There's no competition here (therefore nothing really to discuss). Kingdom Hearts is one of the few games I put down and never looked at again because it was boring and lacked any reason for me to want to finish it.

That isn't to say that LoZ's given us many of its exceptional games lately. Minish Cap and Phantom Hourglass both are questionably meeting standards when compared to A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, the Oracles, Ocarina of Time, and (I suppose) Majora's Mask. Wind Waker may very well be the turning point...unless Minish Cap came first. I can't remember.
If The Minish Cap and Majora's Mask are iffy but the Oracles are somehow some kind of standard, then you have a really odd sense of quality O_o

I haven't played a KH title. I really, really want to - but I don't have a PS2. Don't want my first experience to be one of the spin-offs. So, I can't really compare them or judge.

Legend of zelda! best game series in the world, such well thought out story lines in every game, and gannon baseball in ocarina of time is always a hoot :]!

Legend of Zelda. Nothing like exploring and twists.

I can't really decide. I love KH, but LoZ and I go way back.
They both have a great take on gaming and a lot of mystery around the story along with great gameplay.

I can't decide between the two.

Legend Of Zelda has done it all for me. I can go and play all the games again and again. LoZ has my vote. OoT & Windwaker would be my favourites form the series.

But isn't it always "Kill Ganon, Save Princess?"
Sometimes she's kidnapped at the beginning and sometimes it happens during the last act of the game. There is usually a separate plot going on before she gets kidnapped.

Not saying it's better than Kingdom Hearts. But there is a little bit more depth going on than most people give it credit for.

Honestly, I like Zelda more. It's kind of odd, but playing the Zelda series literally changed my life. Haha, sounds cheezy. The only games I like from KH would probably be the second one, and 358/2 days (mainly just for Xion and Roxas.) but yeah. Besides, for some reason, the Zelda games put a bit more excitement in being the hero. I dunno. Sora is cool and all, but blahh..
Although the music on KH is a little more soothing.. haha. But that's not really what we're aiming for, is it? : P

Still though, if I was Link I'd be pissed. No matter how many times I kill Ganon and save Zelda, Ganon manages to come back and Zelda manages to get herself captured yet again. I mean, after like the third we go through the process I'd be all like "You know what Zelda find your own damn way out, maybe I'm tired of saving you. Have you ever thought that maybe I wanted to do something else with my life? Like I wanted to open a shoe shop and invent new shoes that no one has ever seen before, but you would never think to ask because you're a selfish princess. In fact, I think I'm going to help Ganon so that we can all hurry up and start this all over again next life. Now GTFO!" >:O

But, you know, that's just me...

Uhm... he can't say it... since basically in every game it's a different Link and Zelda. If it's the same link (as in Majora's Mask) he needs to save someone/thing else. In MM he starts looking for Navi, teams up with another fairy and she kinda forces him to find her companion. Link, who was transformed into a Deku, has other things on his mind, and the two end up in Clock Town... It's that that linear of a story.
In Oracle of Ages/Seasons, it are the Oracles that are abducted, not Zelda. She doesn't even have a major role in the two games. As Triforce said, the games of Zelda are much less linear then how you seem to see them. o3o"
Maybe the basic goal is the same in most games, but how Link gets to discover that it is Ganon who's behind it all, is a bending road.

Legend of Zelda gets my vote...
I know that my tiny experience with "Kingdomhearts: Chain of Memories" (GBA), can't fully make me grasp what KH is about, but it's all I can base my judgement on.
There is something about mixing FF and Disney though. :o
I have played FF as well (4 and 6 for GBA), and again, I will say that it is too little experience to fully grasp the game... but I will say that neither (KH or FF) managed to suck me into their universe as Zelda did...

I say Kingdom Hearts, Because its my favorite game series, and since KHIIFM+(Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+) came out, I been loving every min of it. Critical Mode is pretty hard, specially Lv1. But other KH games always I love to replay, Like KHFM(Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix), or KHReCoM(Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories), and KH358/2Days all have very good replay vaule, and I love the game play, Action RPG is my favorite thing to go, I love how you see the enemy and you can just go and attack him, same with Zelda as well, But I love the game play more in KH no offense, and I love the Soundtrack, the complete soundtrack is worth getting(I dont own it, I downloaded it), but a very good soundtrack, and there is more to come from the world of KH.

I sort of like Zelda, I never really played it, I played some of them, but that just its, I forgot which ones tho.

But I say The Kingdom Hearts Series

Generally a single Link and Zelda only appear in two games. Seems weird for say...Twilight Princess Link to complain about what previous Links had to go through.

If you think about it closely, Link can't complain since... He can't talk! XD He can only make random noises but he can't talk. But for some reason people can read his mind. Or at least... they believed that's what Link meant at the time without knowing what's actually in Link's mind. He's kinda like the Pokemon Trainer you play as. Except no Pokemon... AND WITH A SWORD AND A SHIELD! XD POKEMON TRAINER LINK! XD

Why would you even search that far back for a thread?
