Can anyone give me some advice on making a theme, or atleast a link to a tutorial?

There are many great tuts in the Tutorials and Resources thread. Go check it out. :]

Hi, I've been searching for some really, really cool brushes, ones that don't look to real, but are awesome, can any of you suggest me some, that are uber awesome?

I mean uber awesome, I wanna start winning contests.

Well, I'm using gimp, but I wanna changes that to photoshop, can anyone tell me were they got their photoshop?

Most of us probably got Photoshop illegally. So... just find a torrent of it.

As for brushes, deviantArt is your best bet.

I have Photoshop CS4 and GIMP 2.0 but out of the two for general making I prefer GIMP because of how easy it is to use which is very convenient and time efficient. So I would disagree with Photoshop being better than GIMP as it can do nearly everything that Photoshop can. However the extra adjustment layers and such that Photoshop has I have needed in certain tags.

The second thing I'd like to say is why do you want good brushes for? The only brushes that are useful are splatter brushes which can be used for effects such as smudging etc. Using only the brush strokes for effects usually makes some failure tags, they're never really used for effects them selves. I you want to make win some competitions I would definitly not count on good brushes your going down the wrong route.

The effects that are mostly used in tags are: smudging, colour adjustment layers, lighting, bluring/sharpening, C4Ds (3d renders) and sometimes pentooling. Good typography also helps a great deal.

Well hope the advice helps.

No, that's naughty! Although I would have to admit to it, god bless the Pirate Bay!

I think they will help, I saw some awesome banners made with C4Ds they were awesome, I'm so gonna get C4D's, I never realized that making a decent tag sounded so simple, I'll give it a try...

Is there any place you can point me to that has awesome fonts?

Thank you I'll try to find it. :)

I'm gonna have a look at deviantart. :)

dafont.com is probably the best place for free fonts.
Thank you *huggles*

Wow I already found some I like, I'm gonna get them just because. :)

They are called Trashco, I think I can definitively use them later on. :)

Holy crap, how did the GRT get to page 80 already? o_o;;

Anyway, after this week, I should have like, a LOT of time. [/sorry I've been on absence lately. Dx You guys are awesome though, and pretty much held fort. Thank you a thousand times. <3]

So what do y'all say to me editing the butts off of your thread titles and giving these three labels:

[Shop]
[Gallery]
[Competition]

??

Oh, and then do you guys want a new GRT at page 100, or just keep on goin' with the current thread?

I might have to make a new lounge soon too. [/has been procrastinating on that since Sorano quit. Which was like, how many years ago? xD!]

Because of all the spam it's been getting while you were gone XD

Yes, labels please, although competition is a bit long, maybe Battle or Contest?

Current thread seems fine, new threads just attract spam :/
Oh noes, just as our lounge was getting some activity XD

I still think that most of the time you just have to use common sence to find out what kind of thread it is (especially with the GB&CG's threads, I mean its just obvious).

But hey, a trial run wouldn't hurt anyone. But that still doesn't mean I don't think that there should simply be separate competition, user shops, and portfolio section. Don't go crazy coo-coo on me though, I still remember this isn't a graphics forum, its a pokemon forum.

Also, if there is a reopening of any of the stickied threads, I would LOVE to make them. Why you ask? Because when no ones watching I pretend I'm the G&P mod. XD

Forget I just said that HAHA

Wow. You're the first one I have seen in my PokeCommunity experience who says GIMP is easy to use. I agree with you on everything you said. :D

-waves at Angela-

I've transferred about ten PS tuts to GIMP, which proves that GIMP is capable of doing just as much as PS can. One of my favorites have made at least five tags for people who request them from me. One of the best examples is my sig tag.

Uh, well with stickied threads, if it's something official of sorts, like the Lounge, then sorry you can't remake it. xD; I dunno why, but awhile back they made us re-do all the threads in our sections so that a staff member was the thread creator? I'd like to not have to do that again and just go ahead and do official threads myself. That's why I was thinking of re-doing this thread. x_x;

And GRT is mine. D:< [/shot]

Edit:

Okay after implementing the labelling system on the first two pages, there's a LOT of redundancy.
If anyone would like their thread name changed to accomodate the fact that you've got [shop] or [gallery] in front of your thread title now, please post here.
Because if you PM me, I'll be annoyed. xD;;

Anyway, I'll label everything on the front page from today onwards whenever I've got the time. <3

What about the people that have their shops and galleries in one thread?

It's a shopallery obviously. I'd assume gallery would be in the title and shop would be in the brackets.

A new GRT at 100 sounds fine to me. :D
