I've been gone from the forums for so long, but I can't help taking this up! :3

I'm already planning to do other types in Fire Red once done with Grass. Could there be another challenge type where we have to beat a single generation, but with every type? I'd totally go for that.

Leaving my other games open for now because I don't know when I'll build on this one. I already traded myself an Amaura Egg since I'll be picking Tyrunt. I'm not sure if I added it into the rules explicitly, but I did make a call on a question in the past that whatever fossil you don't take in a Pokemon game where you have to choose one is considered a version exclusive and qualifies for trade in.

Entered the hall of fame with Vileplume, Venusaur, Bedrill, Nidoking, Nidoqueen and Haunter. All of them were awesome. So proud of them all.

    Badge 4 update

I haven't done a whole lot since the silly 3rd gym leader and the side story crap about the megaevolution stuff that i can't use :] so i quickly scurried to the 4th gym... i caught a tentacool because i love tentacool and tentacruel --- they are rock stars, Stunky just didn't make the cut imho. I like more variety and Dark isn't really a viable addition except to be a repellent to psychic types. . . but whatever --- i'll take my chances. I didn't level up much but ivysaur evolved and i used a moon stone on nidorino and got the nidoking who's also made for a great addition to each team.

I fought off the team flame peoples and then went straight into gym 5, answered all of the questions just to insult all of their ELECTRIC pokemon vs my tentacruel (who recently evolved btw) In doing so, my croagunk finally evolved into toxicroak making all of my pokemon finally their final evolve forms...

Update on my Emerald Water-Type Challenge:

Raina is my character, based off of a role-play character of mine. She feels the need to raise Water-types because of her name, and so she fits into this role and wants to be the best she can be. She's very nurturing and more of a breeder than anything, but is getting the badges and challenging the league so that she can feel the accomplishment of it. Just some headcanon here. (:

    2/8 badges earned.

    My Team:

    The Monotype Challenge

    Muir the Relaxed Marshtomp
    Level 17
    Torrent
Water Gun - Rock Tomb - Mud Shot - Tackle

    The Monotype Challenge

    Nerissa the Naughty Wingull
    Level 18
    Keen Eye
Water Gun - Growl - Supersonic - Wing Attack

    The Monotype Challenge

    Fjord the Brave Lombre
    Level 18
    Swift Swim
Astonish - Growl - Absorb - Nature Power

Muir is going to be my lead for the next gym - thank goodness for that ground typing. But Fjord should be able to back him up. The team likely won't be changing anytime soon, either. I do plan on getting a Sharpedo, though. I love those things but I've never actually used one so this should be fun. Not sure on any other teammates, but I like to have a full team so we'll see what happens. Saving Gyarados for other games since it's so easy to get and I'm sure I'll use it elsewhere - especially when I get to Y. Walrein is another one I'll probably add to the team. But we'll see what happens.

As for movesets, I still don't know if I want to put Steel Wing on Nerissa. And Fjord needs some better moves, like, bad. D:

Breloom - MVP for Pheobe and Glacia plus was MVP for most of the game.
Cacturne - Was a pretty decent member although he didn't do much.
Sceptile - Apart from the first gym she didn't really do anything at all.
Cabana - Only really useful as death fodder and for flying.

    Update #1: Steel - Platinum
It's not as difficult as I expected it to be, what with using the same type of Pokémon. But then again, I did choose the one that almost resists everything it's not really weak to.

    Screens:
    Spoiler:

    Team:
    The Monotype Challenge

    Skipper the Mild Prinplup (M) @ Lv.32
    Ability: Torrent
    Pound, Metal Claw, Bubblebeam, Peck
    The Monotype Challenge

    Malcho the Naughty Onix (M) @ Lv.32
    Ability: Sturdy
    Tackle, Rock Throw, Sandstorm, Slam
    The Monotype Challenge

    Clockwork the Serious Bronzor (/) @ Lv.31
    Ability: Levitate
    Confusion, Earthquake, Extrasensory, Confuse Ray
    The Monotype Challenge

    Shingo the Naive Scyther (M) @ Lv.30
    Ability: Technician
Wing Attack, Pursuit, Slash, Fury Cutter

And because I didn't really feel like doing yet another solo run on X, I decided to do a Mono Type run instead.

I traded my legendary in Pokemon X for a Gengar around the level of my team using the GTS... can i use him plox :) (i can catch Haunter in the game but Gengar needs to be traded to be evolved)
    Edit:
Trading is permitted for evolution and obtaining version exclusive Pokémon in your region's Pokédex that cannot be obtained otherwise, as long as its level does not exceed the highest level on your team. No Egg Moves for this trade in. You may hack Pokemon to evolve if they evolve by trading if you are incapable of doing so. If the Pokemon requires an item, wait til you have the item before hacking the evolution. Using a trade evolution patch on a ROM is also acceptable.
Nevermind. Some nice gentleman who wrote this monotype challenge answered it for me

mmmmm but now i have the hardest decision..... who to keep and who to kick off for Gengar...

    Edit2:
Decided to box my Venusaur because I like Gengar better and Grass with Poison is boring in comparison to the other team mates (although i may decide to kick out Toxicroak because so far he's been lacking)

    4th Update, Water Challenge, Ruby:

-made my way to Verdanturf Town, got a Contest Pass
-Opened the path in Rusturf Tunnel. Dunno why I'm the first person to use Rock Smash in there....
-Headed back to Mauville, then began to make the long trek north. Ya know, that one old woman in the house along the way is really insistent on you resting at her house. Little creepy.....
    -Trumpets evolved into a Pelipper
    -went through Fiery Path
-Arrived in Fallarbor Town. I don't get why those people are cool living next to an active volcano that constantly spews ash. Ash is bad for your health people, y'all should have lung disease by now. And it's not like it's Hawaii either; Mt.Chimney looks like a cinder cone or a stratovolcano, not a shield volcano.
-Met Lanette and stalked her to her house
-Bumped into Team Magma at Meteor Falls. Professor Cozmo kept saying that Team Magma tricked him, but idk what the guy was expecting.
-pursued Team Magma back to Mt.Chimney, kicked their asses, though Maxie wasn't too easy.
    -entered Lavaridge Town
-Took on the Lavaridge Gym. I gotta say, this was probably the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my nearly 15 years of being a Pokemon Trainer, it was so ****ing hard I cried.

Pfft, I'm kidding; the Gym was absurdly easy. That's what happens when you have a mono Water team with Marshtomp in it.
-Got the Go-Goggles from Brendan. I could without the smart-ass comments about how Norman looks tougher than I do though. Brendan, you don't even fully evolve your starter.

    Good news everyone!
I have a new charger for my ol' fat DS, so i'll be able to finish the ulti-monotype challenge sooner than later (it arrived yesterday, and it was posted to arrive around September 19th)
    20 days early :)
I'll have another update for the end of X's poison challenge within a couple of days, I'm just in a rather busy patch with a lot going on.

The save file for my dragon mono type on volt white got corrupted and I was over half way through it.>:( I still plan on doing it but not right away. So I started and finished a fire mono type on fire red (Hope it counts).
The computer I'm on wont upload to photobucket so if you need to see screen shots or me to give more detail about my run let me know.
    Team Used:
:t006:Fego LvL60 Moves: Flame Thrower, Aerial Ace, Earthquake, Rock Slide
:t059:Jasper LvL 59 Moves: Flame Thrower, Bite, Extreme Speed, HP (Fighting)
:t136:Cinder Lvl 61 Moves: Return, Quick Attack. Shadow Ball, Toxic

I also started another run Fire on Heart Gold just to see if I fixed the problem with my emulator crashing with it. I'm just getting ready to challenge Chuck so if I can sign up with that existing save it would be great. The only AR code I used was to fix the black screen issue I'm having but it dose nothing else to the game.
