as if he were contemplating something. Cairne saw the worry on his face he could feel it rubbing off on himself.

"But also... I'm sure most of you have heard about the recent problems arising within Johto.. Along your journey I will be reporting to each of you, giving you different missions, when I hear of events.. This may be dangerous as you gain experience and fame, the better you become the bigger a target you will become. First things first when you reach the Ilex forest.... wait for me to call you, don't just go in.. you may never get out!" Elm stood and took a deep breath, Cairne did his best not to laugh at his crazy outburst at the end of is speech.

"Now who wants there pokemon?" He said as a smile spread across his face. Cairne returned his smile and Elm winked at him. He handed Cairne the first set of balls and the Pokedex, he pulled him up close and in his ear whispered,

"Be patient with this one ... Okay?" Cairne thought to himself for a second... What could be wrong with it? But instead he just said,

"Thank you Professor, of course!" And returned a smile.

All of a sudden their was a loud bang and behind Cairne and the other trainers their was a huge blast of smoke and 8 cloaked trainers walked out each with a Pokeball in hand. They released their Pokemon all at the same time and each and every one of them were the same, Cairne already knew the Pokemon but he pulled out his Pokedex anyways.

Ditto
Transform Pokemon
It has the ability to reconstitute its entire cellular structure to transform into whatever it sees.

Cairne smiled, "Pokeball go!" he tossed his new ball out and from the ball came a small yellow camel looking Pokemon, Cairne wasn't exactly sure how to react so he just pulled out his Pokedex.
*pokemonelite2000 image removed*
Numel
Numb Pokemon
Its humped back stores intensely hot magma. In rain, the magma cools, slowing its movement.

"Transform!" The hooded man yelled and his Pokemon took the order perfectly.

"Numel use Tackle now!"Numel nodded and sped towards the Ditto.

"Do the same ditto!" The two collided midair and fell back. Numel stood up and seemed to have no fel any different than he did before, Ditto on the other hand took the hit pretty hard.

"Ditto use ember attack!" Ditto opened its mouth and small balls of fire came rushing at Numel.

"Dodge it now Numel!" Cairne yelled but his Pokemon opened his mouth wide insead of moving. Cairne was made angry by the disobedience until he saw what was happenening, Numel swallowed he flaming balls no problem and then smiled. He let iout a loud belch and a small sream of the orbs came back in the Dittos direction. Ditto took the hit hard again and fell over on its side.

"Numel tackle now!" Numel nodded and hit the imposter at full speed knocking him into a wall and sending him into unconsciousness. The cloaked men, each having ben defeated at this point threw smoke pellets at the ground and dissapeared. All Cairne could think was... What the hell just happened?

Sumner: Great Post! Cairne recieved a lvl 5 male Numel, a pokedex, and five pokeballs. Numel grew to lvl 6!!

Cairne turned and realized the Professor had been completely frozen during the whole fiasco. After a few moire seconds he began moving again. The professors face contorted into a socked expression but he fixed himself quite quickly and sighed.

"Professor didn't you see what just happened? We were assaulted by a group of trainers! They were all in these cloaks and barely spoke!"

The event I am talking about can only be referred to as the Dark Days of Kanto." Cairne knew exactly what was comming next, his grandfather had told him stories of what happened back then time and time again.

Kanto went back to normal and the very Pokemon world was saved from the darkness.." He paused and wiped his forehead. Cairne just sat and continued to listen.

Good bye." Elm turned and walked into a small room where a cot awaited him to lie upon.

Cairne understood now why his grandfather had wanted him to be ready to face the world, he knew it hadn't bee completely scourged of evil and he had to do whatever it took to take his place as a defender of the worlds peace. He left the lab and walked out onto the beautiful path that was route 27...

"Feels like the beginning of an epic journey ehh Baron?" He said looking down on his Numel smiling. He had no idea what he was getting himself into.

"Back to Route 29, then!" Kenneth yelled after exiting the lab. Lily jumped, frighten by her trainer's sudden outburst.

"Poli!!" Kenneth laughed nervously at the shivering poliwag. He bent down to look her in the eyes and gave her a reassuring pat on the head. Lily seemed to feel a little bit better after that and started to run around Kenneth. She failed miserably though falling only after a few steps.

"Take it easy." He said helping her up. 'I almost forgot that poliwags aren't used to walking on land. Maybe I should keep her in the pokeball.' He thought about it for a few seconds as Lily did her best to get used to walking. He soon came to a conclusion and reached for her pokeball on his belt.

"Do you wanna go back in your pokeball? It'll save you the trouble of walking." He waited for an answer but soon found his face and shirt drenched with water. "I'll take that as a no." He laughed again. It felt great to be drenched in water, especially considering how hot it was today. Without another word, the duo set of for Route 29. Kenneth sighed. Thanks to the few ledges along the route it was going to take them a bit longer to get back to Cherrygrove.
After walking for close to an hour, Kenneth decided to take a rest. He sat down by a tree for shade and watched as Lily tried to improve on her walking skills. She was doing good for a poliwag and to Kenneth's surprise she move really fast for a low level pokemon. However, she would still trip time from time and Kenneth would have to help her up but he didn't mind. He lay back against the tree and started to doze off. However before he could enter the peaceful state of sleep the phone of his pokegear began to ring.

Beep Beep. Incoming Call from: Mom

He answer the phone, with a slight smile on his face as he did his best to prepare his ears. "Hello?"

"KENNY!!!" The voice on the other end was loud enough to send nearby pokemon scattering. "Hey, mom."

"How's my little Kenny-wenni doing?" Kenneth blushed, hearing his nickname. His mom always called him that just to tease him because she found it absolutely adorable when her youngest son blushed from embarrassment. Then again, whose parent doesn't?

"I'm doing fine, mom. Right now I'm on my way back to Cherrygrove." He could see her on the screen of the pokegear. He laughed when he saw an eevee being chased by a houndour in the background. "Oh, already? So that means you've got your starter pokemon, right? Can I see it?"

"Sure thing, just one second. Lily!" He looked up from his pokegear and looked around the area. Much to his surprise Lily was nowhere to be found. His hear skipped a beat and he almost went into a state of panic, but kept his cool. He looked back at the screen, smiling.

"That'll have to hold. There's something I've gotta do." He hung up without a response and jumped from his position under the tree. He called out to Lily again, but the Poliwag was nowhere to be seen. Deciding that there was no time to waste he began to move out, searching for her. He check under every bush, dove into tall grass, and even took a glance up at trees with berries in them. His search came up unsuccessful.

"Darn, it's too fast. Sentret use foresight, then attack again with scratch!" Kenneth looked in the direction of the voice. 'Must be a trainer, maybe they've seen Lily!' He didn't waste anytime getting to the scene, but upon arriving he immediately had a change of heart. The trainer and his sentret wasn't fighting a wild pokemon, they were attacking Lily. They were so into the battle however, that they didn't notice Kenneth. He looked over at Lily who was busy dodging the sentret's attacks.

"Lily, use Bubble!" He called. Recognizing her trainer's voice, Lily took a deep breath and shot light blue bubbles from her mouth. The trainer and pokemon were shocked to see the poliwag attack back and to see that it had another trainer.

"So, this poliwag belongs to you?" Kenneth nodded, now standing behind Lily. "You've got that right and you're gonna pay for attacking her! Lily, use bubble again!" This time the sentret and its trainer were ready. On his call it dodge to the left and came charging at Lily.

"Now, scratch!"

"Dodge!" Lily made an attempt to move to the side but was still hit by the attack again. Before Kenneth could give her a command she was attacked again. 'Something's up. Just a moment ago she was easily dodging his attacks, now she's barely moving at all.' He rubbed his chin, watching as Lily failed every time she tried to dodge.

"Darn, it's too fast. Sentret use foresight, then attack again with scratch!"

Kenneth twitched remembering the effects of foresight. He knew that it not only allowed any type to attack ghost but he knew that it allowed the pokemon to hit evasive pokemon by 'reading' their next move. 'The only thing we can do is attack.' He looked at Lily, she looked like she was going to faint soon. He began to think of a plan. While doing so, Lily able to dodge a few scratches. 'All we need is an opening and we've got this. But how…wait a sec. Yes, that's it!'

"Finish this off with scratch!"

"Lily, block it with your tail!" Lily nodded, bring her tail in front of her just in time to intercept the attack. "Now, push his sentret back with bubble." Lily did as she was told, launching more bubbles from her mouth that sent the sentret back. "Bubble again, but this time aim at the ground."

"Come on sentret! We can win if you just get in one more SCRATCH!" The trainer called out. Kenneth smiled as the sentret ran at Lily again. It closed in and raised its arm, its claws glowing white. Just before it reach Lily it slipped, crashing into the ground.

"Sentret!"

"Let's wrap this up. Bubble!" This time sentret was overwhelmed by the bubbles and its trainer called him back. He shoved the pokeball into his pocket and turned around. "Jerk!" He called out as he left.

Not paying attention, Kenneth rushed over to Lily, checking her condition. 'Not good. She really took a beating from all those scratches. I'd better get her to a pokemon center.' He took out her pokeball and lightly tapped her on the head, drawing her in. He looked at her inside the ball and could tell that she wasn't happy.

"I know you don't like to be inside there, but you've got to get some rest." He said in a low voice, continuing his way to Cherrygrove City.

THIS BATTLE CONTAINS WIN!

Cairne and Baron continued out through the grass and watched the small critter skitter by happily gnawing on the grass and making happy noises. Baron halted walking all together and his face turned to great discontent. He began shuffling his head back and forth rapidly.

"Whats wrong Baron? Are you okay buddy?" Cairne said, worried about his new partner. Numel ignored his question and ran towards the nearest patch of grass knocking a Caterpie onto its side. Numel began eating happily nawing on the grass until he was completely satisfied. Cairne pinched his eyebrows.

"Done yet?" He said to the small camel-like Pokemon. Numel smiled up at him and said,

"Nummmmm!" before tunring around and taking another large mouthful of grass. Cairn couldn't help but face palm. All of a sudden from behind a bush an odd blonde boy jumped up and screamed at the top of his lungs.

"SO I HERD U LEIK MUDKIPZ!?" He screamed smiling with a stupid expression on his face grinning.

"Umm sure I do..." Cairne said and his Pokemon swallowed the large mouthful of grass.

"Well thats just.... FANTASTIC!" He screamed.

"You don't need to yell kid I'm right here..." Cairne said completely confused.

"BUT CAPS LOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL!" The boy said with a stupid grin.

"What...?" Was the only reacton Cairne could think of.

"You don't go on the internet that much do you kid? Oh well lets go mudkip! Show him who's boss!" He tossed his Pokeball and out of it came a small blue Pokemon with orange cheeks and a goofy smile like his trainers. Cairne pulled out his Pokedex.

MUDKEIPZ
THE MEME POKEMANZ
SO I HERD YOU LEIK THEM?

"Oh not you too!" Cairne screamed at his pokedex and his adversary chuckled outloud.

"Use tackle Mudkip!" The odd blond trainer yelled out loud and his Pokemon came charging at Numel knocking him to the ground.

"Show him a real tackle Baron! And then follow up with an ember!" He yelled wrapped up in the excitement of battles. Baron heabutted the Mudkip directly on the head bumping him to the ground and causing him to become stunned. He then shot small orbs of fire at him and left him with small burns.

"Mudkip no! Quickly use your Water Gun attack!" Mudkip shot sprays of cold water at Numel doing a lot of damage and causing his whole body to slow down.

"The magma in your back must be freezing! Quickly try to tackle!" Baron tried to walk forward but his past made it so a tackle really wouldnt do much damage at all.

"Forget it Baron! Just look downwards!" Cairne said formulating a plan.

"Given up the will to fight I see! Well then in that case, Mudkip use tackle!" Mudkip rushed at Baron and got dreadfully close to hitting him but Cairne yelled out a command.

"Baron use your ember attack at the ground!" BAron listened to his trainer and was launched upwards into the sky. Mudkip slammed his head off the rock behind Baron and then was smashed by Barons tough body as he fell from the sky.

"Return Mudkip!" The boy said. "You know what that means?"

"What.. You have another Pokemon?" Cairne said confused and worried.

"F*** yeah SEAKING!" He yelled and tossed the other ball he had in hand at the ground. Out of the ball came a goldfish that shattered the boulder Mudkip had recently slammed into and thenproceded to flop all over the ground. All of a sudden the boys phone rang and he picked it up.

"A SHINY PIDGEY!? NO WAY! MUST HAZ! HOPEFULLY MY GIRLFRIEND DOESN'T GET IN MY WAY AGAIN!" He yelled into the phone. "Sorry to cut this battle short, but I have to go." He siad and returned his Pokemon. He quickly began running down the path towards Cherygrove and out of sight.

"Seriously..." Cairne said, "This just gets weirder and weirder ehh?"

Route 29...

About half an hour after Damion had left NewBark Town he reached a nice, clear river. He sat down on the bank and placed his foot on a rock a few inches away so he wouldn't fall. He closed his eyes as his thoughts were drowned out by the music he was listening to, he opened one eye to look at Taro running around chasing a butterfly.

"Haha. Taro, don't go wandering off to far." Damion chuckled as he flipped open his pokedex,

"Let's see what pokemon are around here," Damion started as he looked at his PokeGear, "Route 29. Let's see...." The Pokedex's screen loaded as a couple of pokemon images appeared.

"Pidgey, Caterpie, Sentret, and Smeargle." Damion smirked, "I won't waste my time on Pidgey and Caterpie, I want Johto pokemon." Damion frowned at the fact that there were no flying Johto Pokemon in this Route.

In the distance, across the river, was a mysterious pokemon. Tan in color, with a paintbrush for a tail. Damion erected his back as the pokemon ran across the opposite river bank,

"Smeargle!" Damion grinned, but saw several scratches on the pokemon. Taro leaped onto the rock where Damion had his foot, ready to leap to the other rocks to go battle the Smeargle.

"No Taro, leave it. Even if we did win, it would't really be a victory if the enemy was at a disadvantage." Damion said plainly, Taro nodded and climbed on Damion's shoulder as he stood up. The boy began to walk down the road yet again with Taro on his shoulder,

"TRET!!! SENTRET!!!" Damion heard a loud screech, even through his music. He lowered his earphones to hear the screach again,

"What is that?!" Damion yelled out to see a small rabbit-like pokemon in the distant. It was short and stout, but gave off a tall appearance due to the fact it was standing on its tail. Damion's pokedex blipped:

[PokeCommunity.com] The Johto Leagues Fate
Scout Pokemon
It stands on its tail so it can see a long way. If it spots an enemy, it cries loudly to warn its kind.

"It's warning it's kind?!" Damion shouted as he made a dash across the river, making sure Taro was safe. When they reached the other side of the bank a large Sentret stood on its tail, seemingly ordering the entire colony,

"That's their leader. If we take him out then the whole colony will disband." Damion shouted out as the Sentret continued to make their way to the river. The larger Sentret, the leader, took the lead in the horde and made its way for Damion first.

"Taro! Leer!!" Damion shouted, the small green pokemon used its tranced eyes to freeze the Sentret in its tracks.

"Now! Use Sandstrom to keep the others out!!" Damion ordered, Taro nodded as it held its arms out. It screamed out as all of the sand in the area gathered in the sky and spread out across the sky, covering the sun.

"Good work!" Damion grinned at the sight of the other Sentrets lost in the sandstorm. The leader had a horrible look on its face as it curled up, its body turning a silver shade.

"That's defence curl!! It's raising its defence, but tahnks to Leer it'll just revert to its normal defence level. Now, use Bite!" The Larvitar dashed at the Sentret through the sandstorm and bit into its already weakened body,

"Good work! Now, thanks to Sandstorm. I can catch this thing! Go! Pokebal!!" Damion shouted out as he threw the ball at the Sentret. The ball opened and sucked the pokemon inside, it closed promptly and fumbled on the floor.

After a few rolls. Ding! Sentret was caught!

The sandstorm subsided as Damion ran for the Pokeball. The other Sentret scattered around the route, their leader now captured they can go off on their own.

"Yeah! Our first Johto capture!!" Damion held up Taro in his arms,

"Gotcha, Tret!" Damion nicknamed the pokemon on the spot. The boy and his pokemon walked down the road.

Finally Liliana was out of that building. Don't get her wrong, she has nothing against the laboratory, but after what just happened she was happy to be in the open again. That old man was obviously delusional. Not that he was that old, really, but delusional was what he was. No one was going to care about what she did, was going to stalk her. That is preposterous! But still, if it meant getting a Pokémon she would do what the man asked her to do. It was the least she could do for getting Nala.

While she exited the town and into the next route she did see a lot little creatures scurrying away, but she didn't feel the need to pursue them. She would catch a Pokémon later on. For now all she wanted to do was get away from the strange happenings in New Bark and into Cherrygrove. Nala was walking beside her, Liliana felt no need to keep her inside the Poké Ball all of the time. She was a grass Pokémon, she deserved to be walking around in the forest!

Halfway to Cherrygrove she got stopped by a little boy. He looked like he was about 9 years old with a orange baseball cap, a white polo and some blue shorts. He wore socks and sandals too. He looked a little bit ragtag, like he just put on whatever was in his reach this morning. He had a bright head of yellow hair with eager yellow eyes.

"Excuse me miss! I just caught these two Pokémon, would you like a battle?"

He was truly adorable with his big eyes and his 'miss'. She simply couldn't say no to him. And so she and the boy, who introduced himself as Leo, went to stand a couple of meters apart while she watched him release a tiny little Sentret. It was very small, probably the smallest Sentret she had ever seen. It also looked a little bit frightened. Nala, however, was itching for another fight. She had tasted one and now she wanted more.
Liliana let Leo go first, she waited patiently as he decided what to do.

"Tret, use Scratch!" Tret hesitantly obeyed his master as he ran uncertainly toward my Nala. Liliana quickly commanded her to counter it was a Razor Leaf, the move she had only just learned. Nala uncertainly shook her head and released three leaves that hit Tret squire in the head while he was advancing. He stopped and shook his head, as if he was trying to shake off the damage. Nala seemed to be very proud of herself for pulling it off for the first time.

"Nala, now is not the time to become sloppy, follow it up with a tackle, and not with your head!" Nala was halfway through the move, going head first, when she decided to listen to her trainer and turned just in time to hit Tret with her shoulder. The creature seemed to be at loss of what to do, and so did Leo. He obviously had as little experience as his Sentret.

"Tret… Eeeehm… Use scratch again!" The Sentret advanced again, but one Razor Leaf of Nala took him out. Leo seemed at the verge of tears when he took back his Tret.

"Hey, no hard feelings okay? It was a fair match and you did well."

"But it's not over yet! I still have Cat!" He quickly said it, as if I'd disappear in the second he delayed. I nodded and Nala waited patiently for him to call out this Cat. Leo threw his Poké Ball in the air and it opened to a Caterpie. This one was in a better shape than the Sentet, causing Liliana to suspect he had borrowed Cat to catch Tret.

"Cat, use tackle!" When Leo commanded Cat obliged. It was pretty fast for a Caterpie, Liliana had to admit that. It jumped toward Nala and hit her quite hard. Nala, who already had quite the beating from the Ditto, started to look a little weakened.

"Hang in there Nala, use Razor Blade!" Three razor sharp leaves flew toward Caterpie, but the bug Pokémon didn't seem fazed at all. Instead it fired a String Short without a command from Leo that entrapped Nala.
"Nala, cut them loose with a Razor Leaf!" It took her a couple of tried to get herself away from the sticky thread that was surrounding her, but in the end she succeeded and charged into a tackle Liliana asked her to do. She hit correctly, with her shoulder instead of her head, and Cat looked like it took quite some damage.

Cat tried to String Shot Nala again but she side-stepped it and launched another tackle. Meanwhile Leo stood by not knowing what to do. Cat was doing everything by itself, not taking any commands anymore. Nala's tackle hit it and it finally fainted. Leo looked quite panicked as he called it back.
"Leo, I would suggest you train on your own for a while before challenging anyone else, okay. You can't just stand by and make the Pokémon do it all on its own, you have to be there for them and tell them what to do."

Liliana gave him a smile as she left him to resume her journey to Cherrygrove city, which was closer than she'd thought it was. That was very fortunate because Nala was facing the aftermath of the two battles. Liliana decided to keep her safely tucked inside the Poké Ball and she hurried to get her back to the Center safely.

I guess I will be grading today just so the people who want to move on have freedom to do so,

Chapter two-Secrets Revealed

"Professor Elm?" Scythe awkwardly said to the man who was just frozen in time. "Yes?" the professor said back. Elm looked very confused as to why all the new trainers were just staring at him and before Scythe could say something else, almost all the other trainers butted in and mentioned what just happened.

Elm looked nervous for a second and than began to speak..."Well I guess my fears were correct, you aren't going to be safe on your journey.. as you have just witnessed it seems they will be monitoring your process as trainers..

"The dark days of Kanto? What the hell is that?" Scythe said silently to himself as he clutched his Pikachu's pokeball firmly in his hand. Scythe didn't know what to think and it looked as if most of the other trainers felt the same.

As the trainers began to mumble among themsevles Elm began to speak again,"It was around 40-50 years ago, a young trainer went mad with power and vanished from the indigo league finals after losing to Zypher.

"Ahhhh" Scythe let out as he was stunned speechless from what Elm had just said. "How could it be possible if no one has ever heard of it...and how could Elm, Oak, Rowan and all those trainers remember everything if they had successfully changed time. Maybe its because they were all back in time changing it and therefore they remembered everything..but it still sounds a little fishy to me. Than again who am i to argue with what just clearly happened..." Scythe thought to himself as he prepared to hear Elm speak again.

Good bye." Elm turned and walked into a small room where a cot awaited him to lie upon.

Scythe paused for one more moment as thoughts continued to go through his head..."Celebi..Dialga? There just rumors arent they...well maybe there not...hmmm maybe i should check out Ilex Forest even though Elm said no...or maybe i should do nothing.." Scythe than stared at Pikachus pokeball and exited Elm's lab.

As he entered the beautiful sunny day he could only imagine what it would be like if the world was shrouded in darkness, and as he watched the other trainers walk towards Cherry Grove City he knew it didn't matter.

"Come on out Pikachu!" Scythe said as he released his partner pokemon. "PIII" the pokemon said as it scratched its nose. Scythe walked over to the pokemon and rubbed it's head, "What do you say we give you a nickname lil buddy?" the boy said to the pokemon. "KAAA" Pikachu let out with excitement. Scythe looked at him and said, "Alright from now on i'll call you Chukapi." "PIII!" Chukapi said as if it liked the nickname.

"Alright Chukapi let's go!" Scythe hollered as he pointed his arm forward.

@Tim0789- Good Post... Love Chukapis name... I SEE WHAT YOU DID THAR! XD Go ahead and move on!

Chapter 2 post 2-Crazy Bird

"Hmmph it's been about 2 hours since we left Elm's lab Chukapis...we haven't seen one pokemon and i think were lost.." Scythe sadly said to his first pokemon that was still walking beside him. "Pi?" the yellow pokemon confusingly said. "Ha....maybe we should just take a break." The boy said as he slid off his green coat to reveal a black tank top.

Scythe and Chukapis sat down for a bit to relax as Scythe began to pull snacks out of his backpack. "Lucky for us dad packed me up quite a bit of snacks!" he said to Chukapis. "PI PI!" the excited Pikachu said as it scurried over beside it's trainer and grabbed the bag of chips. "Hey we can share Chu!" Scythe started yelling at Chukapis as the two began to pull the bag back and fourth. "Piiiidgeeeey!" A bird like pokemon hollered as it sored down from the tree above and snatched the bag of chips out of Scythe's and Chukapis's hands.

"Ah hey!" Scythe angrily yelled at the bird as he pulled out his pokedex. "Pidgey - the bird type pokemon. These pokemon are known for stealing food from begining trainers." The pokedex said to Scythe. "Grr well this Pidgey won't be eating my chips...not today, you ready for a battle Chukapis?" Scythe asked his pokemon with a confident look. "PIKA!" the pokemon screamed out as sparks came out of it's cheeks, for it to was angry about the chips.

"Pid Pid Pid GEY!" the Pidgey laughed as it began to snack on the chips not worried about Scythe or Chukapis. "Alright Chukapis climb that tree and use Thundershock!" Scythe ordered. "KA!" the Pikachu shouted as it began climbing up a tree nearest to Pidgey. The Pidgey glanced over at Chukapis and than contiuned to snack. "Now Chukapis!" Scythe commanded!. "PIIIKAAA!" Chukapis estaticly yelled as it jumped off the branch and Shot out electric bolts from its cheeks straight at Pidgey. "Pidg" the Pidgey grunted as it dodged the attack by flying to the side with the bag of chips still hanging from it's mouth.

"You still good to go Chu?" Scythe asked Chukapis after it landed back on the ground. Chukapis gave a nod showing that it was very intrigued with the battle. "Ok use...huh? Watch out Chukapis!" Scythe hollered to his pokemon as he releazed the Pidgey was coming straight in with a tackle attack. "Piii!" Chukapis let out as it started to run away from the fast flying Pidgey. "PIDDDDDGEEEYY!" The Pidgey hollered as it slammed straight into Chukapis. "Kaaaa!" Chukapis yelped as it rolled forward into Scythe's legs from the attack.

"Ah are you ok?" the trainer asked worridley. Chukapis picked its head up and winked at Scythe than showed him what he had in his hands. "You got the chips?" Scythe said happily realizing that Chukapis had let Pidgey attack so it could grab the chips out of it's mouth. Scythe than looked up in the air and noticed that Pidgey wasn't to happy about that one. "Pidddggggggggggggggg EEYYYYYY!" the now furious bird pokemon blasted as it sprang forward for both Chukapis and Scythe.

"Hmmph you never let your anger get out of hand cause than you lose the battle! Chukapis give it your strongest thundershock!" Scythe scorchingly said to his pokemon. "PIIII KAAA CHUUUUUU!!!!" Chukapis let out as it sent about a hundred bolts of lightning streaming at the attacking Pidgey. "Pid?" the bird pokemon yelped as it tried to stop and go the other way but it was to late, the attack made full contact throwing pidgey into a tree.

"Alright Chukapis you did it!" Scythe exclaimed as he ran over and picked up his friend. "Pii." the pokemon exhaustedly said as it fell asleep in Scythe's hands. "Ha take a rest buddy." he said as he set Chukapis down on his coat. "Ok Pidgey time to add you to the team...your speed would be a great help!" he said as he tossed a pokeball at the fainted bird.

Part 2

Through the mayors door you can hear two men arguing.

"Now Mr.Mayor, wouldn't it be nice if you paid us to protect this small town here from invaders and such instead of calling us common thieves? I mean you wouldn't want the town to get a reputation for being home to a bunch of thieves would you?" You hear a gruff deep voice say.

"What are you talking about?" The other older sounding man says, "Either way you will continue to terrorize anyone who walks through the town! How would giving you money help any of us?"

The deep voiced man laughs, "Well I think giving us a protection fee would help you very much actually...." You hear a schwing sort of sound and a gasp from the mayor. "I mean right now we are just thieves... We could also end up being murderers if you don't pay me for your own protection."

"No.. Please..." The mayor says.

"Make your choice now!" The young man yelled and you feel the doors weigh give way underneath you. You must have accidentally turned the knob while leaning on it. You finally get a good look at the two men, one is an elderly old man with a bowler hat and a white mustache, most likely the mayor, and the other is a tall muscular man with a harsh face.

"Who the hell are you!?" The man says. Aiming his switchblade in your direction. The man stops and laughs noticing your Pokemon and says. "Hmm... Maybe there is a better way of settling this!" He grinned and pulled out a Pokeball.

You fight the leader of the highwaymen and just barely pull out the win. When you win the man grabs you by the shirt and says," Your lucky I am a man of my honor kid, because if I hadn't been!" He holds the knife at your throat and sheaths it while laughing.

"Come on boys!" He says walking out and the two men you had beaten before come out from the bushes and follow behind their leader. You turn to the mayor who thanks you and begins shaking your hand. And he rewards you with a gift! (I CHOOSE THE GIFT! END THE POST WITH HIM OFFERING YOU A GIFT... JUST A GIFT!)

Sahib smiled slightly as it stopped. Cyndaquil sat panting on the dirty ground. Sahib picked up Sentret's Pokeball and looked at Cyndaquil. Hang on, buddy, he thought silently as he picked up Cyndaquil and ran towards Cherrygrove. As he neared, he thought he saw the form of two men up ahead. Oh crap! Sahib thought, skidding to a stop and clenching his teeth. He set Cyndaquil down and rummaged through his pack. Finding nothing that would help, he cursed and sighed softly. Cyndaquil looked up. Sahib grabbed Cyndaquil's Pokeball and returned him, hoping that he could make it past them if he kept his head down.

As he walked, Sahib stuffed his hands in his pockets and kept his eyes firmly planted to the ground. Before he could slip past them, however, one of them grabbed the collar of his shirt. Sahib whipped around, smacking the man's hand away and glaring at him. Well there goes that, Sahib thought, baring his teeth angrily.

"Heh, hey ya little baby, wanna fight?" the first man asked, bringing out a Pokeball. Sahib moved to take a step back when the other man blocked his way. Fine, if you want it that way, Sahib thought.

"Sure. One condition though…I want a double battle," Sahib stated. The men both started laughing, but agreed. "Let's go," Sahib moved away from them. He grabbed his Pokeballs and tossed them up in the air. In two flashes of light, Sentret and Cyndaquil appeared, both looking rather beaten up. The men laughed harder but brought out their Pokémon as well. Sahib looked at the Riolu and Croagunk before quickly registering them to his Pokedex.

"Cyndaquil, you watch out for Croagunk! Sentret, watch out for that Riolu," Sahib ordered quickly. He almost felt like a military commander the way he was doing this. "Now…Cyndaquil let's open with a smokescreen! Then you guys both follow up with tackle on either of the Pokémon!" Sahib called. Cyndaquil quickly produced a haze of thick, black smoke. It covered the field, causing the men to cry out. Seconds later, there was a harsh tackle sound, and Riolu came flying out of the smoke. It caught the ground with its paw and skidded to a stop, looking rather angered.

"Why you little…" the man who owned the Riolu growled. "Riolu, hit them with a quick attack!" the man shouted, clenching his bulky fist.

"Cyndaquil, go after Croagunk with leer!" Sahib called, hoping to finish off at least one of them quickly. Cyndaquil leered at Croagunk as the smoke started to clear. There was a cry from Sentret as it got smashed by the heavy quick attack. Sahib clenched his teeth, wondering exactly what he could do. Suddenly he had a plan, but he wasn't exactly sure if it would work. "Sentret, attack Croagunk with tackle! Cyndaquil, cover Sentret with a smokescreen near Riolu!"

Cyndaquil unleashed another smokescreen, but this time (because Riolu was so far away after the quick attack) it only covered Riolu. Sentret succeeded into hitting Croagunk, and then carefully bounced away so it wouldn't get hit again. Suddenly Croagunk retaliated with a poison sting, sending sharp white barbs smashing into Cyndaquil. Sahib clenched his teeth. Soon the attack stopped, but Cyndaquil looked much worse for the wear. Sahib glanced around and saw that the smoke was slowly clearing on Riolu.

"Cyndaquil, go attack Riolu with a tackle!" Sahib called.

"Riolu, wait for it!" his trainer replied. Cyndaquil smacked into Riolu, but then… "Counter!" the man called. Riolu whipped around and slammed Cyndaquil with an attack on its own. It sent Cyndaquil skidding into the dust, looking rather hurt and beaten up. Sentret looked around in fear, unsure of what to do.

"Ngh…" Sahib bit his lip, trying to calculate what to do next. He had an idea, but he knew it might sacrifice Cyndaquil…and it might not even win the match. "Cyndaquil, light your flame!" Sahib shouted desperately. Cyndaquil slowly got up, and stared at Sahib in confusion. "Your back! Light it up!" Sahib cried out.

"Ha! The puny little thing can't even burn properly!" the Croagunk's owner laughed. "Enough games, let's finish this. Croagunk, go use astonish on the Cyndaquil!" Croagunk nodded and began to move closer to Cyndaquil.

Sentret launched himself in front of Cyndaquil and angrily looked at Croagunk. Sahib continued to urge Cyndaquil on, until finally a tiny flame began on its back. I know it doesn't have its fire yet, Sahib thought, but I can still do this! Finally both Riolu and Croagunk were close enough.

"Sentret, launch Cyndaquil towards Riolu! Then attack Croagunk with tackle!" Sahib called. Cyndaquil leapt up to make it easier, and then Sentret hit Cyndaquil with its tail, sending it careening towards Riolu. Riolu blinked in surprise, but wasn't fast enough. Cyndaquil's back smashed into Riolu in a flaming tackle, effectively fainting the Pokémon. Sentret smashed into Croagunk, causing it to fly back and land smack in the dust. "You two finish off Croagunk with a double tackle!" Sahib called, hoping to catch the Croagunk weak. His plan worked, and suddenly it was over.

"Little…" the men growled. They returned their Pokémon and then turned and ran away.

Sahib ran to Cyndaquil and saw it was very near its limit. He returned Cyndaquil and then Sentret. With a final glance to where the men were, Sahib ran towards Cherrygrove, desperate to get to a Pokémon Center. All the while he ran, he couldn't help but wonder what the hell was going on and that he had to tell someone.

At the Pokémon Center, Sahib got thoroughly berated by Nurse Joy when he turned his Pokémon over. Now he was sitting on a couch, waiting for them to be ready to go. He knew that as soon as they were, he was going to go see the mayor of the town. Sahib needed to warn someone. He also wanted to kick those biker jerks in their…butts, but he just sat there and brooded. Finally his Pokémon were ready to go, so Sahib stood up and took them. He thanked Nurse Joy and promised they'd never end up that way again. Then he ran out of the Pokémon Center and headed towards the mayor's building.

When he had first arrived in Cherrygrove, Sahib wasn't too focused on his surroundings. He now noticed that it was a rather small, yet beautiful city. He arrived at the building and went inside, finding it odd no one was really there. Sahib climbed up the stairs, and opened the door to the main office. His eyebrows shot up when he saw two men in the office (but they hadn't seen him yet). Well, here we go again, he thought dryly.
