What do you believe is the most powerful emotion? Keep in mind all the impulses that come with various emotions and the affects emotions tend to have on the human psyche.

Personally, I do believe anger and passion to be the most powerful emotions as they make you act on impulse without actually thinking of any consequences. Plus you could do anything under the impulse of said emotions.

    Well...it depends.

When it's about "outside" power, I'd say anger is the most powerful one. When you get really really angry, there's nothing that can stop you.

But...talking about "inside" power....I have to go for sadness. When it really stick into you, it drowns you like a doll.

Definitely agreeing with this statement. Anger and love are the two that I feel to be the most powerful because they cause us to do things we normally wouldn't do. Sometimes for the better..usually for the worst.

Yes anger, love , sadness all can kill u n every1 else cuz u can't control it

Powerful emotion? probably love, in every aspect. The love you have for someone, for a career, for work, for hobbies, etc, are the ones that drive you into doing things for them, they give you motivation for your actions...

Some say anger, some say love, I say both. They're two sides of the same coin, so to speak. Although, I do suppose hatred is the opposite of love in a sense, but the fact is, hatred usually has anger involved in it, thus I say anger. Love on the other hand is the force opposing anger and hatred in the way that you can't have both love and hatred at the same time, you can't love something and hate it, although, you can be angry at someone you love, in which case hatred again becomes the one involved.

    So, overall, hatred and love.

It depends. All emotions have the power to make someone act differently than they normally would. I think it all depends on the individual experiencing said emotion. (i.e I might be able to better handle my anger than my friend, thus anger would be the strongest emotion for him but not for me etc.)

I'm gonna go with the one from the Green Hornet! Fear.

It leads you to do whatever you can for that not to happen.

Hatred is probably up there too. I feel like negative emotions tend to be stronger than positive ones.

Fear is the most powerful emotion. Sucks that River beat me to the thread because now it looks like I'm copying but love and anger have nothing on fear.

The memories we can most easily recall are the ones where we are scared. It's caused by love and generates anger. It permeates everything.

I think that anger and passion are the most powerful.
When you're angry, you act on impulse.
When you're passionate about something, you impulsively react to defend that thing. Whether it be a person or thing.

Fear is up there, but I don't think it's the most powerful.
Fear makes your survival instincts kick in, and that's all it really does to you. Your instincts are what are powerful.

If I were an idealist I think I would say love, but in all reality I believe it is guilt.

Guilt can drive people to do the sort of things no one else would understand. I think guilt and fear are closely related. If you've ever been hit with something like survivors guilt you know how debilitating it can be.

For myself, I think it's hard to choose between anger and love being the "strongest" emotions, strongest in the sense that they affect people to the point where their behaviours are become different or unusual. In my opinion, these 2 emotions push individuals towards actions that they normally wouldn't do and that's a curious thing.

It's already been said, but I think it's fear. When you're in a state of sheer terror, it can make you do practically anything. You could be fueled by adrenaline in a terrifying situation in order to save yourself, or you could be completely petrified, no matter how much you wanted to move, you'd be immobile. While all emotions can influence you greatly, I think that fear is strongest.
