I have decided to open a poll for the fate of the Gen 6 Exp Share. It seems to me that X and Y do seem to be made with it in mind, but that doesn't mean it's necessary either. So I'll poll for what you guys think for the next 2 weeks, and make a decision based on the results.

Sorry about that. I was kinda busy earlier and it looked like part of your sign up. To answer the question, since the Serperior of that game has your type, you're allowed to use it.

I think the Exp. Share should be allowed. Honestly, I almost always spend a little time grinding right before Wulfric and sometimes again before the Elite Four to get my team at the same level as they would be with the Exp. Share on. So allowing it would just save a little time spent on mindless grinding. However, one thing that I don't like about it is that, at least for me, I ended up never using Quilladin in my first run through X because the Exp. Share got him high enough to evolve while I was training my other team members. Since I like to use team members equally, if the Exp. Share is allowed I'll probably only use it for part of the playthrough anyways.

Twilight had flame wheel by this point so it was a clean 2HKO on zubat, was hoping to tail whip on the purugly but fake out followed by poison damage from zubat killed me, so monferno came in, hit a leer and hit a mach punch critical hit for OHKO.
went on through eterna forest beating the trainers easy enough, went right to the gym.
VS Gardenia
Twilight with Flame Wheel swept her team, turtwig took a hit and got up reflect then took another hit and got up sunny day then healed up, before 2 sun boosted Flame wheels took it down, another 2 took down cherrim and reflect wore off so a Flame Wheel in the sun was enough to OHKO roserade

Was my first attempt at a Monotype and I am hooked. I picked normal type since it is a type I always neglected in the past. Hoping to get my hands on a Gen 6 game so I can do a Ultimate.
UPDATE: Spent most of today grinding out Ruby and finally got the second region completed.

This was my first full play-through Gen 3 games. Was a good challenge, the steel and rock types are used much more in these games. Thruer my Zangoose turned out to be a powerhouse and could take out 3 of the Elite 4. However the steel user Steven at the end was a killer took 6+ runs and plenty of grinding to finally beat him. In the end it was a clutch Flamethrower from Bragr that took out Metagross. Basically this was an eye opening play through make a new favorite Pokemon Zangoose and a new mortal enemy Metagross that I must use in another challenge one day. Starting Gold next has been a very long time since I got all the way to red.

Alright, here's my next one to toss up.

Y Normal Monotype Challenge - Complete

First i'll do a quick overview of the Gym Leaders.

Viola: Handled her Surskit with my Zigzagoon, and Vivillon I killed with Quacklin' (Farfetch'd, in-game trade in Santalune City).
MVP: Quacklin'. Not much else to say here.

Grant: Team was around Level 21-22. My Furfrou 2HKO'ed his Amaura with Rock Smash, getting a critical and Defense drop turn one, and I had a Cheri Berry to eat his Thunder Wave. Tyrunt I halved the Attack and Defense of then HP with Baby-Doll Eyes and Rock Smash, then I brought in Snorlax and killed him with Bulldoze.
MVP: Furfrou, surely, with the Defense drop and critical hit at the beginning, and crippling Tyrunt for Snorlax to finish.

Korrina: Team was around Level 27-28, except my Level 31 Staravia. This was a game of getting the Intimidate off at the right times, and Baby-Doll Eyes with Furfrou. Hawlucha took less than half from Staravia's Aerial Ace, but Quick Attack finished her.
MVP: Arguably Staravia, but Furfrou was good here also.

Ramos: My team was Level 30-33. Furfrou beat Jumpluff with Baby-Doll Eyes, Rocky Helmet and Headbutt. Gogoat's Attack (and health) was below half when my Staravia came out and finished him and the Weepinbell. (I had the Sharp Beak.)
MVP: Furfrou for cutting Attack everywhere and killing the Jumpluff, and readying Gogoat for Staravia.

Clemont: My team was Level 34-36. Emolga barely beat Diggersby to the punch, but I got both his Hyper Potions out of the way and really lowered his Speed. From there on, Pyroar (which I delayed the evolution of for one level so I could get Flamethrower) wrecked him, even with Electric Terrain. So yeah, pretty easy.
MVP: Pyroar, being faster than Heliolisk and tearing through the rest of his team after Diggersby was down.

Valerie: My team was Level 36/37. Mawile was easy, and Mr. Mime I goofed against forgetting Noble Roar is blocked by Soundproof, but she didn't use any of the screens. Sylveon, however, was arguably the hardest opponent I was thrown all game, as she kept using Charm. Thankfully I paralyzed her right off the bat, and after I got both her Hyper Potions out Staraptor did less than half with Fly before I had Snorlax kill her with two more Body Slams (after a critical hit Dazzling Gleam no less). She killed Furfrou and Diggersby along the way.
MVP: Snorlax, definitely, since he had to keep taking Dazzling Gleams and barely toughed it out since I paralyzed her.

Olympia: My team was Level 41-43. Heliolisk didn't quite OHKO Sigilyph with Thunderbolt and she used Light Screen and Reflect, so I had to get crafty. I had Snorlax to take care of Meowstic, though.
MVP: Snorlax, I paralyzed her Slowking and she got fully paralyzed before she could use Yawn.

Final battle against Lysandre: My entire team was Level 48 (some edging on 49). Mienshao was easy for Staraptor, and Pyroar burned Snorlax, but I got in Yawn then Staraptor OHKO'ed that with Close Combat while he was asleep. Furfrou beat Honchkrow with two rounds of Headbutt and Rocky Helmet damage. Mega Gyarados killed me, but not without getting off Charm. Staraptor 2HKO'ed him with Close Combat followed by Return (barely lived an Outrage even with -1 Defense). Also, I should mention that in the second battle with him (upon entering the secret HQ), his Mienshao used High Jump Kick while Staraptor (who he was faster than) was in the air.
MVP: Staraptor, definitely. But Furfrou helped against Honchkrow and got Gyarados low with Charm.

Wulfric: My entire team was Level 51/52. Abomasnow and Avalugg were OHKO'ed by Pyroar's Flamethrower. Cryogonal did hardly anything with Ice Beam, but froze me solid. I thawed out second turn though, and Flamethrower (with the Expert Belt) was a 2HKO, even with Confuse Ray trying to deter me.
MVP: Pyroar. No comment.

Then we had the Elite Four! My entire team was Level 59 going in.

Wikstrom: There were two concerns: one, Probopass. I got Furfrou to rid his Sturdy (after Heliolisk got a quick enter for some EXP) and Staraptor killed him with a Black Belt boosted Close Combat. Two, getting his Aegislash into Blade Forme. I did that with Snorlax, and put him to sleep with Yawn. Other than that, Pyroar roasted everything with Flamethrower.
MVP: Pyroar, but Snorlax gets a mention for luring that Aegislash into Blade Forme so I could kill it.

Drasna: Snorlax took care of Dragalge easily, Druddigon killed me but not without using Yawn. Heliolisk weakened her a bit with Volt Switch then I went over to Wigglytuff and ate a Revenge easily, but Dazzling Gleam knocked her to the range where she healed. As she did, I used Thunder Wave and proceeded to OHKO her with a critical hit Dazzling Gleam. Her two Flying-types were OHKO'ed with Ice Beam. I lived against Noivern with 34 HP (from 156 or so) and finished the job.
MVP: Wigglytuff for not only the critical hit OHKO with Dazzling Gleam, but not flinching from Noivern's Air Slash at the end.

Siebold: As you can imagine, Heliolisk did most of the work, taking care of Clawitzer and Gyarados (also, I ask again: WHY would he send out the latter against an Electric-type?!). I Volt Switched out to Staraptor against Barbaracle, taking a Cross Chop easily, and finished him off with Close Combat, then Snorlax took care of his Starmie with no problem, even with Psychic lowering my Special Defense on the switch-in. Quick Claw activated on the second turn, and Crunch was a 2HKO so there.
MVP: Heliolisk, surely. But it was pretty cool when Snorlax killed that Starmie with the Quick Claw.

Malva: I OHKO'ed Pyroar with Staraptor's Close Combat, Wigglytuff 2HKO'ed Torkoal with Hyper Voice followed by Hyper Beam, and Talonflame killed her with Flare Blitz in two hits and I beat her with Heliolisk's Magnet boosted Thunderbolt - thankfully I reached Level 60 against Siebold, otherwise she would've been faster and possibly killed me. Chandelure was a 2HKO with Surf.
MVP: Heliolisk for getting her two harder ones out of the way without too much issue.

Finally we come to the Champion!

Champion Diantha: Hawlucha was OHKO'ed by Heliolisk's Thunderbolt, with a critical hit that I definitely didn't need.
Next was Goodra, ugh. I used Volt Switch for a small hit and went over to Pyroar, avoiding a Focus Blast. Hyper Voice didn't do much at all, while Focus Blast was an OHKO. I went for Wigglytuff, avoiding a Focus Blast but a critical hit Dazzling Gleam left her at 1 HP, and she healed. Dazzling Gleam did half on the dot, and Focus Blast did almost half and lowered my Special Defense, but Competitive doubled my Special Attack and I killed her.
Tyrantrum used Head Smash and killed me, but I went to Staraptor and killed her from around 60% with Close Combat. Aurorus was also OHKO'ed.
Gourgeist wasn't quite OHKO'ed by Fly, and she used Trick-or-Treat. She healed, and I went for Brave Bird, OHKO'ing her.
Gardevoir traced my Intimidate and cut my Attack, so I switched to Furfrou as she Mega Evolved, and I took a Thunderbolt for less than half. Sucker Punch did around 1/4 before she killed me with Moonblast. I brought in Snorlax and took less than half from Moonblast before I killed her with Giga Impact, winning the battle.
MVP: Arguably Staraptor for killing that Tyrantrum after Wigglytuff was downed, but Wigglytuff is surely co-MVP for getting that Goodra out of there (arguably her hardest one).

And AZ, my Heliolisk and Wigglytuff made short work of him.

I beat my Platinum Water Monotype tonight!
Updates? What are those? :O

I had a huge grind session before Gardenia in Eterna Forest (took advantage of whats-her-face healing me after every battle), and I had a huge Victory Road grindfest today. Other than that, I beat up all the trainers and tried to run through the game as fast as I could so it was cleared by the 31st. Though you might not call a week 'fast'...

Since I was in a hurry, the Elite Four basically was a Gyarados Dragon Dance Sweep, except for Flint, because I screwed it up. Used Return instead of Waterfall because Sunny Day was up, and it got KO'd by Thunder Punch Infernape. Thankfully I had lots of other Pokemon to beat him. :p

I even messed up and forgot to lead with it when I faced Cynthia, but I managed to heal-stall until Garchomp missed with Dragon Rush... so I had time to get in another Dragon Dance and OHKO it. Cheap, but I really wanted to beat it tonight so I had the Stadium Arcadium points.

I'd say Gyarados was my MVP, saving my ass when I went up against nasty grass types and managing the Elite Four through sheer offensive force. Though all my Pokemon had their time to shine at some point... just not much during the Elite Four. Poor Quagsire wasn't even used during it at all. :(

Overall, a pretty fun run. Sinnoh is not as bad as I had remembered. Maybe it's because I was playing Platinum instead of Pearl? *shrugs*
